Milestones of Wireless Communication Networks and Technology Prospect of Next Generation (6G)

    Mohammed H. Alsharif1, Md. Sanwar Hossain2, Abu Jahid3, Muhammad Asghar Khan4, Bong Jun Choi5,*, Samih M. Mostafa6,7

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.3, pp. 4803-4818, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.023500 - 14 January 2022

Abstract Since around 1980, a new generation of wireless technology has arisen approximately every 10 years. First-generation (1G) and second-generation (2G) began with voice and eventually introduced more and more data in third-generation (3G) and became highly popular in the fourth-generation (4G). To increase the data rate along with low latency and mass connectivity the fifth-generation (5G) networks are being installed from 2020. However, the 5G technology will not be able to fulfill the data demand at the end of this decade. Therefore, it is expected that 6G communication networks will rise, providing better services through… More >

Abstract Juglans mandshurica is an economically and ecologically valuable species that is used for various construction purposes, making luxurious furniture, as food and sources of medicinal substances and landscaping because of its excellent wood, edible fruits and rich in various types of chemical compounds. In the past few decades, several genetic improvements of J. mandshurica were made, with a focus on the selection of improved varieties and on breeding technology. Many elite provenances and families were selected based on growth traits or wood properties. In recent years, with the increasing demand for high-quality seedlings in Chinese forestry production,… More >

    Mwaffaq Abu-Alhaija1, Nidal M. Turab1,*, AbdelRahman Hamza2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.41, No.1, pp. 225-240, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.019547 - 08 October 2021

Abstract Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) provides logical separation between data, network, applications and machines from the physical constrains of real machines. IaaS is one of the basis of cloud virtualization. Recently, security issues are also gradually emerging with virtualization of cloud computing. Different security aspects of cloud virtualization will be explored in this research paper, security recognizing potential threats or attacks that exploit these vulnerabilities, and what security measures are used to alleviate such threats. In addition, a discussion of general security requirements and the existing security schemes is also provided. As shown in this… More >

Goal Self-Concordance Model: What Have We Learned and Where are We Going

    Peng Wan1, Ting Wen2,*, Yunfei Zhang3, Hong Gao1, Jigan Wang1

    International Journal of Mental Health Promotion, Vol.23, No.2, pp. 201-219, 2021, DOI:10.32604/IJMHP.2021.015759 - 30 April 2021

Abstract Goal self-concordance reflects self-generated personal goals aligning with people’s interests and core values in one’s implicit personality as organic components, which is measured by the “perceived locus of causality” PLOC. Pursuing and achieving self-concordant goals both predict diversified outcomes in need-satisfaction, mental and physical well-being, positive attitude and behavior, etc. Based on expounding and sorting out the concept and measurement about goal self-concordance, the author analyzes the differences among a series of goal self-concordance theories. This paper focuses on the latest research trends and summarizes five influencing aspects of goal self-concordance: mental health, cognition, emotion, More >

Prospect Theory Based Hesitant Fuzzy Multi-Criteria Decision Making for Low Sulphur Fuel of Maritime Transportation

    Changli Lu1, Ming Zhao1,2, Imran Khan3, Peerapong Uthansakul4,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.66, No.2, pp. 1511-1528, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.012556 - 26 November 2020

Abstract The environmental impact of maritime transport has now become a relevant issue in sustainable policy formulation and has attracted increasing interest from academia. For the sustainable development of maritime transport, International Maritime Organization stipulates that the sulfur content of ship emissions will reach 0.5 from 2020. With the approaching of the stipulated implementation date, shipowners need to adopt scientific methods to make decision on low sulfur fuel. In this study, we applied a prospect theory based hesitant fuzzy multi-criteria decision-making model to obtain the optimal decision of low Sulphur marine fuel. For this purpose, the… More >

Gene expression of granulosa and cumulus cells: The prospect in predicting the quality and developmental competence of oocytes in vitro maturation

    BICHUN ZHAO1, XUEQING WU2,*, YITONG YUAN1, YUANTAO GAO1, XIAO LI2, RUOCHEN DU1, SUMING XU2, RUXIN ZHANG1, CHUNFANG WANG1,*

    BIOCELL, Vol.44, No.4, pp. 487-499, 2020, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2020.011638 - 24 December 2020

Abstract In vitro maturation (IVM), a promising assisted reproductive technology (ART), has been evolving in clinical trials and applications. There is a huge potential demand for IVM in clinical practice because it reduces the stimulation of gonadotropins to patients and provides evidence for the safety of neonatal birth. Unfortunately, the maturation rate of oocytes in vivo is not as high as it is in vivo due to a different microenvironment. Moreover, there are still controversies in predicting the developmental capability of oocytes in IVM. The granulosa cells (GCs) and cumulus cells (CCs), closely surrounding the oocytes, play a critical… More >

Abstract Background: Long-term outcomes in adults with prior arterial switch operation (ASO) have not yet been well defined. The aim of this study is to elucidate incidence and predictors of adverse cardiac outcomes in a prospectively followed cohort of adults after their ASO. Methods: The comprehensive longterm follow up of adults with ASO is a project within the European collaboration for prospective outcome research in congenital heart disease (EPOCH). It is designed as a prospective, international multicenter cohort study. Consecutive patients (age ≥ 16 years) with prior ASO will be included at 11 European tertiary care centers.… More >

Abstract This study evaluated the difference in treatment response and survival profiles between drug-eluting bead transarterial chemoembolization (DEB-TACE) and conventional transarterial chemoembolization (cTACE) treatments in Chinese hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients. A total of 120 HCC patients were consecutively enrolled in this prospective cohort study, which showed that DEB-TACE achieved higher complete response (CR) (30.8%) compared with cTACE (7.4%) with no difference in overall response rate (ORR) for patients treated with DEB-TACE and cTACE (80.8% vs. 73.5%). In addition, DEB-TACE was associated with a lower rate of progressive disease (PD) compared with cTACE (1.9% vs. 11.8%). With… More >
