Global Approximation for a Simulation Model Based on the RBF Response Surface Set

    Yin Xiao-Liang1, Wu Yi-Zhong1,2, Wan Li1, Xiong Hui-Yuan3

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.103, No.6, pp. 429-462, 2014, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2014.103.429

Abstract The use of multi-dimensional global approximation for a complex black-box function (such as a simulation or an analysis model) is steadily growing in the past decade. It can be applied in many fields such as parameter experiment, sensibility analyses real-time simulation, and design/control optimization. However, the widespread use of approximation methods is hampered by the lack of the ability to approximate a complex simulation model which characterizes the dynamic feature with multiple inputs and multiple outputs (MIMO) in a large domain. In this paper, a novel global approximation method for simulation models based on the RBF response surface set is… More >

Non-Contact Real-Time Heart Rate Measurement Algorithm Based on PPG-Standard Deviation

    Jiancheng Zou1,*, Tianshu Chen1, Xin Yang2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.60, No.3, pp. 1029-1040, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.05793

Abstract Heart rate is an important physiological parameter for clinical diagnosis, it can infer the health of the human body. Thus, efficient and accurate heart rate measurement is important for disease diagnosis and health monitoring. There are two ways to measure heart rate. One is contact type and the other is non-contact. Contact measurement methods include pulse cutting, electrocardiogram, etc. Because of the inconvenience of this method, a non-contact heart rate method has been proposed. Traditional non-contact measurement method based on image is collecting RGB three-channel signals in continuous video and selecting the average value of the green channel pixels as… More >

RETRACTED: Implementation System of Human Eye Tracking Algorithm Based on FPGA

    Zhong Liu1,2, Xin’an Wang1, Chengjun Sun1, Ken Lu3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.58, No.3, pp. 653-664, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.04597

Abstract With the high-speed development of transportation industry, highway traffic safety has become a considerable problem. Meanwhile, with the development of embedded system and hardware chip, in recent years, human eye detection eye tracking and positioning technology have been more and more widely used in man-machine interaction, security access control and visual detection.
In this paper, the high parallelism of FPGA was utilized to realize an elliptical approximate real-time human eye tracking system, which was achieved by the series register structure and random sample consensus (RANSAC), thus improving the speed of image processing without using external memory. Because eye images acquired by… More >

Online Magnetic Flux Leakage Detection System for Sucker Rod Defects Based on LabVIEW Programming

    Ou Zhang1,*, Xueye Wei1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.58, No.2, pp. 529-544, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.04075

Abstract Aiming at the detection of the sucker rod defects, a real-time detection system is designed using the non-destructive testing technology of magnetic flux leakage (MFL). An MFL measurement system consists of many parts, and this study focuses on the signal acquisition and processing system. First of all, this paper introduces the hardware part of the acquisition system in detail, including the selection of the Hall-effect sensor, the design of the signal conditioning circuit, and the working process of the single chip computer (SCM) control serial port. Based on LabVIEW, a graphical programming software, the software part of the acquisition system… More >

Differentially Private Real-Time Streaming Data Publication Based on Sliding Window Under Exponential Decay

    Lan Sun1, Chen Ge1, Xin Huang1, Yingjie Wu1,*, Yan Gao2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.58, No.1, pp. 61-78, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.03744

Abstract Continuous response of range query on steaming data provides useful information for many practical applications as well as the risk of privacy disclosure. The existing research on differential privacy streaming data publication mostly pay close attention to boosting query accuracy, but pay less attention to query efficiency, and ignore the effect of timeliness on data weight. In this paper, we propose an effective algorithm of differential privacy streaming data publication under exponential decay mode. Firstly, by introducing the Fenwick tree to divide and reorganize data items in the stream, we achieve a constant time complexity for inserting a new item… More >

Real-Time Visual Tracking with Compact Shape and Color Feature

    Zhenguo Gao1, Shixiong Xia1, Yikun Zhang1, Rui Yao1,*, Jiaqi Zhao1, Qiang Niu1, Haifeng Jiang2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.55, No.3, pp. 509-521, 2018, DOI: 10.3970/cmc.2018.02634

Abstract The colour feature is often used in the object tracking. The tracking methods extract the colour features of the object and the background, and distinguish them by a classifier. However, these existing methods simply use the colour information of the target pixels and do not consider the shape feature of the target, so that the description capability of the feature is weak. Moreover, incorporating shape information often leads to large feature dimension, which is not conducive to real-time object tracking. Recently, the emergence of visual tracking methods based on deep learning has also greatly increased the demand for computing resources… More >

A Real-time Monitoring Technique for Local Plasticity in Metals Based on Lamb Waves and a Directional Actuator/Sensor Set

    Y. L. Liu1, N. Hu2, H. Xu3, H. Ning1, L. K. Wu1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.40, No.1, pp. 1-20, 2014, DOI:10.3970/cmc.2014.040.001

Abstract A real-time monitoring technique for local plasticity using Lamb waves was developed. Tensile test of a thin aluminum plate with a circular hole where high stress concentration was induced was conducted to verify this technique. During the tensile test, a series of wave signals passing through the local plastic region were collected using a directional actuator/sensor set to monitor plasticity evolution. A pulse compression technique was used to process the wave signals. With the increase of tensile stress in the specimen, the amplitude changes of S0 and A0 modes were obtained and the difference of Lamb wave signals was further… More >
