    Zhihan Liu1, Xiang Li1, Siqi Liu2, Wei Li1,*, Xiangxu Meng1, Jing Jia3

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.47, No.1, pp. 937-954, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.039417

Abstract The COVID-19 virus is usually spread by small droplets when talking, coughing and sneezing, so maintaining physical distance between people is necessary to slow the spread of the virus. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends maintaining a social distance of at least six feet. In this paper, we developed a real-time pedestrian social distance risk alert system for COVID-19, which monitors the distance between people in real-time via video streaming and provides risk alerts to the person in charge, thus avoiding the problem of too close social distance between pedestrians in public places. We design a lightweight convolutional neural network… More >

    Revue Internationale de Géomatique, Vol.30, No.2, pp. 155-179, 2020, DOI:10.3166/rig.2021.00110

Abstract Air pollution and road traffic noise are two important environmental nuisances that could be harmful to the health and well-being of urban populations. In Mexico City, as in many North American cities, there has been an upsurge in bicycle ridership. However, Mexico City is also well known for having high levels of noise and air pollution. The purpose of this study is threefold: 1) evaluate cyclists’ exposure to air pollution (nitrogen dioxide) and road traffic noise; 2) identify local factors that increase or reduce cyclists’ exposure, in paying particular attention to the type of road and bicycle path or lane… More >

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.37, No.1, pp. 799-814, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.038330

Abstract With the full development of disk-resident databases (DRDB) in recent years, it is widely used in business and transactional applications. In long-term use, some problems of disk databases are gradually exposed. For applications with high real-time requirements, the performance of using disk database is not satisfactory. In the context of the booming development of the Internet of things, domestic real-time databases have also gradually developed. Still, most of them only support the storage, processing, and analysis of data values with fewer data types, which can not fully meet the current industrial process control system data types, complex sources, fast update… More >

    S. Ponnarasi1,*, T. Rajendran2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.75, No.3, pp. 6039-6057, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.035499

Abstract An efficient trust-aware secure routing and network strategy-based data collection scheme is presented in this paper to enhance the performance and security of wireless sensor networks during data collection. The method first discovers the routes between the data sensors and the sink node. Several factors are considered for each sensor node along the route, including energy, number of neighbours, previous transmissions, and energy depletion ratio. Considering all these variables, the Sink Reachable Support Measure and the Secure Communication Support Measure, the method evaluates two distinct measures. The method calculates the data carrier support value using these two metrics. A single… More >

    Amarendra Reddy Panyala1,2, M. Baskar3,*

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.46, No.3, pp. 3883-3899, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.037050

Abstract The deep learning models are identified as having a significant impact on various problems. The same can be adapted to the problem of brain tumor classification. However, several deep learning models are presented earlier, but they need better classification accuracy. An efficient Multi-Feature Approximation Based Convolution Neural Network (CNN) model (MFA-CNN) is proposed to handle this issue. The method reads the input 3D Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) images and applies Gabor filters at multiple levels. The noise-removed image has been equalized for its quality by using histogram equalization. Further, the features like white mass, grey mass, texture, and shape are… More >

    Y. M. Mahaboob John1,*, G. Ravi2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.46, No.3, pp. 3653-3666, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.036916

Abstract Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) routing problems are thoroughly studied several approaches are identified in support of MANET. Improve the Quality of Service (QoS) performance of MANET is achieving higher performance. To reduce this drawback, this paper proposes a new secure routing algorithm based on real-time partial ME (Mobility, energy) approximation. The routing method RRME (Real-time Regional Mobility Energy) divides the whole network into several parts, and each node’s various characteristics like mobility and energy are randomly selected neighbors accordingly. It is done in the path discovery phase, estimated to identify and remove malicious nodes. In addition, Trusted Forwarding Factor (TFF)… More >

    S. Vijayashaarathi1,*, S. NithyaKalyani2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.46, No.3, pp. 2881-2897, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.036864

Abstract In recent years, real-time video streaming has grown in popularity. The growing popularity of the Internet of Things (IoT) and other wireless heterogeneous networks mandates that network resources be carefully apportioned among versatile users in order to achieve the best Quality of Experience (QoE) and performance objectives. Most researchers focused on Forward Error Correction (FEC) techniques when attempting to strike a balance between QoE and performance. However, as network capacity increases, the performance degrades, impacting the live visual experience. Recently, Deep Learning (DL) algorithms have been successfully integrated with FEC to stream videos across multiple heterogeneous networks. But these algorithms… More >
