    Yang Wu1, Weiping Shang2,*, Jiahao Chen3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.59, No.1, pp. 199-214, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.05194

Abstract Robust data hiding techniques attempt to construct covert communication in a lossy public channel. Nowadays, the existing robust JPEG steganographic algorithms cannot overcome the side-information missing situation. Thus, this paper proposes a new robust JPEG steganographic algorithm based on the high tense region location method which needs no side-information of lossy channel. First, a tense region locating method is proposed based on the Harris-Laplacian feature point. Then, robust cover object generating processes are described. Last, the advanced embedding cost function is proposed. A series of experiments are conducted on various JPEG image sets and the results show that the proposed… More >

    R. Agalya1, R. Muthaiah2,*, D. Muralidharan3

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.120, No.1, pp. 25-43, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2019.05616

Abstract In today’s modern design technology, post-silicon validation is an expensive and composite task. The major challenge involved in this method is that it has limited observability and controllability of internal signals. There will be an issue during execution how to address the useful set of signals and store it in the on-chip trace buffer. The existing approaches are restricted to particular debug set-up where all the components have equivalent prominence at all the time. Practically, the verification engineers will emphasis only on useful functional regions or components. Due to some constraints like clock gating, some of the regions can be… More >

    X. X. Cui1, X. Zhang1,2, X. Zhou3, Y. Liu1, F. Zhang1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.98, No.6, pp. 565-599, 2014, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2014.098.565

Abstract The material point method (MPM) discretizes the material domain by a set of particles, and has showed advantages over the mesh-based methods for many challenging problems associated with large deformation. However, at the same time, it requires more computational resource and has difficulties to construct high order scheme when simulating the fluid in high explosive (HE) explosion problems. A coupled finite difference material point (CFDMP) method is proposed through a bridge region to combine the advantages of the finite difference method (FDM) and MPM. It solves a 3D HE explosion and its interaction with the surrounding structures by dividing the… More >

The Use of the BE SBS Algorithm to Evaluate Boundary and Interface Stresses in 3D Solids

    F.C. de Araújo1,2, C. R. da Silva Jr.1, M. J. Hillesheim1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.96, No.3, pp. 185-198, 2013, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2013.096.185

Abstract In this paper, the BE SBS (subregion-by-subregion) algorithm, a generic substructuring technique for the BEM, is applied to evaluate stresses at boundary and interfacial points of general 3D composites and solids. At inner points, regular boundary integration schemes may be employed. For boundary or interfacial points, the Hooke’s law along with global-to-local axis-rotation transformations is directly applied. In fact, in thin-walled domain parts, only boundary stresses are needed. As the SBS algorithm allows the consideration of a generic number of subregions, the technique applies to the stress analysis in any composite and solid, including the microstructural (grain-by-grain) modeling of materials.… More >

A Cartesian-Grid Discretisation Scheme Based on Local Integrated RBFNs for Two-Dimensional Elliptic Problems

    N. Mai-Duy1, T. Tran-Cong1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.51, No.3, pp. 213-238, 2009, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2009.051.213

Abstract This paper reports a new numerical scheme based on Cartesian grids and local integrated radial-basis-function networks (IRBFNs) for the solution of second-order elliptic differential problems defined on two-dimensional regular and irregular domains. At each grid point, only neighbouring nodes are activated to construct the IRBFN approximations. Local IRBFNs are introduced into two different schemes for discretisation of partial differential equations, namely point collocation and control-volume (CV)/subregion-collocation. Linear (e.g. heat flow) and nonlinear (e.g. lid-driven triangular-cavity fluid flow) problems are considered. Numerical results indicate that the local IRBFN CV scheme outperforms the local IRBFN point-collocation scheme regarding accuracy. Moreover, the former… More >

High-Order Upwind Methods Based on C2-Continuous Two-Node Integrated-RBF Elements for Viscous Flows

    D.-A. An-Vo1, N. Mai-Duy1, T. Tran-Cong1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.80, No.2, pp. 141-178, 2011, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2011.080.141

Abstract In this paper, 2-node integrated radial basis function elements (IRBFEs) [CMES, vol.72, no.4, pp.299-334, 2011] are further developed for the simulation of incompressible viscous flows in two dimensions. Emphasis is placed on (i) the incorporation of C2-continuous 2-node IRBFEs into the subregion and point collocation frameworks for the discretisation of the stream function-vorticity formulation on Cartesian grids; and (ii) the development of high order upwind schemes based on 2-node IRBFEs for the case of convection-dominant flows. High levels of accuracy and efficiency of the present methods are demonstrated by solutions of several benchmark problems defined on rectangular and non-rectangular domains. More >

Sequential Approximate Optimization Procedure based on Sample-reusable Moving Least Squares Meta-model and its Application to Design Optimizations

Jin Yeon Cho1, Min Hwan Oh1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.66, No.3, pp. 187-214, 2010, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2010.066.187

Abstract In this work, a sample-reusable sequential approximate optimization (SAO) procedure is suggested. The suggested sequential approximate optimization procedure utilizes a newly proposed sample-reusable meta-model along with the trust region algorithm. Domain of design is sequentially updated to search for the optimal solution through the trust region algorithm, and the system response in the updated design region at each sequential stage is approximated by the proposed sample-reusable meta-model. The proposed sample-reusable meta-model is based on the moving least squares(MLS) approximation scheme. Thanks to the merits of moving least squares scheme, the proposed meta-model can fully utilize the previously sampled responses as… More >

Geometric Formulation of Maxwell's Equations in the Frequency Domain for 3D Wave Propagation Problems in Unbounded Regions

    P. Bettini1, M. Midrio2, R. Specogna2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.66, No.2, pp. 117-134, 2010, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2010.066.117

Abstract In this paper we propose a geometric formulation to solve 3D electromagnetic wave problems in unbounded regions in the frequency domain. An absorbing boundary condition (ABC) is introduced to limit the size of the computational domain by means of anisotropic Perfectly Matched Layers (PML) absorbing media in the outer layers of an unstructured mesh. The numerical results of 3D benchmark problems are presented and the effect of the PML parameters and scaling functions on PML effectiveness are discussed. More >

    Cheng-Hung Huang1, Meng-Ting Chaing1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.53, No.2, pp. 153-180, 2009, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2009.053.153

Abstract A three-dimensional thermal tomography problem (or inverse geometry problem) in estimating the unknown irregular shape of interfacial enclosure (or surface) for a multiple region domain with an internal cavity by using the steepest descent method (SDM) and a general purpose commercial code CFD-ACE+ is examined in the present work based on the simulated measured temperature distributions on the outer surface obtained by infrared thermography. The advantage of calling CFD-ACE+ as a subroutine in this thermal tomography problem lies in its characteristics of easily-handling the moving boundary problem considered here since it has the function of automatic grid generation. Evaluation of Effective Material Parameters of CNT-reinforced Composites via 3D BEM

    F.C. Araújo1, L.J. Gray2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.24, No.2&3, pp. 103-122, 2008, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2008.024.103

Abstract In recent years, carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have been widely employed to build advanced composites. In this work, a Boundary Element Method (BEM) is applied to 3D representative volume elements (RVEs) to estimate mechanical properties of CNT-based composites. To model the thin-walled nanotubes, special integration procedures for calculating nearly-strongly-singular integrals have been developed. The generic BE substructuring algorithm allows modeling complex CNT-reinforced polymers, containing any number of nanotubes of any shape (straight or curved). The subregion-by-subregion strategy, based on Krylov solvers, makes the independent generation, assembly, and storage of the many parts of the complete BE model possible. Thus, significant memory… More >
