    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.69, No.3, pp. 3179-3204, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.018546 - 24 August 2021

Abstract The interest in selecting an appropriate cloud data center is exponentially increasing due to the popularity and continuous growth of the cloud computing sector. Cloud data center selection challenges are compounded by ever-increasing users’ requests and the number of data centers required to execute these requests. Cloud service broker policy defines cloud data center’s selection, which is a case of an NP-hard problem that needs a precise solution for an efficient and superior solution. Differential evolution algorithm is a metaheuristic algorithm characterized by its speed and robustness, and it is well suited for selecting an More >

Fault Detection Algorithms for Achieving Service Continuity in Photovoltaic Farms

    Sherif S. M. Ghoneim1,*, Amr E. Rashed2, Nagy I. Elkalashy1

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.30, No.2, pp. 467-479, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.016681 - 11 August 2021

Abstract This study uses several artificial intelligence approaches to detect and estimate electrical faults in photovoltaic (PV) farms. The fault detection approaches of random forest, logistic regression, naive Bayes, AdaBoost, and CN2 rule induction were selected from a total of 12 techniques because they produced better decisions for fault detection. The proposed techniques were designed using distributed PV current measurements, plant current, plant voltage, and power. Temperature, radiation, and fault resistance were treated randomly. The proposed classification model was created using the Orange platform. A classification tree was visualized, consisting of seven nodes and four leaves,… More >

ECC: Edge Collaborative Caching Strategy for Differentiated Services Load-Balancing

    Fang Liu1,*, Zhenyuan Zhang2, Zunfu Wang1, Yuting Xing3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.69, No.2, pp. 2045-2060, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.018303 - 21 July 2021

Abstract Due to the explosion of network data traffic and IoT devices, edge servers are overloaded and slow to respond to the massive volume of online requests. A large number of studies have shown that edge caching can solve this problem effectively. This paper proposes a distributed edge collaborative caching mechanism for Internet online request services scenario. It solves the problem of large average access delay caused by unbalanced load of edge servers, meets users’ differentiated service demands and improves user experience. In particular, the edge cache node selection algorithm is optimized, and a novel edge More >

Development of a Smart Technique for Mobile Web Services Discovery

    Mohamed Eb-Saad1, Yunyoung Nam2,*, Hazem M. El-bakry1, Samir Abdelrazek1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.69, No.2, pp. 1483-1501, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.017783 - 21 July 2021

Abstract Web service (WS) presents a good solution to the interoperability of different types of systems that aims to reduce the overhead of high processing in a resource-limited environment. With the increasing demand for mobile WS (MWS), the WS discovery process has become a significant challenging point in the WS lifecycle that aims to identify the relevant MWSs that best match the service requests. This discovery process is a resource-consuming task that cannot be performed efficiently in a mobile computing environment due to the limitations of mobile devices. Meanwhile, a cloud computing can provide rich computing… More >

Trust Management-Based Service Recovery and Attack Prevention in MANET

    V. Nivedita1,*, N. Nandhagopal2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.29, No.3, pp. 771-786, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.017547 - 01 July 2021

Abstract The mobile ad-hoc network (MANET) output is critically impaired by the versatility and resource constraint of nodes. Node mobility affects connection reliability, and node resource constraints can lead to congestion, which makes the design of a routing MANET protocol with quality of service (QoS) very difficult. An adaptive clustering reputation model (ACRM) method is proposed to improve energy efficiency with a cluster-based framework. The proposed framework is employed to overcome the problems of data protection, privacy, and policy. The proposed ACRM-MRT approach that includes direct and indirect node trust computation is introduced along with the… More >

A Homogeneous Cloud Task Distribution Method Based on an Improved Leapfrog Algorithm

    Yunliang Huo1, Ji Xiong1,*, Zhixing Guo1, Qianbing You1, Yi Peng2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.128, No.1, pp. 359-379, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2021.015314 - 28 June 2021

Abstract Cloud manufacturing is a new manufacturing model with crowd-sourcing characteristics, where a cloud alliance composed of multiple enterprises, completes tasks that a single enterprise cannot accomplish by itself. However, compared with heterogeneous cloud tasks, there are relatively few studies on cloud alliance formation for homogeneous tasks. To bridge this gap, a novel method is presented in this paper. First, a homogeneous cloud task distribution model under cloud environment was constructed, where services description, selection and combination were modeled. An improved leapfrog algorithm for cloud task distribution (ILA-CTD) was designed to solve the proposed model. Different More >
