    Sikander Hans1, Smarajit Ghosh1, Suman Bhullar1, Aman Kataria2, Vinod Karar2,*, Divya Agrawal2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.3, pp. 6183-6200, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.020768

Abstract Today, ship development has concentrated on electrifying ships in commercial and military applications to improve efficiency, support high-power missile systems and reduce emissions. However, the electric propulsion of the shipboard system experiences torque fluctuation, thrust, and power due to the rotation of the propeller shaft and the motion of waves. In order to meet these challenges, a new solution is needed. This paper explores hybrid energy management systems using the battery and ultracapacitor to control and optimize the electric propulsion system. The battery type and ultracapacitor are ZEBRA and MAXWELL, respectively. The 3-, 4-and 5-blade propellers are considered to produce… More >

Towards Realistic Vibration Testing of Large Floor Batteries for Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV)

    Benedikt Plaumann*

    Sound & Vibration, Vol.56, No.1, pp. 1-19, 2022, DOI:10.32604/sv.2022.018634

Abstract This contribution shows an analysis of vibration measurement on large floor-mounted traction batteries of Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV). The focus lies on the requirements for a realistic replication of the mechanical environments in a testing laboratory. Especially the analysis on global bending transfer functions and local corner bending coherence indicate that neither a fully stiff fixation of the battery nor a completely independent movement on the four corners yields a realistic and conservative test scenario. The contribution will further show what implication these findings have on future vibration & shock testing equipment for large traction batteries. Additionally, it will cover… More >

IOTA-Based Data Encryption Storage and Retrieval Method

    Hongchao Ma1,*, Yi Man1, Xiao Xing2, Zihan Zhuo2, Mo Chen3

    Journal of Quantum Computing, Vol.3, No.3, pp. 97-105, 2021, DOI:10.32604/jqc.2021.016775

Abstract At present, the traditional blockchain for data storage and retrieval reflects the characteristics of slow data uploading speed, high cost, and transparency, and there are a lot of corresponding problems, such as not supporting private data storage, large data operation costs, and not supporting Data field query. This paper proposes a method of data encryption storage and retrieval based on the IOTA distributed ledger, combined with the fast transaction processing speed and zero-value transactions of the IOTA blockchain, through the Masked Authenticated Messaging technology, so that the data is encrypted in the data stream. The form is stored in the… More >

Integration of Renewable Energy Sources into the Smart Grid Using Enhanced SCA

    Shaik Karimulla, K. Ravi*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.32, No.3, pp. 1557-1572, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.022953

Abstract The usage of energy in everyday life is growing day by day as a result of the rapid growth in the human population. One solution is to increase electricity generation to the same extent as the human population, but this is usually practically impossible. As the population is increasing, the need for electrical usage is also increasing. Therefore, smart grids play an important role in making efficient use of existing energy sources like solar, wind and battery storage systems. By managing demand, the minimization of power consumption and its consequent costs. On the load side, residential and commercial types use… More >

Construction of Key-dependent S-box for Secure Cloud Storage

    A. Indumathi*, G. Sumathi

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.32, No.3, pp. 1509-1524, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.022743

Abstract As cloud storage systems have developed and been applied in complex environments, their data security has become more prevalent in recent years. The issue has been approached through many models. Data is encrypted and stored in these models. One of the most widely used encryption methods is the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). In AES, the Substitution box(S-box) is playing a significant part in imparting the job of confusion. The security of the entire cryptosystem depends on its nonlinearity. In this work, a robust and secure S-box is constructed using a novel method, i.e., fingerprint features-based permutation function. Two stages are… More >

Live Migration of Virtual Machines Using a Mamdani Fuzzy Inference System

    Tahir Alyas1, Iqra Javed1, Abdallah Namoun2, Ali Tufail2, Sami Alshmrany2, Nadia Tabassum3,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.2, pp. 3019-3033, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.019836

Abstract Efforts were exerted to enhance the live virtual machines (VMs) migration, including performance improvements of the live migration of services to the cloud. The VMs empower the cloud users to store relevant data and resources. However, the utilization of servers has increased significantly because of the virtualization of computer systems, leading to a rise in power consumption and storage requirements by data centers, and thereby the running costs. Data center migration technologies are used to reduce risk, minimize downtime, and streamline and accelerate the data center move process. Indeed, several parameters, such as non-network overheads and downtime adjustment, may impact… More >
