Abstract Cowpea is one of the most important legume grains in the sub-Saharan region of Africa used for human consumption and animal feed, but its production is hampered by biotic and abiotic constraints raising the need to broaden its genetic basis. For this purpose, seeds of two cowpea varieties Melakh and Yacine were irradiated with 300 and 340 Gy of gamma-ray, respectively. The developed mutant populations were agromorphologically characterized from M5 to M7, while the genetic diversity of the latter was evaluated using 13 ISSR markers. Based on the agromorphological characterization, variation of flower color, pod… More >

Abstract The concept of gene-function-genetic trait was introduced to explore the effects of early flowering on the growth and development of maize at the jointing stage and to obtain early flowering mutants using ethyl methanesulfonate mutagenesis. First, we studied gene expression, phytohormones, and lignin content to explore the physiological peculiarities of the early flowering mutant. Then we analyzed the genetic features of the mutants during the jointing stage by measuring physiological and biochemical indices of drought tolerance. The results showed that the photosynthetic rate of the mutant was significantly higher than that of the control and More >

Abstract Steganography has been used to prevent unauthorized access to private information during transmission. It is the scheme of securing sensitive information by concealing it within carriers such as digital images, videos, audio, or text. Current steganography methods are working by assigning a cover file then embed the payload within it by making some modifications, creating the stego-file. However, the left traces that are caused by these modifications will make steganalysis algorithms easily detect the hidden payload. Aiming to solve this issue, a novel, highly robust steganography method based on hacking anti-shoplifting systems has proposed to… More >

    Saima Rashid1, Zakia Hammouch2, Rehana Ashraf3, Yu-Ming Chu4,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.126, No.1, pp. 359-378, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2021.011782 - 22 December 2020

Abstract In the present case, we propose the novel generalized fractional integral operator describing Mittag–Leffler function in their kernel with respect to another function Ф. The proposed technique is to use graceful amalgamations of the Riemann–Liouville (RL) fractional integral operator and several other fractional operators. Meanwhile, several generalizations are considered in order to demonstrate the novel variants involving a family of positive functions n (n ∈ N) for the proposed fractional operator. In order to confirm and demonstrate the proficiency of the characterized strategy, we analyze existing fractional integral operators in terms of classical fractional order. More >
