Adebowale Martins Obalalu1,*, Abdulazeez Adebayo Usman2, Umair Khan3

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.22, No.2, 2026, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2026.076959 - 04 March 2026

Abstract Efficient thermal management in porous media is essential for advanced engineering applications, including solar energy systems, electronic cooling, and aerospace thermal control. This study presents a comprehensive analysis of ternary hybrid nanofluids, TiO2–CdTe–MoS2 dispersed in water, flowing over a vertical stretching or shrinking surface in a Darcy–Brinkman porous medium. The investigation accounts for the combined effects of magnetohydrodynamics, thermal radiation, viscous dissipation, and internal heat generation. In contrast to previous studies that predominantly focused on single or binary nanofluids, the present work systematically examines the thermal and hydrodynamic performance of ternary hybrid nanofluids, highlighting their enhanced… More >

    Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.24, No.1, 2026, DOI:10.32604/fhmt.2026.075018 - 28 February 2026

Abstract The purpose of the present investigation is to explore the implications of Cross fluid in a Darcy-Forchheimer porous medium due to the tri-hybrid nanofluid past a porous cylinder. Thermal radiation, heat generation, thermal convection, solutal convective and chemical reaction have been encountered in this analysis. Entropy generation has been accounted for under the fluidic friction, heat rate analysis, and porosity analysis. Three different nanoparticles of multiwall carbon nanotube (MWCNT), aluminum oxide (Al2O3), and silver (Ag) are utilized to illustrate the tri-hybrid nanofluid flow with Ethlene Glycol (EG) as the base fluid. The governance… More >

Abstract The present investigation inspects the unsteady, incompressible MHD-induced flow of a ternary hybrid nanofluid made of SiO2 (silicon dioxide), ZnO (zinc oxide), and MWCNT (multi-walled carbon nanotubes) suspended in a water-ethylene glycol base fluid between two perforated squeezing Riga plates. This problem is important because it helps us understand the complicated connections between magnetic fields, nanofluid dynamics, and heat transport, all of which are critical for designing thermal management systems. These findings are especially useful for improving the design of innovative cooling technologies in electronics, energy systems, and healthcare applications. No prior study has… More >

Umi Nadrah Hussein1, Najiyah Safwa Khashi’ie1,*, Norihan Md Arifin2, Ioan Pop3

    Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.23, No.2, pp. 383-395, 2025, DOI:10.32604/fhmt.2025.063023 - 25 April 2025

Abstract This study investigates the heat transfer and flow dynamics of a ternary hybrid nanofluid comprising alumina, copper, and silica/titania nanoparticles dispersed in water. The analysis considers the effects of suction, magnetic field, and Joule heating over a permeable shrinking disk. A mathematical model is developed and converted to a system of differential equations using similarity transformation which then, solved numerically using the bvp4c solver in Matlab software. The study introduces a novel comparative analysis of alumina-copper-silica and alumina-copper-titania nanofluids, revealing distinct thermal conductivity behaviors and identifying critical suction values necessary for flow stabilization. Dual solutions… More >

Abstract The need for efficient thermal energy systems has gained significant attention due to the growing global concern about renewable energy resources, particularly in residential buildings. One of the biggest challenges in this area is capturing and converting solar energy at maximum efficiency. This requires the use of strong materials and advanced fluids to enhance conversion efficiency while minimizing energy losses. Despite extensive research on thermal energy systems, there remains a limited understanding of how the combined effects of thermal radiation, irreversibility processes, and advanced heat flux models contribute to optimizing solar power performance in residential… More > Graphic Abstract

Abstract Modeling the boundary layer flow of ternary hybrid nanofluids is important for understanding and optimizing their thermal performance, particularly in applications where enhanced heat transfer and fluid dynamics are essential. This study numerically investigates the boundary layer flow of alumina-copper-silver/water nanofluid over a permeable stretching/shrinking sheet, incorporating both first and second-order velocity slip. The mathematical model is solved in MATLAB facilitated by the bvp4c function that employs the finite difference scheme and Lobatto IIIa formula. The solver successfully generates dual solutions for the model, and further analysis is conducted to assess their stability. The findings More >
