    Zhigang Shang1,2, Yongzhe Zhu3, Xinmei Guo1,2, Meiai Zhao1,4,*

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.90, No.6, pp. 1711-1725, 2021, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2021.015048 - 28 June 2021

Abstract The development of next generation sequencing (NGS) and high throughput genotyping are important techniques for the QTL mapping and genetic analysis of different crops. High-resolution melting (HRM) is an emerging technology used for detecting single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in various species. However, its use is still limited in maize. The HRM analysis was integrated with SNPs to identify three types of populations (NIL population, RIL population and natural population), and the useful tags were screened. The patterns of temperature-shifted melting curves were investigated from the HRM analysis, and compared these with the kit. Among all 48 More >

    Krishnan Muthumayil1,*, Thangaiyan Jayasankar2, Nagappan Krishnaraj3, Mohamed Yacin Sikkandar4, Prakash Nattanmai Balasubramanian5, Chokkalingam Bharatiraja6

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.27, No.3, pp. 771-784, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.012462 - 01 March 2021

Abstract Wireless Multimedia Sensor Networks (WMSN) provides valuable information for scalar data, images, audio, and video processing in monitoring and surveillance applications. Multimedia streaming, however, is highly challenging for networks as energy restriction sensor nodes limit the potential data transmission bandwidth and lead to reduced throughput. WMSN’s two key design challenges, which can be achieved by the clustering process, are energy efficiency and throughput maximization. The use of the clustering technique helps to organise the sensor nodes into clusters, and between each cluster a cluster head (CH) will be chosen. This paper introduces a new Artificial… More >

    Nasreen Anjum1,*, Zhaohui Yang1, Imran Khan2, Mahreen Kiran3, Falin Wu4, Khaled Rabie5, Shikh Muhammad Bahaei1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.67, No.2, pp. 1759-1780, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.014635 - 05 February 2021

Abstract In this paper, we propose a two-tiered segment-based Device-to-Device (S-D2D) caching approach to decrease the startup and playback delay experienced by Video-on-Demand (VoD) users in a cellular network. In the S-D2D caching approach cache space of each mobile device is divided into two cache-blocks. The first cache-block reserve for caching and delivering the beginning portion of the most popular video files and the second cache-block caches the latter portion of the requested video files ‘fully or partially’ depending on the users’ video watching behaviour and popularity of videos. In this approach before caching, video is… More >

Abdul Waheed1,2,*, Naila Habib Khan3, Mahdi Zareei4, Shahab Ul Islam5, Latif Jan5,6, Arif Iqbal Umar1, Ehab Mahmoud Mohamed7,8

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.66, No.1, pp. 359-372, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.012196 - 30 October 2020

Abstract Congestion control is one of the main obstacles in cyberspace traffic. Overcrowding in internet traffic may cause several problems; such as high packet hold-up, high packet dropping, and low packet output. In the course of data transmission for various applications in the Internet of things, such problems are usually generated relative to the input. To tackle such problems, this paper presents an analytical model using an optimized Random Early Detection (RED) algorithm-based approach for internet traffic management. The validity of the proposed model is checked through extensive simulation-based experiments. An analysis is observed for different More >

Prophet_TD Routing Algorithm Based on Historical Throughput and Encounter Duration

    Jingjian Chen1, Gang Xu1, *, Fengqi Wei1, Liqiang He2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.64, No.3, pp. 1845-1858, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.010010 - 30 June 2020

Abstract Opportunistic networks are self-organizing networks that do not require a complete path between the source node and the destination node as it uses encounter opportunities brought by nodes movement to achieve network communication. Opportunistic networks routing algorithms are numerous and can be roughly divided into four categories based on different forwarding strategies. The Prophet routing algorithm is an important routing algorithm in opportunistic networks. It forwards messages based on the encounter probability between nodes, and has good innovation significance and optimization potential. However, the Prophet routing algorithm does not consider the impact of the historical… More >

Power Control and Routing Selection for Throughput Maximization in Energy Harvesting Cognitive Radio Networks

    Xiaoli He1, 2, Hong Jiang1, *, Yu Song1, 3, Muhammad Owais4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.63, No.3, pp. 1273-1296, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.09908 - 30 April 2020

Abstract This paper investigates the power control and routing problem in the communication process of an energy harvesting (EH) multi-hop cognitive radio network (CRN). The secondary user (SU) nodes (i.e., source node and relay nodes) harvest energy from the environment and use the energy exclusively for transmitting data. The SU nodes (i.e., relay nodes) on the path, store and forward the received data to the destination node. We consider a real world scenario where the EH-SU node has only local causal knowledge, i.e., at any time, each EH-SU node only has knowledge of its own EH… More >
