lncCRLA Enhanced Chemoresistance in Lung Adenocarcinoma That Underwent Epithelial–Mesenchymal Transition

Weili Min*1, Liangzhang Sun†1, Burong Li, Xiao Gao*, Shuqun Zhang*, Yang Zhao*

    Oncology Research, Vol.28, No.9, pp. 857-872, 2020, DOI:10.3727/096504021X16203818567367

Abstract EMT confers increased metastatic potential and the resistance to chemotherapies to cancer cells. However, the precise mechanisms of EMT-related chemotherapy resistance remain unclear. c-Src-mediated caspase 8 phosphorylation essential for EMT in lung adenocarcinoma cell lines preferentially occurs in cells with the mesenchymal phenotype, resulting in chemoresistance to cisplatin plus paclitaxel in patients with resectable lung adenocarcinoma and a significantly worse 5-year PFS. Cisplatin killed lung adenocarcinoma cells regardless of caspase 8. Paclitaxel-triggered necroptosis in lung adenocarcinoma cells was dependent on the phosphorylation or deficiency of caspase 8, during which FADD interacted with RIPK1 to activate More >

Huiling Wang*, Xin Hu, Feng Yang, Hui Xiao*

    Oncology Research, Vol.28, No.7-8, pp. 731-744, 2020, DOI:10.3727/096504020X16100888208039

Abstract This study was designed to investigate the precise mechanisms of miR-325-3p/S100A2 axis in breast cancer (BC). In this study, we found that the level of miR-325-3p was dramatically increased in BC tissues and cell lines, and the expression of S100A2 was significantly decreased. Also, the high level of miR-325-3p was closely associated with low expression of S100A2 in BC tissues. Moreover, introduction of miR-325-3p significantly promoted proliferation, invasion, and EMT of BC cells. Bioinformatics analysis predicted that the S100A2 was a potential target gene of miR-325-3p. Luciferase reporter assay demonstrated that miR-325-3p could directly target More >

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.16, No.5, pp. 1031-1046, 2020, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2020.011145 - 09 October 2020

Abstract This study presents a new multiphase flow model with transient heat transfer and pressure coupling to simulate HTHP (high temperature and high pressure) sour gas “kicks” phenomena. The model is intended to support the estimation of wellbore temperature and pressure when sour gas kicks occur during drilling operation. The model considers sour gas solubility, phase transition and effects of temperature and pressure on the physical parameters of drilling fluid. Experimental data for a large-diameter pipe flow are used to validate the model. The results indicate that with fluid circulation, the annulus temperature with H2S kicks is… More >

    Xiao Luo1,*, Hongying Chu2, Mengqi Liu1

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.8, No.10, pp. 1295-1304, 2020, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2020.011026 - 31 August 2020

Abstract Herein, epoxidized soybean oil methyl ester (ESOM) plasticizer was synthesized for the preparation of plasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) films by the alcoholysis and epoxidation. The chemical structure of ESOM was investigated by infrared spectrum and 1H nuclear magnetic resonance. The effect of content of ESOM and petroleum based plasticizer di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP) on the performance of plasticized PVC films was studied. The result showed that substituting DEHP with ESOM can improve the thermal stability of plasticized PVC films. When the weight ratio of ESOM and PVC is fixed at 1:2, plasticized PVC film presents higher elongation More >

The Influence of Entanglements of Net Chains on Phase Transition Temperature of Sensitive Hydrogels in Chemo-Mechanical Coupled Fields

    Tao Li1, Qingsheng Yang1, *, Lianhua Ma2, Xiaojun Zhang2, *

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.123, No.3, pp. 995-1014, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2020.09152 - 28 May 2020

Abstract Phase transition of hydrogel, which is polymerized by polymer network, can be regarded as the transition of polymer network stability. The stability of the polymer network might be changed when the external environment changed. This change will lead to the transformation of sensitive hydrogels stability, thus phase transition of hydrogel take place. Here, we present a new free density energy function, which considers the non-gaussianity of the polymer network, chains entanglement and functionality of junctions through adding Gent hyplastic model and Edwards-Vilgis slip-link model to Flory-Huggins theory. Abstract Pathogenesis of chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) has mostly been studied with regard to the oncogenic role of BCR/ABL fusion; however, recent disclosures have declared that the challenges with the treatment of CML patients would not be resolved until the role of other aberrancies is ignored. Given the involvement of cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) in the pathogenesis of CML, the present study aimed to investigate the effects of a multi-CDK inhibitor AT7519 on BCR/ABL-harboring CML-derived K562 cells. Our results showed that AT7519 effectively reduced the survival of K562 and induced its anti-proliferative effect through the induction of… More >

Stability of Nonlinear Feedback Shift Registers with Periodic Input

    Bo Gao1, *, Xuan Liu1, Xiaobo Wu1, *, Shudong Li2, *, Zhongzhou Lan1, Hui Lu2, *, Boyan Liu1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.62, No.2, pp. 833-847, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.06702

Abstract The stability of Non-Linear Feedback Shift Registers (NFSRs) plays an important role in the cryptographic security. Due to the complexity of nonlinear systems and the lack of efficient algebraic tools, the theorems related to the stability of NFSRs are still not well-developed. In this paper, we view the NFSR with periodic inputs as a Boolean control network. Based on the mathematical tool of semi-tensor product (STP), the Boolean network can be mapped into an algebraic form. Through these basic theories, we analyze the state space of non-autonomous NFSRs, and discuss the stability of an NFSR More >
