    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.93, No.3, pp. 611-625, 2024, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2024.048295

    Abstract

Seed germination with selenium (Se) is promising for producing Se-biofortified foods. Mungbean (Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek) sprout is freshly eaten as a salad dressed with sauce, making it superior for Se biofortification. Since the Se safety range for the human body is extremely narrow, it is imperative to evaluate the genotypic responses of mungbean sprouts to Se. This study evaluated the Se enrichment capacity and interaction with flavonoids and antioxidant systems in sprouts of 20 mungbean germplasms. Selenium treatment was done by immersing mungbean seeds in 20 μM sodium selenite solution for 8 h. Afterward, the biomass, Se amounts, flavonoid… More >

    ARCHNA RANI

    Journal of Polymer Materials, Vol.39, No.1-2, pp. 17-35, 2022, DOI:10.32381/JPM.2022.39.1-2.2

Abstract Accumulation of Microplastics (MPs) in diverse ecosystems is a growing global problem of our time. These are entering into the environment directly (micro-sized plastics manufactured purposefully) and by degradation of plastic products. Due to a diverse range of polymers and additives used to manufacture plastic products, the MPs of different chemical compositions are abundant in the environment. A detailed literature survey revealed that MPs -environment interaction is largely governed by these chemicals and other intrinsic properties of MPs viz. shape, size, density, surface charge, etc. The current investigation primarily aims to review different chemical and physical factors of MPs that… More >

Abstract Background: Limited research has been conducted on the influence of autophagy-associated long non-coding RNAs (ARLncRNAs) on the prognosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Methods: We analyzed 371 HCC samples from TCGA, identifying expression networks of ARLncRNAs using autophagy-related genes. Screening for prognostically relevant ARLncRNAs involved univariate Cox regression, Lasso regression, and multivariate Cox regression. A Nomogram was further employed to assess the reliability of Riskscore, calculated from the signatures of screened ARLncRNAs, in predicting outcomes. Additionally, we compared drug sensitivities in patient groups with differing risk levels and investigated potential biological pathways through enrichment analysis, using consensus clustering to identify subgroups… More >

    BIOCELL, Vol.48, No.3, pp. 473-490, 2024, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2024.048946

Abstract Background: Cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CD8+ T) cells function critically in mediating anti-tumor immune response in cancer patients. Characterizing the specific functions of CD8+ T cells in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) could help better understand local anti-tumor immune responses and estimate the effect of immunotherapy. Methods: Gens related to CD8+ T cells were identified by cluster analysis based on the single-cell sequencing data of three LUAD tissues and their paired normal tissues. Weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA), consensus clustering, differential expression analysis, least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) and Cox regression analysis were conducted to classify molecular subtypes for LUAD… More > Graphic Abstract

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.93, No.2, pp. 151-183, 2024, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2023.046943

Abstract Habanero pepper (Capsicum chinense Jacq.) is a crop of economic relevance in the Peninsula of Yucatan. Its fruits have a high level of capsaicinoids compared to peppers grown in other regions of the world, which gives them industrial importance. Soil is an important factor that affects pepper development, nutritional quality, and capsaicinoid content. However, the effect of soil type on fruit development and capsaicinoid metabolism has been little understood. This work aimed to compare the effect of soils with contrasting characteristics, black soil (BS) and red soil (RS), on the expression of genes related to the development of fruits, and… More >

Coordinated Voltage Control of Distribution Network Considering Multiple Types of Electric Vehicles

Liang Liu, Guangda Xu*, Yuan Zhao, Yi Lu, Yu Li, Jing Gao

    Energy Engineering, Vol.121, No.2, pp. 377-404, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.041311

Abstract The couple between the power network and the transportation network (TN) is deepening gradually with the increasing penetration rate of electric vehicles (EV), which also poses a great challenge to the traditional voltage control scheme. In this paper, we propose a coordinated voltage control strategy for the active distribution networks considering multiple types of EV. In the first stage, the action of on-load tap changer and capacitor banks, etc., are determined by optimal power flow calculation, and the node electricity price is also determined based on dynamic time-of-use tariff mechanism. In the second stage, multiple operating scenarios of multiple types… More >

Abstract Sintered silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) are widely used in high-power electronics due to their exceptional properties. However, the material reliability is significantly affected by various microscopic defects. In this work, the three primary micro-defect types at potential stress concentrations in sintered AgNPs are identified, categorized, and quantified. Molecular dynamics (MD) simulations are employed to observe the failure evolution of different microscopic defects. The dominant mechanisms responsible for this evolution are dislocation nucleation and dislocation motion. At the same time, this paper clarifies the quantitative relationship between the tensile strain amount and the failure mechanism transitions of the three defect types by… More >
