The planned special issue aims to investigate the multidisciplinary characteristics of IoT, with an emphasis on how several engineering disciplines, like electrical, electronics, computer science, and telecommunications engineering, have been combined. The objective is to provide in-depth insights into how these many technical domains interact to shape the development and adoption of IoT technology. As Internet of Things (IoT) devices proliferate in our daily lives, they provide particular problems and opportunities that call for creative technical fixes. Original studies and reviews that provide a thorough overview of various engineering principles used in the IoT domain are encouraged for this special issue.

Possible Topics:

• Role of Electrical and Electronics Engineering in the Development of IoT Devices.

• Interoperability and Standardization in IoT: An Engineering Perspective.

• IoT and Computer Science: Software Development, Data Management, and AI Integration.

• Role of Telecommunications Engineering in IoT: Connectivity Solutions and Challenges.

• Power Management and Energy Harvesting Solutions for IoT Devices.

• Security and Privacy in IoT: Design Considerations and Approaches.

• Engineering Robust IoT Systems: Challenges and Future Directions.

• IoT in Industry 4.0: Applications and Case Studies.

• The Role of Signal Processing in IoT Sensor Networks.

• The Interplay of Different Engineering Disciplines in Shaping IoT.

We hope that this special issue will give academics, practitioners, researchers, and technologists a venue to discuss their important contributions to the area, fostering a more thorough understanding of the Internet of Things from an interdisciplinary engineering perspective. By examining these subjects, we intend to advance the ongoing conversation about IoT and strengthen the Journal's dedication to promoting knowledge in this quickly developing area.
