    Morteza Okhovvat1,∗, Mohsen Sharifi2,†, Behrouz Minaei Bidgoli2,‡

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.35, No.6, pp. 423-430, 2020, DOI:10.32604/csse.2020.35.423

Abstract The processing of any natural language requires that the grammatical properties of every word in that language are tagged by a part of speech (POS) tagger. To present a more accurate POS tagger for the Persian language, we propose an improved and accurate tagger called IAoM that supports properties of text to speech systems such as Lexical Stress Search, Homograph words Disambiguation, Break Phrase Detection, and main aspects of Persian morphology. IAoM uses Maximum Likelihood Estimation (MLE) to determine the tags of unknown words. In addition, it uses a few defined rules for the sake of achieving high accuracy. For… More >

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.35, No.5, pp. 311-319, 2020, DOI:10.32604/csse.2020.35.311

Abstract Event trigger recognition is a sub-task of event extraction, which is important for text classification, topic tracking and so on. In order to improve the effectiveness of using word features as a benchmark, a new event trigger recognition method based on positive and negative weight computing is proposed. Firstly, the associated word feature, the part-of-speech feature and the dependency feature are combined. Then, the combination of these three features with positive and negative weight computing is used to identify triggers. Finally, the text classification is carried out based on the event triggers. Findings from our experiments show that the application… More >

Abstract The narrowing deformation of reservoir valley during the initial operation period threatens the long-term safety of the dam, and an accurate prediction of valley deformation (VD) remains a challenging part of risk mitigation. In order to enhance the accuracy of VD prediction, a novel hybrid model combining Ensemble empirical mode decomposition based interval threshold denoising (EEMD-ITD), Differential evolutions—Shuffled frog leaping algorithm (DE-SFLA) and Least squares support vector machine (LSSVM) is proposed. The non-stationary VD series is firstly decomposed into several stationary subseries by EEMD; then, ITD is applied for redundant information denoising on special sub-series, and the denoised deformation is… More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.125, No.2, pp. 515-539, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2020.010165

Abstract Equipped with a two-dimensional topological structure, a group of masses, springs and dampers can be demonstrated to model the internal dynamics of a thin-film transistor (TFT). In this paper, the two-dimensional Mass-Spring-Damper (MSD) representation of an inverted staggered TFT is proposed to explore the TFT’s internal stress/strain distributions, and the stress-induced effects on TFT’s electrical characteristics. The 2D MSD model is composed of a finite but massive number of interconnected cellular units. The parameters, such as mass, stiffness, and damping ratios, of each cellular unit are approximated from constitutive equations of the composite materials, while the electrical properties of the… More >

    Energy Engineering, Vol.117, No.5, pp. 323-342, 2020, DOI:10.32604/EE.2020.011035

Abstract Non-centrifugal cane sugar (NCS), known as Jaggery, is a form of unre- fined sugar which contains molasses. The integration of renewable energy resources in the production of NCS, have been analysed. The work investigates the energy requirements of a system incorporating a freeze-concentrator and a solar thermal heater to reduce the reliance on the combustion of bagasse or other fuels in a Jaggery production process. Depending on the extent to which freeze concentration can be incorporated into the process, results show that the minimum theoretical energy required to produce Jaggery can be reduced by 91.30% overall. Although difficult in practice,… More >

    Yuchi Kang1,2, Meihong Liu1, Sharon Kao‐Walter2,3, Jinbin Liu1, Qihong Cen4

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.25, No.2, pp. 405-411, 2019, DOI:10.31209/2019.100000102

Abstract A two-dimensional model of staggered tube banks of the bristle pack with different pitch ratios was solved by computational fluid dynamics (CFD). The pressure distribution along the gap centerlines and bristle surfaces were studied for different upstream pressure from 0.2 to 0.6MPa and models. The results show that the pressure is exponentially rather than strictly linearly decreasing distributed inside the bristle pack. The pressure distribution is symmetry about the circle’s horizontal line. The most obvious pressure drop occurred from about 60º to 90º. There is no stationary state reached between the kinetic energy and the static pressure when the upstream… More >

A Staggered Grid Method for Solving Incompressible Flow on Unstructured Meshes

Huawen Shu, Minghai Xu, Xinyue Duan*, Yongtong Li, Yu Sun, Ruitian Li, Peng Ding

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.123, No.2, pp. 509-523, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2020.08806

Abstract A finite volume method based unstructured grid is presented to solve the two dimensional viscous and incompressible flow. The method is based on the pressure-correction concept and solved by using a semi-staggered grid technique. The computational procedure can handle cells of arbitrary shapes, although solutions presented in this paper were only involved with triangular and quadrilateral cells. The pressure or pressure-correction value was stored on the vertex of cells. The mass conservation equation was discretized on the dual cells surrounding the vertex of primary cells, while the velocity components and other scale variables were saved on the central of primary… More >

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.89, No.2, pp. 253-273, 2020, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2020.09334

Abstract Invertase (INV), a key enzyme in sucrose metabolism, irreversibly catalyzes the hydrolysis of sucrose to glucose and fructose, thus playing important roles in plant growth, development, and biotic and abiotic stress responses. In this study, we identified 27 members of the BnaINV family in Brassica napus. We constructed a phylogenetic tree of the family and predicted the gene structures, conserved motifs, cis-acting elements in promoters, physicochemical properties of encoded proteins, and chromosomal distribution of the BnaINVs. We also analyzed the expression of the BnaINVs in different tissues and developmental stages in the B. napus cultivar Zhongshuang 11 using qRT-PCR. In… More >
