Complementary Kalman Filter as a Baseline Vector Estimator for GPS-Based Attitude Determination

    Dah-Jing Jwo1, *

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.65, No.2, pp. 993-1014, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.011592 - 20 August 2020

Abstract The Global Positioning System (GPS) offers the interferometer for attitude determination by processing the carrier phase observables. By using carrier phase observables, the relative positioning is obtained in centimeter level. GPS interferometry has been firstly used in precise static relative positioning, and thereafter in kinematic positioning. The carrier phase differential GPS based on interferometer principles can solve for the antenna baseline vector, defined as the vector between the antenna designated master and one of the slave antennas, connected to a rigid body. Determining the unknown baseline vectors between the antennas sits at the heart of… More >

    Khaled Belhassine1,3, Jacques Renaud1,2,3, Leandro Coelho1,2,3,4, Jean-Philippe Gagliardi5

    Revue Internationale de Géomatique, Vol.29, No.2, pp. 207-230, 2019, DOI:10.3166/rig.2019.00090

    Zhangzhen Sun1, Tianhe Xu1,*, Fan Gao1, Chunhua Jiang1, Guochang Xu1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.119, No.2, pp. 263-280, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2019.04425

Abstract Abnormal effects in GPS broadcast ephemerides can have a significant effect on real-time navigation and positioning solutions that use the orbit and clock error data provided by GPS broadcast ephemerides. This paper describes three types of non-integer-hour navigation data in GPS broadcast ephemeris data. Compared with GPST integer hour data, we find that there are two types of data blocks for non-integer-hour navigation containing gross errors with different levels of precision, which is reflected in the user range accuracy (URA) of the broadcast ephemeris. These gross errors can cause large deviations when using the GPS… More >

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.33, No.2, pp. 87-94, 2018, DOI:10.32604/csse.2018.33.087

Abstract The rapid expansion of GPS-embedded devices has showed the emerging new look of location-based services, enabling such offerings as travel guide services and location-based social networks. One consequence is the accumulation of a rich supply of GPS trajectories, indicating individuals’ historical position. Based on these data, we aim to mine the hot route by using a collaborative tensor calculation method. We present an efficient trajectory data processing model for mining the hot route. In this paper, we rst model the individual’s trajectory log, extract sources and destinations, use map matching to get the corresponding road More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.108, No.5, pp. 303-313, 2015, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2015.108.303

Abstract For the sake of a higher accuracy of active aircraft GPS tracking, the tracking algorithm based on pseudo-linear Kalman filter is hereby proposed. This algorithm simplifies geometrical and algebraic relations to obtain a pseudo-linear model, then tracking the target by means of Kalman filter algorithm. Meanwhile, the tracking algorithm is studied to build a velocity & position tracking model and a velocity & acceleration tracking model. As shown by the experimental result, the tracking algorithm based on pseudo-linear Kalman filter can meet the requirement of active aircraft GPS tracking, but also attain a higher tracking More >

A Fictitious Time Integration Method for Multi-Dimensional Backward Wave Problems

    Chih-Wen Chang1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.21, No.2, pp. 87-106, 2011, DOI:10.3970/cmc.2011.021.087

Abstract We address a new numerical approach to deal with these multi-dimensional backward wave problems (BWPs) in this study. A fictitious time τ is utilized to transform the dependent variable u(x, y, z, t) into a new one by (1+τ)u(x, y, z, t)=: v(x, y, z, t, τ), such that the original wave equation is written as a new hyperbolic type partial differential equation in the space of (x, y, z, t, τ). Besides, a fictitious viscous damping coefficient can be employed to strengthen the stability of numerical integration of the discretized equations by using a group preserving scheme. More >

A Backward Group Preserving Scheme for Multi-Dimensional Backward Heat Conduction Problems

    Chih-Wen Chang1, Chein-Shan Liu2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.59, No.3, pp. 239-274, 2010, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2010.059.239

Abstract In this article, we propose a backward group preserving scheme (BGPS) to tackle the multi-dimensional backward heat conduction problem (BHCP). The BHCP is well-known as severely ill-posed because the solution does not continuously depend on the given data. When eight numerical examples (including nonlinear and nonhomogeneous BHCP, and Neumann and Robin conditions of homogeneous BHCP) are examined, we find that the BGPS is applicable to the multi-dimensional BHCP. Even with noisy final data, the BGPS is also robust against disturbance. The one-step BGPS effectively reconstructs the initial data from the given final data, which with More >

A Backward Group Preserving Scheme for Multi-Dimensional Backward Wave Problems

    Chih-Wen Chang1,2, Chein-Shan Liu3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.19, No.1, pp. 17-36, 2010, DOI:10.3970/cmc.2010.019.017

Abstract The present study shows a backward group preserving scheme (BGPS) to deal with the multi-dimensional backward wave problem (BWP). The BWP is well-known as seriously ill-posed because the solution does not continuously count on the given data. When three numerical experiments are tested, we reveal that the BGPS is applicable to the multi-dimensional BWP. Even with noisy final data, the BGPS is also robust against perturbation. The numerical results are very pivotal in the computations of multi-dimensional BWP. More >

A Fictitious Time Integration Method for Backward Advection-Dispersion Equation

    Chih-Wen Chang1, Chein-Shan Liu2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.51, No.3, pp. 261-276, 2009, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2009.051.261

Abstract The backward advection-dispersion equation (ADE) for identifying the groundwater pollution source identification problems (GPSIPs) is numerically solved by employing a fictitious time integration method (FTIM). The backward ADE is renowned as ill-posed because the solution does not continuously count on the data. We transform the original parabolic equation into another parabolic type evolution equation by introducing a fictitious time coordinate, and adding a viscous damping coefficient to enhance the stability of numerical integration of the discretized equations by employing a group preserving scheme. When several numerical examples are amenable, we find that the FTIM is More >
