    K.V. Prasada, Hanumesh Vaidyaa,*, O. D. Makindeb , K. Vajraveluc , A. Wakifd , Hussain Bashaa

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.14, pp. 1-12, 2020, DOI:10.5098/hmt.14.11

Abstract This article explores the three-dimensional (3D) rotating flow of Upper Convected Maxwell (UCM) nanoliquid over an exponentially stretching sheet with a convective boundary condition and zero mass flux for the nanoparticles concentration. The impacts of velocity slip and hall current are being considered. The suitable similarity transformations are employed to reduce the governing partial differential equations into ordinary ones. These systems of equations are highly non-linear, coupled and in turn solved by an efficient semi-analytical scheme known as optimal homotopy analysis method (OHAM). The effects of various physical constraints on velocity, temperature, and concentration fields are analyzed graphically and discussed… More >

Revathi Gadamsettya,*, Venkata Subrahmanyam Sajjab , P. Sudam Sekharc, Dhaneshwar Prasadd,†

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.15, pp. 1-7, 2020, DOI:10.5098/hmt.15.18

Abstract Hydrodynamic lubrication characteristics of asymmetric rollers lubricated by non-Newtonian incompressible Bingham plastic fluid are analyzed in this work. It narrates the qualitative research with the rigid system in which the viscosity of the particular non-Newtonian Bingham plastic substance is considered to become the function of hydrodynamic pressure. The equations considered in this work like equation of motion along with continuity and energy equations are solved numerically using MATLAB after particular analytical steps. Resulting from this particular work, it is identified that there is some notable change in temperatures, pressure, load and traction forces with Newtonian and also non-Newtonian fluids both.… More >

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.92, No.7, pp. 2105-2116, 2023, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2023.029205

Abstract Ilex asprella (Hook. et Arn.) Champ. ex Benth is one of the most important traditional Chinese medicines in southern China. The seeds of Ilex asprella usually have extremely low germination due to their dormancy characteristics, which severely impacts the efficiency of seedling raising and increases labor costs. In this study, to improve the seed germination of I. asprella, the effects of germination substrate, hormone, winnowing, and stratification treatments on the seed germination of I. asprella were investigated. The results of the germination matrix showed that the highest germination percentage of 45.2% was achieved under the 20°C/10°C day/night temperature and vermiculite… More >

Champs et objets pour mieux représenter les phénomènes dans leur contexte géographique

Anne Ruas, Ha Pham, Laura Pinson

    Revue Internationale de Géomatique, Vol.29, No.2, pp. 185-205, 2019, DOI:10.3166/rig.2019.00081

More >

NUMERICAL ANALYSES ON VAPOR TEMPERATURE DROP IN AN ULTRA-THIN HEAT PIPE WITH A THIN WICK SHEET

    Yasushi Koito*

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.16, pp. 1-6, 2021, DOI:10.5098/hmt.16.8

Abstract Numerical analyses were conducted for an ultra-thin heat pipe in which a thin wick layer was placed on the bottom. The vapor temperature drop caused by vapor flow friction was discussed for two types of the ultra-thin heat pipes with small and large widths. The numerical results were compared with those obtained for an ultra-thin heat pipe with a centered-wick structure. It was confirmed that the vapor temperature drop was reduced effectively by increasing the width of the heat pipe. Therefore, a wider ultra-thin heat pipe, that is, an ultra-thin vapor chamber is a promising option for nextgeneration thermal management. More >

SQUEEZE FILM LUBRICATION OF ASYMMETRIC ROLLERS BY BINGHAM PLASTIC FLUID

Revathi Gadamsettya,*,† , Venkata Subrahmanyam Sajjab, P. Sudam Sekharc, Dhaneshwar Prasadd

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.16, pp. 1-6, 2021, DOI:10.5098/hmt.16.7

Abstract An attempt has been made to investigate hydrodynamic lubrication characteristics of asymmetric roller bearings lubricated by thin fluid film under the operating behavior of line contact for a heavily loaded rigid system for normal squeezing motion with cavitation points. The lubricant follows non-Newtonian incompressible Bingham plastic fluid model where the fluid viscosity is supposed to vary with hydrodynamic pressure . The equations which govern the fluid flow such as continuity and momentum equation are solved first analytically and later numerically using MATLAB. The numerical results are achieved for the velocity, pressure, load, and traction forces by varying different physical parameters… More >

Erdiwansyah Erdiwansyaha,e,f, Mahidin Mahidinb,*, Husni Husinb, Nasaruddin Nasaruddinc, Asri Ganib, Muhammad Faisal, Muhtadin Muhtadind, Muhammad Zakib, Rizalman Mamate

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.20, pp. 1-9, 2023, DOI:10.5098/hmt.20.29

Abstract The conversion of solid biomass waste into energy continues to be developed at this time to reduce dependence on fossil energy. Energy conversion can be carried out using several technologies commercialized by several industries, including the fluidized-bed combustor (FBC). This FBC technology has also been developed in several ways, such as the modification or unique modelling. In particular, the perforated plate modelling applied in this study is to provide excess air supply so that complete combustion can be achieved. In addition, modifying the perforated plate increases efficiency and radiation and reduces heat loss in the FBC combustion chamber. This research… More >
