    Yuquan Huang1,2, Fan Wei1, Qing Ma2, Yang Lin1, Jinpeng Huang2, Yanxia Zhu1,*, Danfeng Tang1,*

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.92, No.7, pp. 2105-2116, 2023, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2023.029205 - 29 May 2023

Abstract Ilex asprella (Hook. et Arn.) Champ. ex Benth is one of the most important traditional Chinese medicines in southern China. The seeds of Ilex asprella usually have extremely low germination due to their dormancy characteristics, which severely impacts the efficiency of seedling raising and increases labor costs. In this study, to improve the seed germination of I. asprella, the effects of germination substrate, hormone, winnowing, and stratification treatments on the seed germination of I. asprella were investigated. The results of the germination matrix showed that the highest germination percentage of 45.2% was achieved under the 20°C/10°C day/night temperature and… More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.20, pp. 1-9, 2023, DOI:10.5098/hmt.20.29

Abstract The conversion of solid biomass waste into energy continues to be developed at this time to reduce dependence on fossil energy. Energy conversion can be carried out using several technologies commercialized by several industries, including the fluidized-bed combustor (FBC). This FBC technology has also been developed in several ways, such as the modification or unique modelling. In particular, the perforated plate modelling applied in this study is to provide excess air supply so that complete combustion can be achieved. In addition, modifying the perforated plate increases efficiency and radiation and reduces heat loss in the… More >

Abstract Background: The immunomodulatory effects of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and their exosomes have been receiving increasing attention. This study investigated the immunoregulatory effects of human amniotic mesenchymal stem cells (hAMSCs) and their exosomes on phytohemagglutinin (PHA)-induced peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs). Methods: The hAMSCs used in the experiment were identified by light microscopy and flow cytometry, and the differentiation ability of the cells was determined by Oil Red O and Alizarin Red staining. The expressions of transforming growth factor (TGF)-β, indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase (IDO), cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), hepatocyte growth factor (HGF), and interleukin (IL)-6 were detected by quantitative… More >

Abstract Internet of things (IoT) and cloud computing (CC) becomes widespread in different application domains such as business, e-commerce, healthcare, etc. The recent developments of IoT technology have led to an increase in large amounts of data from various sources. In IoT enabled cloud environment, load scheduling remains a challenging process which is applied for ensuring network stability with maximum resource utilization. The load scheduling problem was regarded as an optimization problem that is solved by metaheuristics. In this view, this study develops a new Circle Chaotic Chameleon Swarm Optimization based Load Scheduling (C3SOA-LS) technique for… More >

    Eslam Hamouda1, Mohamed Ezz1,*, Ayman Mohamed Mostafa1, Murtada K. Elbashir1, Meshrif Alruily1, Mayada Tarek2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.46, No.1, pp. 619-636, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.035830 - 20 January 2023

Abstract Many types of research focus on utilizing Palmprint recognition in user identification and authentication. The Palmprint is one of biometric authentication (something you are) invariable during a person’s life and needs careful protection during enrollment into different biometric authentication systems. Accuracy and irreversibility are critical requirements for securing the Palmprint template during enrollment and verification. This paper proposes an innovative HAMTE neural network model that contains Hetero-Associative Memory for Palmprint template translation and projection using matrix multiplication and dot product multiplication. A HAMTE-Siamese network is constructed, which accepts two Palmprint templates and predicts whether these… More >

    Hakeem Ullah1, Mehreen Fiza1,*, Ilyas Khan2,*, Abd Allah A. Mosa3, Saeed Islam1, Abdullah Mohammed4

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.136, No.1, pp. 277-291, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.022289 - 05 January 2023

Abstract In this paper, we present a new modification of the newly developed semi-analytical method named the Optimal Auxilary Function Method (OAFM) for fractional-order equations using the Caputo operator, which is named FOAFM. The mathematical theory of FOAFM is presented and the effectiveness of this method is proven by using it with well-known Fornberg-Whitham Equations (FWE). The FOAFM results are compared with other method results along with their exact solutions with the help of tables and plots to prove the validity of FOAFM. A rapidly convergent series solution is obtained from FOAFM and is validated by… More >

Influence of Thermophoresis and Brownian Motion of Nanoparticles on Radiative Chemically-Reacting MHD Hiemenz Flow over a Nonlinear Stretching Sheet with Heat Generation

    S. Mohammed Ibrahim1, P. Vijaya Kumar2, G. Lorenzini3,*

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.4, pp. 855-868, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2022.019796 - 02 November 2022

Abstract In this study, a radiative MHD stagnation point flow over a nonlinear stretching sheet incorporating thermophoresis and Brownian motion is considered. Using a similarity method to reshape the underlying Partial differential equations into a set of ordinary differential equations (ODEs), the implications of heat generation, and chemical reaction on the flow field are described in detail. Moreover a Homotopy analysis method (HAM) is used to interpret the related mechanisms. It is found that an increase in the magnetic and velocity exponent parameters can damp the fluid velocity, while thermophoresis and Brownian motion promote specific thermal More >

Abstract In the last few decades, it has become increasingly clear that fractional calculus always plays a very significant role in various branches of applied sciences. For this reason, fractional partial differential equations (FPDEs) are of more importance to model the different physical processes in nature more accurately. Therefore, the analytical or numerical solutions to these problems are taken into serious consideration and several techniques or algorithms have been developed for their solution. In the current work, the idea of fractional calculus has been used, and fractional Fornberg Whitham equation (FFWE) is represented in its fractional More >

    Abdulghani Ragaa Alharbi*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.134, No.3, pp. 2193-2209, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2022.018445 - 20 September 2022

Abstract The Riemann wave system has a fundamental role in describing waves in various nonlinear natural phenomena, for instance, tsunamis in the oceans. This paper focuses on executing the generalized exponential rational function approach and some numerical methods to obtain a distinct range of traveling wave structures and numerical results of the two-dimensional Riemann problems. The stability of obtained traveling wave solutions is analyzed by satisfying the constraint conditions of the Hamiltonian system. Numerical simulations are investigated via the finite difference method to verify the accuracy of the obtained results. To extract the approximation solutions to More >
