    Abstract Polyether telechelics based on ethylene glycol,1,2-propylene glycol and 1,4- butylene glycol of with various molar masses and bearing at both terminals functional groups such as maleimide, itaconimide, nadimide and hydroxyl groups were individually examined as toughening agents for an unsaturated polyester resin (UPER). For a given telechelic, the toughening effect was evaluated at different mass ratios. The difference in toughening efficacy arose from the differential reactivity of the telechelics end groups combined with the unsaturation of the UPER with the reactive diluent, styrene.     Abstract In this paper, we report the microstructural investigation and influence of H-bonding on the thermal behavior e.g., glass transition (Tg ) and thermal degradation of chiral copolymers of (R)- N-(1-phenyl-ethyl) methacrylamide (R-NPEMAM) and 2-hydroxy ethyl methacrylate (HEMA). The Tg increases with the increase of chiral unit content in the copolymers and then attains optimum at around 25 mole % of chiral content. Due to the fact that photodegradation is a surface process and is confined to the degradation of the mechanical characteristics of polyester resin, this study focuses on the resin quality.     Averaged Dynamics of Fluids near the Oscillating Interface in a Hele-Shaw Cell

    Abstract The steady flow in a Hele-Shaw cell filled with fluids with a high viscosity contrast in the presence of fluid oscillations is experimentally studied. The control of oscillatory dynamics of multiphase systems with interfaces is a challenging technological problem. We consider miscible (water and glycerol) and immiscible (water and high-viscosity silicone oil PMS-1000) fluids under subsonic oscillations perpendicular to the interface. Observations show that the interface shape depends on the amplitude and frequency of oscillations. The interface is undisturbed only in the absence of oscillations.     Abstract This work is devoted to the experimental study of inertial wave regimes in a non-uniform rotating cylinder with antiparallel inclined ends. In this setting, the cross-section of the cylinder is divided into two regions where the fluid depth increases or decreases with radius. Three different regimes are found: inertial wave attractor, global oscillations (the cavity’s resonant modes) and regime of symmetric reflection of wave beams. In linear wave regimes, a steady single vortex elongated along the rotation axis is generated.     Abstract The behavior of two immiscible low-viscosity liquids differing in density and viscosity in a vertical flat layer undergoing modulated rotation is experimentally studied. The layer has a circular axisymmetric boundary. In the absence of modulation of the rotation speed, the interphase boundary has the shape of a short axisymmetric cylinder.     Abstract A numerical method has been used to analyze the flow field related to a NACA 0015 airfoil with and without a flap and assess the influence of the flap height and angle on the surface pressure coefficient, lift coefficient, and drag coefficient. The numerical results demonstrate that the flap can effectively improve the lift coefficient of the airfoil; however, at small attack angles, its influence is significantly reduced.
