Intelligent Intrusion Detection System for the Internet of Medical Things Based on Data-Driven Techniques

    Okba Taouali1,*, Sawcen Bacha2, Khaoula Ben Abdellafou1, Ahamed Aljuhani1, Kamel Zidi3, Rehab Alanazi1, Mohamed Faouzi Harkat4

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.47, No.2, pp. 1593-1609, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.039984

Abstract Introducing IoT devices to healthcare fields has made it possible to remotely monitor patients’ information and provide a proper diagnosis as needed, resulting in the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT). However, obtaining good security features that ensure the integrity and confidentiality of patient’s information is a significant challenge. However, due to the computational resources being limited, an edge device may struggle to handle heavy detection tasks such as complex machine learning algorithms. Therefore, designing and developing a lightweight detection mechanism is crucial. To address the aforementioned challenges, a new lightweight IDS approach is developed to effectively combat a diverse range… More >

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.92, No.7, pp. 2035-2049, 2023, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2023.028296

Abstract OsPLS4 encodes a β-ketoacyl carrier protein reductase (KAR). The role of OsPLS4 in rice sheath blight (Rhizoctonia solani) remains unclear. Our preliminary studies showed that premature leaf senescence mutants (pls4) were highly susceptive to sheath blight in the early stage of rice development. To explore the role of this gene in the development of rice sheath blight, the transcriptome profiles of the rice pls4 mutant and wild type were compared by RNA-seq. The results revealed 2,569 differentially expressed genes (DEGs). The down-regulated genes were significantly enriched in the defense response-related biological processes. These down-regulated genes included the chitinase genes and… More >

Infrared Spectroscopy-Based Chemometric Analysis for Lard Differentiation in Meat Samples

    Muhammad Aadil Siddiqui1,*, M. H. Md Khir1, Zaka Ullah2, Muath Al Hasan2, Abdul Saboor3, Saeed Ahmed Magsi1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.75, No.2, pp. 2859-2871, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.034164

Abstract One of the most pressing concerns for the consumer market is the detection of adulteration in meat products due to their preciousness. The rapid and accurate identification mechanism for lard adulteration in meat products is highly necessary, for developing a mechanism trusted by consumers and that can be used to make a definitive diagnosis. Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) is used in this work to identify lard adulteration in cow, lamb, and chicken samples. A simplified extraction method was implied to obtain the lipids from pure and adulterated meat. Adulterated samples were obtained by mixing lard with chicken, lamb, and… More >

Evaluating the Potentials of PLSR and SVR Models for Soil Properties Prediction Using Field Imaging, Laboratory VNIR Spectroscopy and Their Combination

    Emna Karray1, Hela Elmannai2,*, Elyes Toumi1, Mohamed Hedi Gharbia3, Souham Meshoul2, Hamouda Aichi4, Zouhaier Ben Rabah1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.136, No.2, pp. 1399-1425, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.023164

Abstract Pedo-spectroscopy has the potential to provide valuable information about soil physical, chemical, and biological properties. Nowadays, we may predict soil properties using VNIR field imaging spectra (IS) such as Prisma satellite data or laboratory spectra (LS). The primary goal of this study is to investigate machine learning models namely Partial Least Squares Regression (PLSR) and Support Vector Regression (SVR) for the prediction of several soil properties, including clay, sand, silt, organic matter, nitrate NO3-, and calcium carbonate CaCO3, using five VNIR spectra dataset combinations (% IS, % LS) as follows: C1 (0% IS, 100% LS), C2 (20% IS, 80% LS),… More > Graphic Abstract

A Hybrid Grey DEMATEL and PLS-SEM Model to Investigate COVID-19 Vaccination Intention

    Phi-Hung Nguyen1,2,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.72, No.3, pp. 5059-5078, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.027630

Abstract The main objective of this study is to comprehensively investigate individuals’ vaccination intention against COVID-19 during the second wave of COVID-19 spread in Vietnam using a novel hybrid approach. First, the Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory based on Grey Theory (DEMATEL-G) was employed to explore the critical factors of vaccination intention among individuals. Second, Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was applied to test the hypotheses of individual behavioral intention to get the vaccine to prevent the outbreak of COVID-19. A panel of 661 valid respondents was collected from June 2021 to July 2021, and confidentiality was maintained for all… More >

Two-Stage PLS-SEM and Fuzzy AHP Approach to Investigate Vietnamese SMEs’ Export Competitiveness

    Phi-Hung Nguyen1,2,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.72, No.2, pp. 4107-4123, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.026286

Abstract Vietnam is paying great to the seafood exporting sector, offering various significant production advantages, concluding that it is critical to understand the competitiveness of the target market and implement effective strategies. However, due to COVID 19, the value of Vietnamese pangasius exports resulted in low and unpredictable profits for pangasius farmers. It is obvious to recognize competitiveness as Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) problem in the uncertain business environment. Therefore, this study is the first to propose a two-staged Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) and Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) analysis to identify potential criteria and comprehensively investigate the competitiveness… More >

Computation of Aerodynamic Noise Radiated From Open Propeller Using Boundary Element Method

    Jun Huang1,2, Chaopu Zhang1, Song Xiang2, Liu Yang1, Mingxu Yi1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.108, No.5, pp. 315-330, 2015, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2015.108.315

Abstract In order to accurately predict the aerodynamic noise of the propeller, a hybrid method combining Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) method with Boundary Element Method (BEM) is developed in this paper. The calculation includes two steps: firstly, the unsteady viscous flow around the propeller is calculated using the CFD method to acquire the noise source information; secondly, the radiated sound pressure is calculated using BEM method in the frequency domain. In comparison with the experimental results from wind tunnel, the calculated results of aerodynamic performance are rather desirable. The simulation and experimental results of aerodynamic noise are well fitted. The directivity… More >
