    Alia Alabdulkarim1, Mznah Al-Rodhaan2, Yuan Tian*,3, Abdullah Al-Dhelaan2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.58, No.3, pp. 585-601, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.05637

Abstract Clinical decision-support systems are technology-based tools that help healthcare providers enhance the quality of their services to satisfy their patients and earn their trust. These systems are used to improve physicians’ diagnostic processes in terms of speed and accuracy. Using data-mining techniques, a clinical decision support system builds a classification model from hospital’s dataset for diagnosing new patients using their symptoms. In this work, we propose a privacy-preserving clinical decision-support system that uses a privacy-preserving random forest algorithm to diagnose new symptoms without disclosing patients’ information and exposing them to cyber and network attacks. Solving the same problem with a… More >

    Shang Zhang1, *, Seyedmehdi Karimi2, Shahaboddin Shamshirband3, 4, *, Amir Mosavi5,6

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.58, No.2, pp. 567-583, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.02795

Abstract In the process of eliminating variables in a symbolic polynomial system, the extraneous factors are referred to the unwanted parameters of resulting polynomial. This paper aims at reducing the number of these factors via optimizing the size of Dixon matrix. An optimal configuration of Dixon matrix would lead to the enhancement of the process of computing the resultant which uses for solving polynomial systems. To do so, an optimization algorithm along with a number of new polynomials is introduced to replace the polynomials and implement a complexity analysis. Moreover, the monomial multipliers are optimally positioned to multiply each of the… More >

    Gongshen Liu1, Kui Meng1,*, Jiachen Ding1, Jan P. Nees1, Hongyi Guo1, Xuewen Zhang1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.58, No.1, pp. 101-120, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.03898

Abstract Collaborative filtering is the most popular approach when building recommender systems, but the large scale and sparse data of the user-item matrix seriously affect the recommendation results. Recent research shows the user’s social relations information can improve the quality of recommendation. However, most of the current social recommendation algorithms only consider the user's direct social relations, while ignoring potential users’ interest preference and group clustering information. Moreover, project attribute is also important in item rating. We propose a recommendation algorithm which using matrix factorization technology to fuse user information and project information together. We first detect the community structure using… More >

GFCache: A Greedy Failure Cache Considering Failure Recency and Failure Frequency for an Erasure-Coded Storage System

    Mingzhu Deng1, Fang Liu2,*, Ming Zhao3, Zhiguang Chen2, Nong Xiao2,1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.58, No.1, pp. 153-167, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.03585

Abstract In the big data era, data unavailability, either temporary or permanent, becomes a normal occurrence on a daily basis. Unlike the permanent data failure, which is fixed through a background job, temporarily unavailable data is recovered on-the-fly to serve the ongoing read request. However, those newly revived data is discarded after serving the request, due to the assumption that data experiencing temporary failures could come back alive later. Such disposal of failure data prevents the sharing of failure information among clients, and leads to many unnecessary data recovery processes, (e.g. caused by either recurring unavailability of a data or multiple… More >

    Xiaorui Zhang1,3,*, Jiali Duan1, Lifeng Zhu2, Ladislav Kavan3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.57, No.3, pp. 505-519, 2018, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2018.01842

Abstract Puncture is a common operation in surgery, which involves all kinds of tissue materials with different geometry and mechanical properties. As a new cross-disciplinary research area, Virtual Surgery (VS) makes simulation of soft tissue in puncture operation possible in virtual environment. In this paper, we introduce a VS-based puncture system composed by three-layer soft tissue, simulated with spherical harmonic function (SHF), which is covered with a force mesh, constructed by mass spring model (MSM). The two models are combined together with a parameter of SHF named surface radius, which provides MSM with real-time deformation data needed in force calculation. Meanwhile,… More >

    Rooh ul Amin1, Irum Inayat2, Li Aijun1, Shahaboddin Shamshirband3,4,*, Timon Rabczuk5

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.57, No.3, pp. 365-388, 2018, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2018.03757

Abstract A bio-inspired global finite time control using global fast-terminal sliding mode controller and radial basis function network is presented in this article, to address the attitude tracking control problem of the three degree-of-freedom four-rotor hover system. The proposed controller provides convergence of system states in a pre-determined finite time and estimates the unmodeled dynamics of the four-rotor system. Dynamic model of the four-rotor system is derived with Newton’s force equations. The unknown dynamics of four-rotor systems are estimated using Radial basis function. The bio-inspired global fast terminal sliding mode controller is proposed to provide chattering free finite time error convergence… More >

Stability Analysis of Transfer Alignment Filter Based on the μ Theory

    Lihua Zhu1, Yu Wang1, Lei Wang2, Zhiqiang Wu1,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.59, No.3, pp. 1015-1026, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2019.05656

Abstract The performance of the transfer alignment has great impact on inertial navigation systems. As the transfer alignment is generally implemented using a filter to compensate the errors, its accuracy, rapidity and anti-disturbance capability are key properties to evaluate the filtering process. In terms of the superiority in dealing with the noise, H∞ filtering has been used to improve the anti-disturbance capability of the transfer alignment. However, there is still a need to incorporate system uncertainty due to various dynamic conditions. Based on the structural value theory, a robustness stability analysis method has been proposed for the transfer alignment to evaluate… More >

Abstract By using efficient and timely medical diagnostic decision making, clinicians can positively impact the quality and cost of medical care. However, the high similarity of clinical manifestations between diseases and the limitation of clinicians’ knowledge both bring much difficulty to decision making in diagnosis. Therefore, building a decision support system that can assist medical staff in diagnosing and treating diseases has lately received growing attentions in the medical domain. In this paper, we employ a multi-label classification framework to classify the Chinese electronic medical records to establish corresponding relation between the medical records and disease categories, and compare this method… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.55, No.3, pp. 447-463, 2018, DOI: 10.3970/cmc.2018.02195

Abstract As the main communication mediums in industrial control networks, industrial communication protocols are always vulnerable to extreme exploitations, and it is very difficult to take protective measures due to their serious privacy. Based on the SDN (Software Defined Network) technology, this paper proposes a novel event-based anomaly detection approach to identify misbehaviors using non-public industrial communication protocols, and this approach can be installed in SDN switches as a security software appliance in SDN-based control systems. Furthermore, aiming at the unknown protocol specification and message format, this approach first restructures the industrial communication sessions and merges the payloads from industrial communication… More >
