Blockchain-Based Secure and Fair IoT Data Trading System with Bilateral Authorization

Youngho Park1, Mi Hyeon Jeon2, Sang Uk Shin3,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.76, No.2, pp. 1871-1890, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.039462

Abstract These days, data is regarded as a valuable asset in the era of the data economy, which demands a trading platform for buying and selling data. However, online data trading poses challenges in terms of security and fairness because the seller and the buyer may not fully trust each other. Therefore, in this paper, a blockchain-based secure and fair data trading system is proposed by taking advantage of the smart contract and matchmaking encryption. The proposed system enables bilateral authorization, where data trading between a seller and a buyer is accomplished only if their policies, required by each other, are… More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.137, No.3, pp. 2867-2879, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.026200

Abstract A four-element compact dual-band patch antenna having a common ground plane operating at 28/38 GHz is proposed for millimeter-wave communication systems in this paper. The multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna geometry consists of a slotted ellipse enclosed within a hollow circle which is orthogonally rotated with a connected partial ground at the back. The overall size of the four elements MIMO antenna is 2.24λ × 2.24λ (at 27.12 GHz). The prototype of four-element MIMO resonator is designed and printed using Rogers RT Duroid 5880 with εr = 2.2 and loss tangent = 0.0009 and having a thickness of 0.8 mm. It covers… More >

CD-FL: Cataract Images Based Disease Detection Using Federated Learning

    Arfat Ahmad Khan1, Shtwai Alsubai2, Chitapong Wechtaisong3,*, Ahmad Almadhor4, Natalia Kryvinska5,*, Abdullah Al Hejaili6, Uzma Ghulam Mohammad7

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.47, No.2, pp. 1733-1750, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.039296

Abstract A cataract is one of the most significant eye problems worldwide that does not immediately impair vision and progressively worsens over time. Automatic cataract prediction based on various imaging technologies has been addressed recently, such as smartphone apps used for remote health monitoring and eye treatment. In recent years, advances in diagnosis, prediction, and clinical decision support using Artificial Intelligence (AI) in medicine and ophthalmology have been exponential. Due to privacy concerns, a lack of data makes applying artificial intelligence models in the medical field challenging. To address this issue, a federated learning framework named CD-FL based on a VGG16… More >

Overexpression of the LcPIN2 and LtPIN2 Gene in Arabidopsis thaliana Promotes Root Elongation

Zijian Cao#, Guoxia Xue#, Lingfeng Hu, Haoxian Qu, Shuang Liang, Jisen Shi, Jinhui Chen*, Zhaodong Hao*

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.92, No.8, pp. 2383-2397, 2023, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2023.029845

Abstract The auxin polar transporter, PIN-FORMED 2 (PIN2) plays an important role in root development. However, it remains unclear whether PIN2 genes form two Liriodendron species, L. chinense (LcPIN2) and L. tulipifera (LtPIN2), are both involved in root development and whether and to what extent these two genes diverge in function. Here, we cloned and overexpressed LcPIN2 and LtPIN2 in Arabidopsis thaliana wild-type (WT) and Atpin2 mutant. Phylogenetic and sequence analysis showed a small degree of differentiation between these two Liriodendron PIN2 genes. Tissue-specific gene expression analysis indicated that both Liriodendron PIN2 genes were highly expressed in roots, implying a potential… More >

Targeting the “undruggable” cancer driver genes: Ras, myc, and tp53

XINGBO WU, DAN PAN, SHOUYI TANG, YINGQIANG SHEN*

    BIOCELL, Vol.47, No.7, pp. 1459-1472, 2023, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2023.028790

Abstract The term “undruggable” is to describe molecules that are not targetable or at least hard to target pharmacologically. Unfortunately, some targets with potent oncogenic activity fall into this category, and currently little is known about how to solve this problem, which largely hampered drug research on human cancers. Ras, as one of the most common oncogenes, was previously considered “undruggable”, but in recent years, a few small molecules like Sotorasib (AMG-510) have emerged and proved their targeted anti-cancer effects. Further, myc, as one of the most studied oncogenes, and tp53, being the most common tumor suppressor genes, are both considered… More >

DEVELOPMENT OF A HEAT PIPE AND GREY BASED TAGUCHI METHOD FOR MULTI-OUTPUT OPTIMIZATION TO IMPROVE THERMAL PERFORMANCE USING HYBRID NANOFLUIDS

    Mohammed Yunus*, Mohammad S. Alsoufi

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.12, pp. 1-8, 2019, DOI:10.5098/hmt.12.11

Abstract Swift cooling systems, improved microprocessor chips, processors’ performance and power usage have increased production of an enormous amount of heat and high operating temperatures due to excess heat flux density in the field of microelectronics. A rapid cooling of electronic circuits and heat dissipation for the same size of pipe with the present technology as nano size circuits critically generate high heat flux beyond 100 W/cm2 is currently the challenging task with which we are presented. Cooling in the form of heat transfer should be managed using both thermal conductivity (evaporation) and phase transition (condensation) between the two solid interfaces… More >

REVIEW OF VARIOUS THIN HEAT SPREADER VAPOR CHAMBER DESIGNS, PERFORMANCE, LIFETIME RELIABILITY AND APPLICATION

    Masataka Mochizukia,*,†, Thang Nguyenb

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.13, pp. 1-6, 2019, DOI:10.5098/hmt.13.12

Abstract The cooling device for computers and electronics is getting smaller and thinner year after year, especially for the mobile handheld device such as smartphone which is the most popular gadget and widely use nowadays. It seems that in the current trend every 6-12 months a new model of smartphone is introduced and it was packed with faster processing processor, memories, and graphics, higher density battery, higher resolution for camera and video and so on. The drawback is the device getting hotter due to the increase of heat dissipation caused by faster computing. The traditional method of cooling by purely metal… More >

Distributed Robust Optimal Dispatch for the Microgrid Considering Output Correlation between Wind and Photovoltaic

    Ming Li1,*, Cairen Furifu1, Chengyang Ge2, Yunping Zheng1, Shunfu Lin2, Ronghui Liu2

    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.8, pp. 1775-1801, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.027215

Abstract As an effective carrier of integrated clean energy, the microgrid has attracted wide attention. The randomness of renewable energies such as wind and solar power output brings a significant cost and impact on the economics and reliability of microgrids. This paper proposes an optimization scheme based on the distributionally robust optimization (DRO) model for a microgrid considering solar-wind correlation. Firstly, scenarios of wind and solar power output scenarios are generated based on non-parametric kernel density estimation and the Frank-Copula function; then the generated scenario results are reduced by K-means clustering; finally, the probability confidence interval of scenario distribution is constrained… More >
