    P. Samuel Pakianathan*, R. V. Maheswari

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.3, pp. 2717-2736, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.029950

Abstract This research investigates the dielectric performance of Natural Ester (NE) using the Partial Differential Equation (PDE) tool and analyzes dielectric performance using fuzzy logic. NE nowadays is found to replace Mineral Oil (MO) due to its extensive dielectric properties. Here, the heat-tolerant Natural Esters Olive oil (NE1), Sunflower oil (NE2), and Ricebran oil (NE3) are subjected to High Voltage AC (HVAC) under different electrodes configurations. The breakdown voltage and leakage current of NE1, NE2, and NE3 under Point-Point (P-P), Sphere-Sphere (S-S), Plane-Plane (PL-PL), and Rod-Rod (R-R) are measured, and survival probability is presented. The electric field distribution is analyzed using… More >

    Energy Engineering, Vol.119, No.5, pp. 1811-1828, 2022, DOI:10.32604/ee.2022.020490

Abstract Aiming at the problem of abnormal data generated by a power transformer on-line monitoring system due to the influences of transformer operation state change, external environmental interference, communication interruption, and other factors, a method of anomaly recognition and differentiation for monitoring data was proposed. Firstly, the empirical wavelet transform (EWT) and the autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) model were used for time series modelling of monitoring data to obtain the residual sequence reflecting the anomaly monitoring data value, and then the isolation forest algorithm was used to identify the abnormal information, and the monitoring sequence was segmented according to the… More >

    Md. Anwar Hussen Wadud1, M. F. Mridha1, Jungpil Shin2,*, Kamruddin Nur3, Aloke Kumar Saha4

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.44, No.2, pp. 1775-1791, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.027841

Abstract Offensive messages on social media, have recently been frequently used to harass and criticize people. In recent studies, many promising algorithms have been developed to identify offensive texts. Most algorithms analyze text in a unidirectional manner, where a bidirectional method can maximize performance results and capture semantic and contextual information in sentences. In addition, there are many separate models for identifying offensive texts based on monolingual and multilingual, but there are a few models that can detect both monolingual and multilingual-based offensive texts. In this study, a detection system has been developed for both monolingual and multilingual offensive texts by… More >

Abstract The numbers of cases and deaths due to the COVID-19 virus have increased daily all around the world. Chest X-ray is considered very useful and less time-consuming for monitoring COVID disease. No doubt, X-ray is considered as a quick screening method, but due to variations in features of images which are of X-rays category with Corona confirmed cases, the domain expert is needed. To address this issue, we proposed to utilize deep learning approaches. In this study, the dataset of COVID-19, lung opacity, viral pneumonia, and lastly healthy patients’ images of category X-rays are utilized to evaluate the performance of… More >

Vehicle Density Prediction in Low Quality Videos with Transformer Timeseries Prediction Model (TTPM)

    D. Suvitha*, M. Vijayalakshmi

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.44, No.1, pp. 873-894, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.025189

Abstract Recent advancement in low-cost cameras has facilitated surveillance in various developing towns in India. The video obtained from such surveillance are of low quality. Still counting vehicles from such videos are necessity to avoid traffic congestion and allows drivers to plan their routes more precisely. On the other hand, detecting vehicles from such low quality videos are highly challenging with vision based methodologies. In this research a meticulous attempt is made to access low-quality videos to describe traffic in Salem town in India, which is mostly an un-attempted entity by most available sources. In this work profound Detection Transformer (DETR)… More >

Deep Learning Based Power Transformer Monitoring Using Partial Discharge Patterns

    D. Karthik Prabhu1,*, R. V. Maheswari2, B. Vigneshwaran2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.34, No.3, pp. 1441-1454, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.024128

Abstract Measurement and recognition of Partial Discharge (PD) in power apparatus is considered a protuberant tool for condition monitoring and assessing the state of a dielectric system. During operating conditions, PD may occur either in the form of single and multiple patterns in nature. Currently, for PD pattern recognition, deep learning approaches are used. To evaluate spatial order less features from the large-scale patterns, a pre-trained network is used. The major drawback of traditional approaches is that they generate high dimensional data or requires additional steps like dictionary learning and dimensionality reduction. However, in real-time applications, interference incorporated in the measured… More >

Efficient Image Captioning Based on Vision Transformer Models

    Samar Elbedwehy1,*, T. Medhat2, Taher Hamza3, Mohammed F. Alrahmawy3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.1, pp. 1483-1500, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.029313

Abstract Image captioning is an emerging field in machine learning. It refers to the ability to automatically generate a syntactically and semantically meaningful sentence that describes the content of an image. Image captioning requires a complex machine learning process as it involves two sub models: a vision sub-model for extracting object features and a language sub-model that use the extracted features to generate meaningful captions. Attention-based vision transformers models have a great impact in vision field recently. In this paper, we studied the effect of using the vision transformers on the image captioning process by evaluating the use of four different… More >

Muhammad Babar Kamal1, Arfat Ahmad Khan2, Faizan Ahmed Khan3, Malik Muhammad Ali Shahid4, Chitapong Wechtaisong2,*, Muhammad Daud Kamal5, Muhammad Junaid Ali6, Peerapong Uthansakul2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.72, No.3, pp. 5547-5562, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.024590

Abstract The deep learning advancements have greatly improved the performance of speech recognition systems, and most recent systems are based on the Recurrent Neural Network (RNN). Overall, the RNN works fine with the small sequence data, but suffers from the gradient vanishing problem in case of large sequence. The transformer networks have neutralized this issue and have shown state-of-the-art results on sequential or speech-related data. Generally, in speech recognition, the input audio is converted into an image using Mel-spectrogram to illustrate frequencies and intensities. The image is classified by the machine learning mechanism to generate a classification transcript. However, the audio… More >

Abstract Graphs are used in various disciplines such as telecommunication, biological networks, as well as social networks. In large-scale networks, it is challenging to detect the communities by learning the distinct properties of the graph. As deep learning has made contributions in a variety of domains, we try to use deep learning techniques to mine the knowledge from large-scale graph networks. In this paper, we aim to provide a strategy for detecting communities using deep autoencoders and obtain generic neural attention to graphs. The advantages of neural attention are widely seen in the field of NLP and computer vision, which has… More >
