Fufang Li, Manlin Luo*, Ming Hu, Guobin Wang, Yan Chen

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.47, No.3, pp. 2835-2850, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.039765

Abstract Liver cancer has the second highest incidence rate among all types of malignant tumors, and currently, its diagnosis heavily depends on doctors’ manual labeling of CT scan images, a process that is time-consuming and susceptible to subjective errors. To address the aforementioned issues, we propose an automatic segmentation model for liver and tumors called Res2Swin Unet, which is based on the Unet architecture. The model combines Attention-Res2 and Swin Transformer modules for liver and tumor segmentation, respectively. Attention-Res2 merges multiple feature map parts with an Attention gate via skip connections, while Swin Transformer captures long-range dependencies and models the input… More >

Full Scale-Aware Balanced High-Resolution Network for Multi-Person Pose Estimation

Shaohua Li, Haixiang Zhang*, Hanjie Ma, Jie Feng, Mingfeng Jiang

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.76, No.3, pp. 3379-3392, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.041538

Abstract Scale variation is a major challenge in multi-person pose estimation. In scenes where persons are present at various distances, models tend to perform better on larger-scale persons, while the performance for smaller-scale persons often falls short of expectations. Therefore, effectively balancing the persons of different scales poses a significant challenge. So this paper proposes a new multi-person pose estimation model called FSA Net to improve the model’s performance in complex scenes. Our model utilizes High-Resolution Network (HRNet) as the backbone and feeds the outputs of the last stage’s four branches into the DCB module. The dilated convolution-based (DCB) module employs… More >

    The Weighted Basis for PHT-Splines

    Zhiguo Yong1, Hongmei Kang1, Falai Chen2,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.138, No.1, pp. 739-760, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.027171

Abstract PHT-splines are defined as polynomial splines over hierarchical T-meshes with very efficient local refinement properties. The original PHT-spline basis functions constructed by the truncation mechanism have a decay phenomenon, resulting in numerical instability. The non-decay basis functions are constructed as the B-splines that are defined on the 2 × 2 tensor product meshes associated with basis vertices in Kang et al., but at the cost of losing the partition of unity. In the field of finite element analysis and topology optimization, forming the partition of unity is the default ingredient for constructing basis functions of approximate spaces. In this paper,… More > Graphic Abstract
