Zhenzhen Liu, Hua Zhang*, Zilong Wang, Yugang Zhao

    Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.22, No.4, pp. 1087-1105, 2024, DOI:10.32604/fhmt.2024.053851 - 30 August 2024

Abstract The exploration of performance and prediction of environmentally friendly refrigerant physical properties represents a critical endeavor. Equilibrium molecular dynamics simulations were employed to investigate the density and transport properties of propane and ethane at ultra-low temperatures under evaporative pressure conditions. The results of the density simulation of the evaporation conditions of the blends proved the validity of the simulation method. Under identical temperature and pressure conditions, increasing the proportion of R170 in the refrigerant blends leads to a density decrease while the temperature range in which the gas-liquid phase transition occurs is lower. Rheological Investigation on a Polypropylene/Low Density Polyethylene Blending Melt

    Huayong Liao1,2,3,*, Jing Gao1,2,3, Chunlin Liu1,2,3, Guoliang Tao1,2,3

    Journal of Polymer Materials, Vol.41, No.1, pp. 45-54, 2024, DOI:10.32604/jpm.2024.053021 - 21 June 2024

Abstract Polymer blending with co-continuous morphology has garnered the interest of many researchers, but corresponding rheological models are rarely presented. In this study, the dynamic rheological behavior of a blend of polypropylene (PP) and low-density polyethylene (LDPE) in the ratio of 50/50 wt% is investigated, and a rheological model suggested by Yu et al. is used to fit the dynamic modulus. The rheological measurement shows that at low frequency, pure PP has higher complex viscosity and dynamic modulus than LDPE. SEM images reveal that the morphology among the 40/60 and 60/40 blends is non-dispersive. The fitting… More >

    Journal of Polymer Materials, Vol.40, No.3-4, pp. 205-214, 2023, DOI:10.32381/JPM.2023.40.3-4.6

Abstract In current research work, we have studied the blending effect of non-mulberry silk fibroin (10% weight/volume basis) and gelatin (20% weight/volume basis) in formic acid. Several blends as SF10G0, SF2G8, SF3G7, SF5G5 and SF0G10 have been made and their rheological behaviour was investigated. The blend solutions were subjected to a steady shear rheological study in the variety of range of shear rates, namely 0.01–500 sec-1 and the viscosities of blend solutions were noticed to decrease in comparison to pure silk solution. The frequency sweep was employed in dynamic rheological tests to determine complex viscosity of More >

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.11, No.7, pp. 3043-3056, 2023, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2023.026788 - 05 June 2023

Abstract Polyethylene glycol (PEG) was added at different concentrations to the blend of poly(L-lactic acid) (PLLA) and poly(D,L-lactic acid)(PDLLA) to tailor the properties. The differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) measurement showed that all blends were miscible due to shifting a single glass transition temperature into a lower temperature for increasing PEG content. The DSC, FTIR, and XRD results implied the crystallinity enhancement for PEG content until 8 wt%, then decreased at 12 wt% PEG. The XRD result indicated the homo crystalline phase formation in all blends and no stereocomplex crystal. The in vitro degradation study indicated that… More > Graphic Abstract
