    P. Bala Anki Reddya , B. Mallikarjunab,*,K. Madhu Sudhan Reddya

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.11, pp. 1-10, 2018, DOI:10.5098/hmt.11.5

Abstract In this paper, a mathematical model has been developed to analyze the double diffusive convective flow of Casson fluid over an inclined stretching sheet with Cattaneo-Christov Heat Flux model. The velocity slip is considered over the surface of the stretching sheet as well. The governing equations for the pertinent model are transformed into non-dimensional highly coupled nonlinear differential equations using similarity transformations. The implicit finite difference method is used to carry out the numerical results and presented the graphs for different values of the physical parameter, Casson fluid parameter, and thermal relation time parameter, chemical reaction parameter for the cases… More >

    V. S. Sampath Kumar, N. P. Pai

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.12, pp. 1-9, 2019, DOI:10.5098/hmt.12.23

Abstract The present paper encorporates the effet of magnetic field on the incompressible Casson fluid flow between two parallel infinite rectangular plates approaching towards or away from each other with suction or injection at the porous plates. Using similarity transformations the governing Navier-Stokes equations are reduced to a nonlinear ordinary differential equation. Semi-analytical solution is obtained based on the Homotopy perturbation method. Further, the solution is compared with the classical finite difference method separately. The effect of magnetic field on velocity, skin friction and pressure is analysed on flow between two plates with suction or injection, where two plates moving towards… More >

    Emran Khoshrouye Ghiasi, Reza Saleh*

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.12, pp. 1-7, 2019, DOI:10.5098/hmt.12.4

Abstract In this paper, two-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow of Casson fluid over a fixed plate under non-uniform heat source/sink and Joule heating is analyzed by the homotopy analysis method (HAM). The governing boundary-layer equations have been reduced to the ordinary differential equations (ODEs) through the similarity variables. The current HAM-series solution is compared and successfully validated by the previous studies. Furthermore, the effects of thermo-physical parameters on the current solution are precisely examined. It is found that the skin friction coefficient and local Nusselt number are greatly affected by the Hartmann number. It can be concluded that employing the Casson fluid… More >

    V.S. Sampath Kumar, N.P. Pai , B. Devaki

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.20, pp. 1-13, 2023, DOI:10.5098/hmt.20.30

Abstract In the present study, we consider Casson fluid flow between two porous plates with permeability criteria in the presence of heat transfer and magnetic effect. A proper set of similarity transformations simplify the Navier-Stokes equations to non-linear ODEs with boundary conditions. The homotopy perturbation method is an efficient and stable method which is used to get solutions. Further, the results obtained are compared with the solution computed through an effective and efficient finite difference approach. The purpose of this analysis is to study the four different cases arise viz: suction, injection, mixed suction and mixed injection in this problem, along… More >

Kolli Vijayaa,* , G. Venkata Ramana Reddya

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.14, pp. 1-8, 2020, DOI:10.5098/hmt.14.12

Abstract Present investigation aims at analyzing the properties of heat and transport phenomena of thermal energy and species mass in a non-Darcy Casson fluid flow induced by a erected porous elongated surface considering the effect of non-linear radioactive heat, thermophorosis, first order chemical reaction, Newtonian heating, thermo diffusion, permeability and slip conditions. Influence of critical parameters are widely studied. By inducing the variables of similarity the basic boundary layer equations are transmuted into dimensionless equations and are resolved arithmetically using Runge – Kutta – Fehlberg shooting techniques method. The dominance of critical parameters against velocity, temperature, and concentration are explicated through… More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.15, pp. 1-9, 2020, DOI:10.5098/hmt.15.26

Abstract The upfront intension of this study is to explore the advances in electrically conducting Casson fluid induced due to a porous elongated surface taking Arrhenius activation energy, viscous dissipation and joule heating into account. Uniform magnetic and electric fields are imposed on the given flow. Variables of similarity are induced to transmute partial differential equations into dimensionless equations and resolved numerically by elegant method bvp4c. To scrutinize the behavior of critical parameters on flow configurations graphs and table are portrayed. From graphical moments, it is analyzed that velocity of the liquid diminish for advanced values of non-Newtonian rheology parameter, magnetic… More >

    Silpisikha Goswamia,b, Dipak Sarmab

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.16, 2021, DOI:10.5098/hmt.16.12

Abstract This study includes the observation of electrically conducting non-Newtonian fluid flow through a vertical porous plate considering the effect of the induced magnetic field. Our approach is numerical to investigate how the variation of magnetic Prandtl number and Eckert number effect the flow profiles. Influence of Casson parameter and Hartmann number in the profiles is also observed and depicted in graphs. The rate of heat transfer, the rate of mass transfer and the skin friction are calculated and presented in tables. A significant effect of magnetic Prandtl number and Eckert number is observed. We compared our results with some previous… More >

    M. Y. Dhangea,*, G. C. Sankada, Ishwar Maharudrappab

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.18, pp. 1-6, 2022, DOI:10.5098/hmt.18.36

Abstract The present paper investigates the impacts of heat transfer and magnetic field on the boundary layer flow of Casson fluid over a linearly stretching sheet. The researchers have introduced analytical and numerical solutions for the momentum and energy equations by transforming the equations into the system of ordinary differential equations with the aid of the similarity transformations technique. The velocity and temperature profiles for pertinent constraints like Casson fluid constraint, Chandrasekhar number, Prandtl number, and thermal conductivity are presented through graphs. The influence of the wall shear stress and the Prandtl number increases while the boundary layer thickness decreases. Further,… More >
