    Abstract The Bleve is an explosion involving both the rapid vaporization of liquid and the rapid expansion of vapor in a vessel. The loss of containment results in a large fireball if the stored chemical is flammable. In order to predict the damage generated by a Bleve, several authors propose analytical or semi-empirical correlations, which consist in predicting the diameter and the lifetime of the fireballs according to the quantity of fuel.     Abstract SPH method is widely used to study the dynamic response of metal casing under explosive loading because of its superiority in simulating metal fracture phenomenon [1-3]. The distribution of the fragment from uncoupled charge structures with segmental shaped explosive were studied. The X-ray photographic images of fragmentation obtained from explosion experiment were compared with the numerical results based on SPH method and Lagrange method.     Abstract The Single-sided Guarded Hot Plate Method for Comparative Testing of Thermal Radiation Barriers in Vacuum was used to evaluate the performance of a variety of aerogel insulation specimens manufactured by Aspen Aerogels® against one another and against multi-layer insulation (MLI). Testing at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) shows that the effective thermal resistance, Re, of all tested aerogel specimens are virtually bounded by the performance of 5-layer and 10-layer MLI specimens over a mean specimen temperature, Tm, range of about 270K to 315K.
