    Junaid Rashid1, Sumera Kanwal2, Muhammad Wasif Nisar2, Jungeun Kim1,*, Amir Hussain3

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.44, No.2, pp. 1309-1324, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.026018

Abstract In project management, effective cost estimation is one of the most crucial activities to efficiently manage resources by predicting the required cost to fulfill a given task. However, finding the best estimation results in software development is challenging. Thus, accurate estimation of software development efforts is always a concern for many companies. In this paper, we proposed a novel software development effort estimation model based both on constructive cost model II (COCOMO II) and the artificial neural network (ANN). An artificial neural network enhances the COCOMO model, and the value of the baseline effort constant A is calibrated to use… More >

    G. Girishkumar1,*, S. Ganesan2, N. Jayakumar3, S. Subramanian4

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.1, pp. 609-625, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.027514

Abstract The optimization field has grown tremendously, and new optimization techniques are developed based on statistics and evolutionary procedures. Therefore, it is necessary to identify a suitable optimization technique for a particular application. In this work, Black Widow Optimization (BWO) algorithm is introduced to minimize the cost functions in order to optimize the Multi-Area Economic Dispatch (MAED). The BWO is implemented for two different-scale test systems, comprising 16 and 40 units with three and four areas. The performance of BWO is compared with the available optimization techniques in the literature to demonstrate the strategy’s efficacy. Results show that the optimized cost… More >

Combined Economic and Emission Power Dispatch Control Using Substantial Augmented Transformative Algorithm

    T. R. Manikandan*, Venkatesan Thangavelu

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.1, pp. 431-447, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.026546

Abstract The purpose of the Combined Economic Emission Dispatch (CEED) of electric power is to offer the most exceptional schedule for production units, which must run with both low fuel costs and emission levels concurrently, thereby meeting the lack of system equality and inequality constraints. Economic and emissions dispatching has become a primary and significant concern in power system networks. Consequences of using non-renewable fuels as input to exhaust power systems with toxic gas emissions and depleted resources for future generations. The optimal power allocation to generators serves as a solution to this problem. Emission dispatch reduces emissions while ignoring economic… More >

CO2 and Cost-Based Optimum Design of Sustainable Metakaolin-Modified Concrete

    Xiaoyong Wang*

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.10, No.9, pp. 2431-2450, 2022, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2022.020829

Abstract Metakaolin is a highly reactive pozzolanic material that is widely utilized for enhancing the performance of concrete. This study offers a framework for the mixture design of sustainable metakaolin-modified concrete with low CO2 emissions and low costs. Different design strengths after 28 days are first formulated, with values such as 30, 40, 50, and 60 MPa. A genetic algorithm is then used to determine the optimal mixtures. Minimized CO2 and cost are set as the aims of the genetic algorithm. The strength of the concrete, its workability (slump), and carbonation service life with climate change are set as constraints of the… More >

    Daqing Wu1,2, Ziwei Zhu1, Dong Hu3,*, Romany Fouad Mansour4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.1, pp. 2079-2095, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.027794

Abstract With the rapid development of the fresh cold chain logistics distribution and the prevalence of low carbon concept, this paper proposed an optimization model of low carbon fresh cold chain logistics distribution route considering customer satisfaction, and combined with time, space, weight, distribution rules and other constraints to optimize the distribution model. At the same time, transportation cost, penalty cost, overloading cost, carbon tax cost and customer satisfaction were considered as the components of the objective function, and the thought of cost efficiency was taken into account, so as to establish a distribution model based on the ratio of minimum… More >

Omar Ben Bahri*, Abdullah Alhumaidi Alotaibi

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.43, No.3, pp. 1315-1326, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.024979

Abstract The satellite technology proves its impact in the modern era with its wide benefits and applications. However, the cost of the development in this field presents gaps in many countries, almost the developed countries. Therefore, this paper provides a rich platform around low-cost sensors in order to improve maturity in space technology, mostly the system of attitude determination and control. The development of this knowledge turns out to be very interesting in order to achieve a space mission which leads to the progression of the spatial technology readiness level (TRL) defined by the international measurement scale which is able to… More >

    D. Jeyakumar*, C. Rajabhushanam

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.43, No.3, pp. 1131-1144, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.022480

Abstract In this, communication world, the Network Function Virtualization concept is utilized for many businesses, small services to virtualize the network node function and to build a block that may connect the chain, communication services. Mainly, Virtualized Network Function Forwarding Graph (VNF-FG) has been used to define the connection between the VNF and to give the best end-to-end services. In the existing method, VNF mapping and backup VNF were proposed but there was no profit and reliability improvement of the backup and mapping of the primary VNF. As a consequence, this paper offers a Hybrid Hexagon-Cost Efficient algorithm for determining the best… More >

    Yabin Xu1,2,*, Lufa Qin2, Xiaowei Xu3

    Journal of Cyber Security, Vol.4, No.1, pp. 41-55, 2022, DOI:10.32604/jcs.2022.028265

Abstract In order to extend the application scope of NDN and realize the transmission of different NDNs across IP networks, a method for interconnecting NDN networks distributed in different areas with IP networks is proposed. Firstly, the NDN data resource is located by means of the DNS mechanism, and the gateway IP address of the NDN network where the data resource is located is found. Then, the transmission between different NDNs across the IP network is implemented based on the tunnel technology. In addition, in order to achieve efficient and fast NDN data forwarding, we have added a small number of… More >

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.10, No.8, pp. 2263-2285, 2022, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2022.018911

Abstract The shortage of natural aggregates is becoming a severe problem in the pavement industry globally. To address this issue, in this study, an effort was made to use reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) and coal gangue (CG) as coarse and fine aggregate, respectively for producing the hot mix asphalt (HMA). As the replacement of natural aggregate, there were seven types of HMA containing 20% and 40% RAP coarse aggregate content, and 10% and 25% CG fine aggregate content were designed and prepared. In addition, Marshall Stability test, rutting resistance test, immersion Marshall test, freezing-thaw splitting test, moisture-induced sensitivity test, and low-temperature… More > Graphic Abstract

    Abstract

People who are deaf or have difficulty speaking use sign language, which consists of hand gestures with particular motions that symbolize the “language” they are communicating. A gesture in a sign language is a particular movement of the hands with a specific shape from the fingers and whole hand. In this paper, we present an Intelligent for Deaf/Dumb People approach in real time based on Deep Learning using Gloves (IDLG). The approach IDLG offers scientific contributions based deep-learning, a multi-mode command techniques, real-time, and effective use, and high accuracy rates. For this purpose, smart gloves working in real time were… More >
