    Yuwei Chen1, 2, Yuling Chen1, *, Yu Yang1, 2, Xinda Hao2, Ning Wang2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.62, No.3, pp. 1259-1271, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.06723

Abstract Local binary pattern (LBP) is one of the most advanced image classification recognition operators and is commonly used in texture detection area. Research indicates that LBP also has a good application prospect in steganalysis. However, the existing LBP-based steganalysis algorithms are only capable to detect the least significant bit (LSB) and the least significant bit matching (LSBM) algorithms. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a steganalysis model called msdeLTP, which is based on multi-scale local ternary patterns (LTP) and derivative filters. The main characteristics of the msdeLTP are as follows: First, to reduce the interference of image content on… More >

Modulation of IL-10/IL-10R expression by mafosfamide, a derivative of 4-hydroxycyclophosphamide, in a rat B-cell lymphoma

    MARÍA J. RICO*1,2, PABLO MATAR*1,2, O. GRACIELA SCHAROVSKY1,3

    BIOCELL, Vol.36, No.2, pp. 91-95, 2012, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2012.36.091

Abstract We have already shown that IL-10 plays an important role in immunosuppression and metastatic dissemination in the rat B-cell lymphoma L-TACB model. It was suggested that the up-regulation of IL10 production and IL-10 receptor (IL-10R) expression would be part of the transition from primary tumor to metastatic phenotype and that IL-10, besides its immunosuppressive activity, may act as a growth factor for metastatic L-TACB cells. The treatment of L-TACB-bearing rats with a single low-dose cyclophosphamide decreased IL-10 production, reverted immunosuppression and induced the immunologic rejection of tumor metastasis without any effect on primary tumor growth. Our current aim was to… More >

In vitro effects of 2-methoxyestradiol-bis-sulphamate on cell growth, morphology and cell cycle dynamics in the MCF-7 breast adenocarcinoma cell line

    CHRIS VORSTER, ANNIE JOUBERT

    BIOCELL, Vol.34, No.2, pp. 71-80, 2010, DOI:10.32604/biocell.2010.34.071

Abstract In the search for new and improved anticancer therapies, researchers have identified several potentially useful compounds. One of these agents is 2-methoxyestradiol-bis-sulphamate (2ME-BM), a sulphamoylated derivative of 2-methoxyestradiol. The objective of this study was to evaluate 2ME-BM’s in vitro efficacy as antiproliferative agent in the MCF-7 breast adenocarcinoma cell line. Light- and fluorescent microscopy showed decreased cell density, increased apoptotic characteristics and significant ultrastructural aberrations indicative of autophagic cell death after 24 hours of exposure at a concentration of 0.4μM. In addition, mitotic indices revealed that 2ME-BM induces a G2M block. The latter was confirmed by flow cytometric analyses where… More >

    Mahdi Saedshoar Heris1, Mohammad Javidi1, Bashir Ahmad2,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.121, No.1, pp. 249-272, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2019.08080

Abstract In this paper, we propose numerical methods for the Riesz space fractional advection-dispersion equations with delay (RFADED). We utilize the fractional backward differential formulas method of second order (FBDF2) and weighted shifted Grünwald difference (WSGD) operators to approximate the Riesz fractional derivative and present the finite difference method for the RFADED. Firstly, the FBDF2 and the shifted Grünwald methods are introduced. Secondly, based on the FBDF2 method and the WSGD operators, the finite difference method is applied to the problem. We also show that our numerical schemes are conditionally stable and convergent with the accuracy of O(k+ h2) and O(k2More >

Solving the Nonlinear Variable Order Fractional Differential Equations by Using Euler Wavelets

    Yanxin Wang1, *, Li Zhu1, Zhi Wang1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.118, No.2, pp. 339-350, 2019, DOI:10.31614/cmes.2019.04575

Abstract An Euler wavelets method is proposed to solve a class of nonlinear variable order fractional differential equations in this paper. The properties of Euler wavelets and their operational matrix together with a family of piecewise functions are first presented. Then they are utilized to reduce the problem to the solution of a nonlinear system of algebraic equations. And the convergence of the Euler wavelets basis is given. The method is computationally attractive and some numerical examples are provided to illustrate its high accuracy. More >

    M. Dehghan1, M. Abbaszadeh2, A. Mohebbi3

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.107, No.6, pp. 481-516, 2015, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2015.107.481

Abstract In the current paper the two-dimensional time fractional Klein-Kramers equation which describes the subdiffusion in the presence of an external force field in phase space has been considered. The numerical solution of fractional Klein-Kramers equation is investigated. The proposed method is based on using finite difference scheme in time variable for obtaining a semi-discrete scheme. Also, to achieve a full discretization scheme, the Kansa's approach and meshless local Petrov-Galerkin technique are used to approximate the spatial derivatives. The meshless method has already proved successful in solving classic and fractional differential equations as well as for several other engineering and physical… More >

Expression for the Gradient of the First Normal Derivative of the Velocity Potential

    Zai You Yan1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.46, No.1, pp. 1-20, 2009, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2009.046.001

Abstract It is well-known that the velocity potential and its first normal derivative on the structure surface can be easily found in the boundary element method for problems of potential flow. Based on an investigation in progress, the gradient of the normal derivative of the velocity potential will be very helpful in the treatment of the so-called hypersingular integral. Through a coordinate transformation, such gradient can be expressed by the combination of the first and the second normal derivatives of the velocity potential. Then one interesting problem is how to find the second normal derivative of the velocity potential through the… More >

The regularized indirect algorithm in BEM for calculating values on and near boundaries

    H.B. Chen

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.20, No.4, pp. 105-106, 2011, DOI:10.3970/icces.2011.020.105

Abstract The calculation of field values and their derivatives near the domain boundary through the boundary element method (BEM) will meet the nearly singularity problem, i.e. the boundary layer effect problem. The tangential derivatives of field values on the boundary often meet an obvious deduction of calculation accuracy. An effective algorithm was proposed by Chen et al. [1,2] to treat these two problems in the same time in elastic BEM and it was recently extended to calculate the second derivative values in potential problem [3]. This algorithm is based on the regularized formulations and is now called the regularized indirect algorithm.… More >

Characterizing the Ultra-Slow Creep in Concrete Based on the Non-Local Structural Derivative Maxwell Model

Xianglong Su*, Wenxiang Xu, Wen Chen

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.21, No.4, pp. 77-77, 2019, DOI:10.32604/icces.2019.05090

Abstract Creep of concrete can last for decades, which displays the ultra-slow rheological phenomena. As an empirical formula, the logarithmic law is usually used to describe the ultra-slow creep. However, the logarithmic law does not always work well especially for the long-term creep. And its corresponding relaxation response cannot be obtained analytically. It is known that the Mittag-Leffler and the inverse Mittag-Leffler functions are generalized from the exponential and the logarithmic functions, respectively. And the inverse Mittag-Leffler function is much slower and generalized than the logarithmic function. In this paper, we use the non-local structural derivative to establish a new Maxwell-type… More >
