    Haoyu Fu1,2,3, Hua Liu1,2, Xiaohu Hu1,2, Lei Wang1,2,3,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.137, No.3, pp. 2285-2309, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.027996 - 03 August 2023

Abstract Well interference has become a common phenomenon with the increasing scale of horizontal well fracturing. Recent studies on well interference in horizontal wells do not properly reflect the physical model of the postfracturing well groups and the realistic fracturing process of infill wells. Establishing the correspondence between well interference causative factors and manifestations is of great significance for infill well deployment and secondary oil recovery. In this work, we develop a numerical model that considers low velocity non-Darcy seepage in shale reservoirs to study the inter-well interference phenomenon that occurs in the Santanghu field, and… More >

Abstract Four numerical schemes are introduced for the analysis of photocurrent transients in organic photovoltaic devices. The mathematical model for organic polymer solar cells contains a nonlinear diffusion–reaction partial differential equation system with electrostatic convection attached to a kinetic ordinary differential equation. To solve the problem, Polynomial-based differential quadrature, Sinc, and Discrete singular convolution are combined with block marching techniques. These schemes are employed to reduce the problem to a nonlinear algebraic system. The iterative quadrature technique is used to solve the reduced problem. The obtained results agreed with the previous exact one and the finite More > Graphic Abstract

Parameterization Transfer for a Planar Computational Domain in Isogeometric Analysis

Jinlan Xu*, Shuxin Xiao, Gang Xu, Renshu Gu

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.137, No.2, pp. 1957-1973, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.028665 - 26 June 2023

Abstract In this paper, we propose a parameterization transfer algorithm for planar domains bounded by B-spline curves, where the shapes of the planar domains are similar. The domain geometries are considered to be similar if their simplified skeletons have the same structures. One domain we call source domain, and it is parameterized using multi-patch B-spline surfaces. The resulting parameterization is C1 continuous in the regular region and G1 continuous around singular points regardless of whether the parameterization of the source domain is C1/G1 continuous or not. In this algorithm, boundary control points of the source domain… More >

A Novel Color Image Watermarking Method with Adaptive Scaling Factor Using Similarity-Based Edge Region

    Kali Gurkahraman1,*, Rukiye Karakis2, Hidayet Takci1

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.47, No.1, pp. 55-77, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.037798 - 26 May 2023

Abstract This study aimed to deal with three challenges: robustness, imperceptibility, and capacity in the image watermarking field. To reach a high capacity, a novel similarity-based edge detection algorithm was developed that finds more edge points than traditional techniques. The colored watermark image was created by inserting a randomly generated message on the edge points detected by this algorithm. To ensure robustness and imperceptibility, watermark and cover images were combined in the high-frequency subbands using Discrete Wavelet Transform and Singular Value Decomposition. In the watermarking stage, the watermark image was weighted by the adaptive scaling factor More >

Krishna Santosh Naidana, Soubhagya Sankar Barpanda*

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.47, No.1, pp. 699-720, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.036744 - 26 May 2023

Abstract Glaucoma is a group of ocular atrophy diseases that cause progressive vision loss by affecting the optic nerve. Because of its asymptomatic nature, glaucoma has become the leading cause of human blindness worldwide. In this paper, a novel computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) approach for glaucomatous retinal image classification has been introduced. It extracts graph-based texture features from structurally improved fundus images using discrete wavelet-transformation (DWT) and deterministic tree-walk (DTW) procedures. Retinal images are considered from both public repositories and eye hospitals. Images are enhanced with image-specific luminance and gradient transitions for both contrast and texture improvement.… More >

Abstract In this work, an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) based technique is suggested for classifying the faults which occur in hybrid power distribution systems. Power, which is generated by the solar and wind energy-based hybrid system, is given to the grid at the Point of Common Coupling (PCC). A boost converter along with perturb and observe (P&O) algorithm is utilized in this system to obtain a constant link voltage. In contrast, the link voltage of the wind energy conversion system (WECS) is retained with the assistance of a Proportional Integral (PI) controller. The grid synchronization is… More >

Abstract This paper introduces an efficient image cryptography system. The proposed image cryptography system is based on employing the two-dimensional (2D) chaotic henon map (CHM) in the Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT). The proposed DFT-based CHM image cryptography has two procedures which are the encryption and decryption procedures. In the proposed DFT-based CHM image cryptography, the confusion is employed using the CHM while the diffusion is realized using the DFT. So, the proposed DFT-based CHM image cryptography achieves both confusion and diffusion characteristics. The encryption procedure starts by applying the DFT on the image then the DFT More >
