    T. R. Manikandan*, Venkatesan Thangavelu

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.1, pp. 431-447, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.026546

Abstract The purpose of the Combined Economic Emission Dispatch (CEED) of electric power is to offer the most exceptional schedule for production units, which must run with both low fuel costs and emission levels concurrently, thereby meeting the lack of system equality and inequality constraints. Economic and emissions dispatching has become a primary and significant concern in power system networks. Consequences of using non-renewable fuels as input to exhaust power systems with toxic gas emissions and depleted resources for future generations. The optimal power allocation to generators serves as a solution to this problem. Emission dispatch reduces emissions while ignoring economic… More >

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.43, No.2, pp. 559-571, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.026948

Abstract With the development and application of energy Internet technology, the collaborative interaction of “source network, load and storage” has become the development trend of power grid dispatching. The large-scale access of renewable energy on the load side, the unified management of adjustable loads, and the participation of multiple parties in energy operations have put forward requirements for the safety, credibility, openness, and transparency of the load dispatching environment. Under the environment of carbon emission reduction, the paper proposed an architecture of the scheduling data blockchain, based on the in-depth study of blockchain. Moreover, smart contracts are used to realize the… More >

Xin Zhang*, Jinpeng Jiang, Haoran Zheng, Jihong Zhang

    Energy Engineering, Vol.119, No.3, pp. 1117-1140, 2022, DOI:10.32604/ee.2022.017288

Abstract China consumes significant amount of natural gas in winter. The integrated community energy utilization system (ICEUS) cannot stabilize the output of electricity and heat if there is a shortage of natural gas. The operation cost of the system still needs improvement. An energy supply structure using garbage power as the core of ICEUS was established in the study. The optimal dispatching model of ICEUS was established using the regulating characteristic of the community load. The sine-cosine algorithm (SCA) based on nonlinear factors and segmented weight was presented to solve the optimal dispatching model of ICEUS. From the simulation results, compared… More >

Estimation of Locational Marginal Pricing Using Hybrid Optimization Algorithms

    M. Bhoopathi1,*, P. Palanivel2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.31, No.1, pp. 143-159, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.017705

Abstract At present, the restructured electricity market has been a prominent research area and attracted attention. The motivation of the restructuring in the power system is to introduce the competition at various levels and to generate a correct economic signal to reduce the generation cost. As a result, it is required to have an effective price scheme to deliver useful information about the power. The pricing mechanism is dependent on the demand at the load level, the generator bids, and the limits of the transmission network. To address the congestion charges, Locational Marginal Pricing (LMP) is utilized in restructured electricity markets.… More >

Abstract Economic dispatch has a significant effect on optimal economical operation in the power systems in industrial revolution 4.0 in terms of considerable savings in revenue. Various non-linearity are added to make the fossil fuel-based power systems more practical. In order to achieve an accurate economical schedule, valve point loading effect, ramp rate constraints, and prohibited operating zones are being considered for realistic scenarios. In this paper, an improved, and modified version of conventional particle swarm optimization (PSO), called Oscillatory PSO (OPSO), is devised to provide a cheaper schedule with optimum cost. The conventional PSO is improved by deriving a mechanism… More >

A Mathematical Task Dispatching Model in Wireless Sensor Actor Networks

    Morteza Okhovvat, Mohammad Reza Kangavari*

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.34, No.1, pp. 5-12, 2019, DOI:10.32604/csse.2019.34.005

Abstract In this paper, we propose a mathematical task dispatching model to reduce the total tasks completion time, i.e. make-span, in Wireless Sensor Actor Networks (WSANs). The proposed approach minimizes the completion time of tasks that have been allocated to actors but have not yet been dispatched to actors for execution in the networks. We calculate the best rate of dispatching of tasks by the network sink to allocated actors through a steady state analysis of our proposed model to solve equations and inequalities. It is shown that this dispatching rate improves the network lifetime too. Experimental results with a prototyped… More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.115, No.1, pp. 25-45, 2018, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2018.115.025

Abstract A new and efficient Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO) algorithm is implemented to solve real power economic dispatch (RPED) problems in this paper. The nonlinear RPED problem is one the most important and fundamental optimization problem which reduces the total cost in generating real power without violating the constraints. Conventional methods can solve the ELD problem with good solution quality with assumptions assigned to fuel cost curves without which these methods lead to suboptimal or infeasible solutions. The behavior of grey wolves which is mimicked in the GWO algorithm are leadership hierarchy and hunting mechanism. The leadership hierarchy is simulated using… More >
