Caixia Tao, Shize Yang*, Taiguo Li

    Energy Engineering, Vol.121, No.1, pp. 187-201, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.042421

Abstract With the current integration of distributed energy resources into the grid, the structure of distribution networks is becoming more complex. This complexity significantly expands the solution space in the optimization process for network reconstruction using intelligent algorithms. Consequently, traditional intelligent algorithms frequently encounter insufficient search accuracy and become trapped in local optima. To tackle this issue, a more advanced particle swarm optimization algorithm is proposed. To address the varying emphases at different stages of the optimization process, a dynamic strategy is implemented to regulate the social and self-learning factors. The Metropolis criterion is introduced into the simulated annealing algorithm to… More >

    Hua Leng1, Silin He2, Jian Qiu3, Feng Liu4,*, Xinfei Huang4, Jiran Zhu2

    Energy Engineering, Vol.121, No.1, pp. 77-94, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.028340

Abstract The distribution network exhibits complex structural characteristics, which makes fault localization a challenging task. Especially when a branch of the multi-branch distribution network fails, the traditional multi-branch fault location algorithm makes it difficult to meet the demands of high-precision fault localization in the multi-branch distribution network system. In this paper, the multi-branch mainline is decomposed into single branch lines, transforming the complex multi-branch fault location problem into a double-ended fault location problem. Based on the different transmission characteristics of the fault-traveling wave in fault lines and non-fault lines, the endpoint reference time difference matrix S and the fault time difference… More >

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.20, No.2, pp. 447-461, 2024, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.042220

Abstract Clay, as the most common soil used for foundation fill, is widely used in various infrastructure projects. The physical and mechanical properties of clay are influenced by the pore solution environment. This study uses a GDS static/dynamic triaxial apparatus and nuclear magnetic resonance experiments to investigate the effects of cyclic loading on clay foundations. Moreover, the development of cumulative strain in clay is analyzed, and a fitting model for cumulative plastic strain is introduced by considering factors such as NaCl solution concentration, consolidation stress ratio, and cycle number. In particular, the effects of the NaCl solution concentration and consolidation stress… More >

Gate-Attention and Dual-End Enhancement Mechanism for Multi-Label Text Classification

    Jieren Cheng1,2, Xiaolong Chen1,*, Wenghang Xu3, Shuai Hua3, Zhu Tang1, Victor S. Sheng4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.77, No.2, pp. 1779-1793, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.042980

Abstract In the realm of Multi-Label Text Classification (MLTC), the dual challenges of extracting rich semantic features from text and discerning inter-label relationships have spurred innovative approaches. Many studies in semantic feature extraction have turned to external knowledge to augment the model’s grasp of textual content, often overlooking intrinsic textual cues such as label statistical features. In contrast, these endogenous insights naturally align with the classification task. In our paper, to complement this focus on intrinsic knowledge, we introduce a novel Gate-Attention mechanism. This mechanism adeptly integrates statistical features from the text itself into the semantic fabric, enhancing the model’s capacity… More >

    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.12, pp. 2839-2856, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.042042

Abstract The N-1 criterion is a critical factor for ensuring the reliable and resilient operation of electric power distribution networks. However, the increasing complexity of distribution networks and the associated growth in data size have created a significant challenge for distribution network planners. To address this issue, we propose a fast N-1 verification procedure for urban distribution networks that combines CIM file data analysis with MILP-based mathematical modeling. Our proposed method leverages the principles of CIM file analysis for distribution network N-1 analysis. We develop a mathematical model of distribution networks based on CIM data and transfer it into MILP. We… More >

    Jingjing Gao, Xingkai Zhang*

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.20, No.1, pp. 109-127, 2024, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.030106

Abstract A new approach and a new related distribution system are proposed to address the issue of uneven steam injection caused by the different suction capacities of the used wells during the application of steam “stimulation” methods for enhanced oil recovery. The new distribution system consists of a swirler, spiral dividing baffles, and critical flow nozzles. Numerical simulations are used to analyze the flow-field and degree of steam homogeneity obtained with such an approach. The results indicate that a higher inlet pressure leads to better results. Additionally, the internal flow field becomes more stable, and the deviation from an even distribution… More >

    Zihan Qi*

    Energy Engineering, Vol.120, No.11, pp. 2547-2563, 2023, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.027045

Abstract A novel operation control method for relay protection in flexible DC distribution networks with distributed power supply is proposed to address the issue of inaccurate fault location during relay protection, leading to poor performance. The method combines a fault-tolerant fault location method based on long-term and short-term memory networks to accurately locate the fault section. Then, an operation control method for relay protection based on adaptive weight and whale optimization algorithm (WOA) is used to construct an objective function considering the shortest relay protection action time and the smallest impulse current. The adaptive weight and WOA are employed to obtain… More >
