Abstract In the cloud environment, ensuring a high level of data security is in high demand. Data planning storage optimization is part of the whole security process in the cloud environment. It enables data security by avoiding the risk of data loss and data overlapping. The development of data flow scheduling approaches in the cloud environment taking security parameters into account is insufficient. In our work, we propose a data scheduling model for the cloud environment. The model is made up of three parts that together help dispatch user data flow to the appropriate cloud VMs. The first component is the… More >

    Energy Engineering, Vol.121, No.2, pp. 499-521, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.042702

Abstract Distribution generation (DG) technology based on a variety of renewable energy technologies has developed rapidly. A large number of multi-type DG are connected to the distribution network (DN), resulting in a decline in the stability of DN operation. It is urgent to find a method that can effectively connect multi-energy DG to DN. photovoltaic (PV), wind power generation (WPG), fuel cell (FC), and micro gas turbine (MGT) are considered in this paper. A multi-objective optimization model was established based on the life cycle cost (LCC) of DG, voltage quality, voltage fluctuation, system network loss, power deviation of the tie-line, DG… More >

    Wei Wang1, Yang Yu1, Simin Luo2,*, Wenlin Liu2, Wei Tang1, Yuanbo Ye1

    Energy Engineering, Vol.121, No.2, pp. 315-337, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.042082

Abstract As an effective approach to achieve the “dual-carbon” goal, the grid-connected capacity of renewable energy increases constantly. Photovoltaics are the most widely used renewable energy sources and have been applied on various occasions. However, the inherent randomness, intermittency, and weak support of grid-connected equipment not only cause changes in the original flow characteristics of the grid but also result in complex fault characteristics. Traditional overcurrent and differential protection methods cannot respond accurately due to the effects of unknown renewable energy sources. Therefore, a longitudinal protection method based on virtual measurement of current restraint is proposed in this paper. The positive… More >

Liang Liu, Guangda Xu*, Yuan Zhao, Yi Lu, Yu Li, Jing Gao

    Energy Engineering, Vol.121, No.2, pp. 377-404, 2024, DOI:10.32604/ee.2023.041311

Abstract The couple between the power network and the transportation network (TN) is deepening gradually with the increasing penetration rate of electric vehicles (EV), which also poses a great challenge to the traditional voltage control scheme. In this paper, we propose a coordinated voltage control strategy for the active distribution networks considering multiple types of EV. In the first stage, the action of on-load tap changer and capacitor banks, etc., are determined by optimal power flow calculation, and the node electricity price is also determined based on dynamic time-of-use tariff mechanism. In the second stage, multiple operating scenarios of multiple types… More >

    Xin Ai1,2,*, Mian Chen1

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.20, No.3, pp. 661-670, 2024, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.026819

    Abstract

The efficient development and exploitation of shale oil depends on long-distance horizontal wells. As the degree of cleaning of the wellbore plays a key role in these processes, in this study, this problem is investigated experimentally by focusing on the dimensionless cuttings bed height. A method is proposed to calculate the horizontal-well hydraulic extension taking into account the influence of the wellbore cleaning degree on the wellbore pressure distribution and assess the effect of a variety of factors such as the bottom hole pressure, the circulating pressure drop, the drilling pump performance and the formation properties. The analysis shows that… More >

The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.27, No.3, pp. 1-1, 2023, DOI:10.32604/icces.2023.09220

Abstract The thermomechanical response and potential cracking in nuclear fuel rods are extremely important for nuclear safety analysis. The Pellet-Clad Mechanical Interaction (PCMI) is a significant factor for the thermomechanical behaviors of pellet and clad. This study presents a PCMI model based on ordinary statebased peridynamic (OSB-PD) theory, which considering the heat transfer through the gap and contact heat transfer between pellet and clad. The two-dimensional (2D) models are constructed through irregular nonuniform discretization. The pellet model includes the random variability of the critical stretch of each bond based on normal distribution. The contact model with non-uniform discretization is proposed in… More >

Abstract Elastography is a non-invasive medical imaging technique to map the spatial variation of elastic properties of soft tissues. The quality of reconstruction results in elastography is highly sensitive to the noise induced by imaging measurements and processing. To address this issue, we propose a deep learning (DL) model based on conditional Generative Adversarial Networks (cGANs) to improve the quality of nonhomogeneous shear modulus reconstruction. To train this model, we generated a synthetic displacement field with finite element simulation under known nonhomogeneous shear modulus distribution. Both the simulated and experimental displacement fields are used to validate the proposed method. The reconstructed… More >

Spatial Distribution Feature Extraction Network for Open Set Recognition of Electromagnetic Signal

    Hui Zhang1, Huaji Zhou2,*, Li Wang1, Feng Zhou1,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.139, No.1, pp. 279-296, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.031497

Abstract This paper proposes a novel open set recognition method, the Spatial Distribution Feature Extraction Network (SDFEN), to address the problem of electromagnetic signal recognition in an open environment. The spatial distribution feature extraction layer in SDFEN replaces convolutional output neural networks with the spatial distribution features that focus more on inter-sample information by incorporating class center vectors. The designed hybrid loss function considers both intra-class distance and inter-class distance, thereby enhancing the similarity among samples of the same class and increasing the dissimilarity between samples of different classes during training. Consequently, this method allows unknown classes to occupy a larger… More >

    Hangtian Song1,2, Xudong Chen1,2, Chun Zhu3, Qian Yin4, Wei Wang1,2, Qingxiang Meng1,2,*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.139, No.1, pp. 337-359, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.031496

Abstract When the geological environment of rock masses is disturbed, numerous non-persisting open joints can appear within it. It is crucial to investigate the effect of open joints on the mechanical properties of rock mass. However, it has been challenging to generate realistic open joints in traditional experimental tests and numerical simulations. This paper presents a novel solution to solve the problem. By utilizing the stochastic distribution of joints and an enhanced-fractal interpolation system (IFS) method, rough curves with any orientation can be generated. The Douglas-Peucker algorithm is then applied to simplify these curves by removing unnecessary points while preserving their… More > Graphic Abstract

Multi-Equipment Detection Method for Distribution Lines Based on Improved YOLOx-s

    Lei Hu1,*, Yuanwen Lu1, Si Wang2, Wenbin Wang3, Yongmei Zhang4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.77, No.3, pp. 2735-2749, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.042974

Abstract The YOLOx-s network does not sufficiently meet the accuracy demand of equipment detection in the autonomous inspection of distribution lines by Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) due to the complex background of distribution lines, variable morphology of equipment, and large differences in equipment sizes. Therefore, aiming at the difficult detection of power equipment in UAV inspection images, we propose a multi-equipment detection method for inspection of distribution lines based on the YOLOx-s. Based on the YOLOx-s network, we make the following improvements: 1) The Receptive Field Block (RFB) module is added after the shallow feature layer of the backbone network to… More >
