    S. Balammal@Geetha*, R. Muthukkumar, V. Seenivasagam

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.31, No.3, pp. 1737-1752, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.018822

Abstract Content-Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) is an approach of retrieving similar images from a large image database. Recently CBIR poses new challenges in semantic categorization of the images. Different feature extraction technique have been proposed to overcome the semantic breach problems, however these methods suffer from several shortcomings. This paper contributes an image retrieval system to extract the local features based on the fusion of scale-invariant feature transform (SIFT) and KAZE. The strength of local feature descriptor SIFT complements global feature descriptor KAZE. SIFT concentrates on the complete region of an image using high fine points of features and KAZE ponders… More >

    K. Sangeetha1,*, D. Prabha2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.40, No.2, pp. 735-747, 2022, DOI:10.32604/csse.2022.019310

Abstract Educational institutions showing interest to find the opinion of the students about their course and the instructors to enhance the teaching-learning process. For this, most research uses sentiment analysis to track students’ behavior. Traditional sentence-level sentiment analysis focuses on the whole sentence sentiment. Previous studies show that the sentiments alone are not enough to observe the feeling of the students because different words express different sentiments in a sentence. There is a need to extract the targets in a given sentence which helps to find the sentiment towards those targets. Target extraction is the subtask of targeted sentiment analysis. In… More >

Abstract Searching images from the large image databases is one of the potential research areas of multimedia research. The most challenging task for nay CBIR system is to capture the high level semantic of user. The researchers of multimedia domain are trying to fix this issue with the help of Relevance Feedback (RF). However existing RF based approaches needs a number of iteration to fulfill user's requirements. This paper proposed a novel methodology to achieve better results in early iteration to reduce the user interaction with the system. In previous research work it is reported that SVM based RF approach generating… More >

Duffing Oscillator’s Vibration Control under Resonance with a Negative Velocity Feedback Control and Time Delay

    Y. A. Amer1, Taher A. Bahnasy2,*

    Sound & Vibration, Vol.55, No.3, pp. 191-201, 2021, DOI:10.32604/sv.2021.014358

Abstract An externally excited Duffing oscillator under feedback control is discussed and analyzed under the worst resonance case. Multiple time scales method is applied for this system to find analytic solution with the existence and nonexistence of the time delay on control loop. An appropriate stability analysis is also performed and appropriate choices for the feedback gains and the time delay are found in order to reduce the amplitude peak. Different response curves are involved to show and compare controller effects. In addition, analytic solutions are compared with numerical approximation solutions using Rung-Kutta method of fourth order. More >

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.39, No.1, pp. 69-85, 2021, DOI:10.32604/csse.2021.016475

Abstract The two-dimensional (2-D) system has a wide range of applications in different fields, including satellite meteorological maps, process control, and digital filtering. Therefore, the research on the stability of 2-D systems is of great significance. Considering that multiple systems exist in switching and alternating work in the actual production process, but the system itself often has external perturbation and interference. To solve the above problems, this paper investigates the output feedback robust H stabilization for a class of discrete-time 2-D switched systems, which the Roesser model with uncertainties represents. First, sufficient conditions for exponential stability are derived via the average… More >
