    Shuiping Zhang1,2, Xi Liang3, Lin Shi2, Lei Yan4, Jun Tang1,2,*

    Sound & Vibration, Vol.57, pp. 29-44, 2023, DOI:10.32604/sv.2023.041350 - 07 September 2023

Abstract The filter-x least mean square (FxLMS) algorithm is widely used in active noise control (ANC) systems. However, because the algorithm is a feedback control algorithm based on the minimization of the error signal variance to update the filter coefficients, it has a certain delay, usually has a slow convergence speed, and the system response time is long and easily affected by the learning rate leading to the lack of system stability, which often fails to achieve the desired control effect in practice. In this paper, we propose an active control algorithm with nearest-neighbor trap structure… More > Graphic Abstract

    R. Vanalakshmi1, S. Maragathasundari1,*, M. Kameswari1, B. Balamurugan2, C. Swedheetha3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.37, No.2, pp. 1399-1419, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.038506 - 21 June 2023

Abstract Queuing models are used to assess the functionality and aesthetics of SCADA systems for supervisory control and data collection. Here, the main emphasis is on how the queuing theory can be used in the system’s design and analysis. The analysis’s findings indicate that by using queuing models, cost-performance ratios close to the ideal might be attained. This article discusses a novel methodology for evaluating the service-oriented survivability of SCADA systems. In order to evaluate the state of service performance and the system’s overall resilience, the framework applies queuing theory to an analytical model. As a More >

Adaptive Kernel Firefly Algorithm Based Feature Selection and Q-Learner Machine Learning Models in Cloud

    I. Mettildha Mary1,*, K. Karuppasamy2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.46, No.3, pp. 2667-2685, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.031114 - 03 April 2023

Abstract CC’s (Cloud Computing) networks are distributed and dynamic as signals appear/disappear or lose significance. MLTs (Machine learning Techniques) train datasets which sometime are inadequate in terms of sample for inferring information. A dynamic strategy, DevMLOps (Development Machine Learning Operations) used in automatic selections and tunings of MLTs result in significant performance differences. But, the scheme has many disadvantages including continuity in training, more samples and training time in feature selections and increased classification execution times. RFEs (Recursive Feature Eliminations) are computationally very expensive in its operations as it traverses through each feature without considering correlations More >

An Endogenous Feedback and Entropy Analysis in Machine Learning Model for Stock’s Return Forecast

Edson Vinicius Pontes Bastos1,*, Jorge Junio Moreira Antunes2, Lino Guimarães Marujo1, Peter Fernandes Wanke2, Roberto Ivo da Rocha Lima Filho1

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.3, pp. 3175-3190, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.034582 - 15 March 2023

Abstract Stock markets exhibit Brownian movement with random, non-linear, uncertain, evolutionary, non-parametric, nebulous, chaotic characteristics and dynamism with a high degree of complexity. Developing an algorithm to predict returns for decision-making is a challenging goal. In addition, the choice of variables that will serve as input to the model represents a non-triviality, since it is possible to observe endogeneity problems between the predictor and the predicted variables. Thus, the goal is to analyze the endogenous origin of the stock return prediction model based on technical indicators. For this, we structure a feed-forward neural network. We evaluate More >

Fuzzy Feedback Control for Electro-Hydraulic Actuators

    Tan Nguyen Van1, Huy Q. Tran2,*, Vinh Xuan Ha3, Cheolkeun Ha4, Phu Huynh Minh1

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.2, pp. 2441-2456, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.033368 - 05 January 2023

Abstract Electro-hydraulic actuators (EHA) have recently played a significant role in modern industrial applications, especially in systems requiring extremely high precision. This can be explained by EHA’s ability to precisely control the position and force through advanced sensors and innovative control algorithms. One of the promising approaches to improve control accuracy for EHA systems is applying classical to modern control algorithms, in which the proportional–integral–derivative (PID) algorithm, fuzzy logic controller, and a hybrid of these methods are popular options. In this paper, we developed a novel version of the fuzzy control algorithm and linear feedback control… More >

Abstract In today’s society with advanced Internet, the amount of information increases dramatically with each passing day, which leads to increasingly complex processes of open-source intelligence. Therefore, it is more important to rationalize the operation mode and improve the operation efficiency of open-source intelligence under the premise of satisfying users’ needs. This paper focuses on the simulation study of the process system of opensource intelligence from the user’s perspective. First, the basic concept and development status of open-source intelligence are introduced in details. Second, six existing intelligence operation process models are summarized and their advantages and… More >

    Chih-Fang Huang1,*, Ai-Hsien Fan2, Jin-Huang Huang3, Hsing-Cheng Huang3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.1, pp. 661-673, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.027165 - 06 June 2022

Abstract This study applies the diatonic chord in music theory, utilization rate, and the close relationship between the main chord system, the dominant chord system, and the subordinate chord system. From the perspective of music theory, the computer can automatically and quickly analyze the music, and establish a set of algorithms for configuring the chord accompaniment for the main melody, called the symmetrical circle of fifths algorithm, SCFA (Symmetrical Circle of Fifths Algorithm). SCFA can immediately confirm the key, perform harmony analysis, configure chord accompaniment for the main melody, and effectively and correctly complete any given More >

Design and Implementation of a State-feedback Controller Using LQR Technique

    Aamir Shahzad1,*, Shadi Munshi2, Sufyan Azam2, Muhammad Nasir Khan3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.2, pp. 2897-2911, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.028441 - 16 June 2022

Abstract The main objective of this research is to design a state-feedback controller for the rotary inverted pendulum module utilizing the linear quadratic regulator (LQR) technique. The controller maintains the pendulum in the inverted (upright) position and is robust enough to reject external disturbance to maintain its stability. The research work involves three major contributions: mathematical modeling, simulation, and real-time implementation. To design a controller, mathematical modeling has been done by employing the Newton-Euler, Lagrange method. The resulting model was nonlinear so linearization was required, which has been done around a working point. For the estimation of the controller More >

    Y. A. Amer1, A. T. EL-Sayed2, M. N. Abd EL-Salam3,*

    Sound & Vibration, Vol.56, No.2, pp. 89-104, 2022, DOI:10.32604/sv.2022.011838 - 25 March 2022

Abstract In our consideration, a comparison between four different types of controllers for suppression the vibrations of the cantilever beam excited by an external force is carried out. Those four types are the linear velocity feedback control, the cubic velocity feedback control, the non-linear saturation controller (NSC) and the positive position feedback (PPF) controller. The suitable type is the PPF controller for suppression the vibrations of the cantilever beam. The approximate solution obtained up to the first approximation by using the multiple scale method. The PPF controller effectiveness is studied on the system. We used frequency-response More >
