    Tan Nguyen Van1, Huy Q. Tran2,*, Vinh Xuan Ha3, Cheolkeun Ha4, Phu Huynh Minh1

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.2, pp. 2441-2456, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.033368

Abstract Electro-hydraulic actuators (EHA) have recently played a significant role in modern industrial applications, especially in systems requiring extremely high precision. This can be explained by EHA’s ability to precisely control the position and force through advanced sensors and innovative control algorithms. One of the promising approaches to improve control accuracy for EHA systems is applying classical to modern control algorithms, in which the proportional–integral–derivative (PID) algorithm, fuzzy logic controller, and a hybrid of these methods are popular options. In this paper, we developed a novel version of the fuzzy control algorithm and linear feedback control method, namely fuzzy linear feedback… More >

Design and Implementation of a State-feedback Controller Using LQR Technique

    Aamir Shahzad1,*, Shadi Munshi2, Sufyan Azam2, Muhammad Nasir Khan3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.2, pp. 2897-2911, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.028441

Abstract The main objective of this research is to design a state-feedback controller for the rotary inverted pendulum module utilizing the linear quadratic regulator (LQR) technique. The controller maintains the pendulum in the inverted (upright) position and is robust enough to reject external disturbance to maintain its stability. The research work involves three major contributions: mathematical modeling, simulation, and real-time implementation. To design a controller, mathematical modeling has been done by employing the Newton-Euler, Lagrange method. The resulting model was nonlinear so linearization was required, which has been done around a working point. For the estimation of the controller parameters, MATLAB… More >

Main Melody Configuration and Chord Algorithm for Relaxing Music Generation

    Chih-Fang Huang1,*, Ai-Hsien Fan2, Jin-Huang Huang3, Hsing-Cheng Huang3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.35, No.1, pp. 661-673, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.027165

Abstract This study applies the diatonic chord in music theory, utilization rate, and the close relationship between the main chord system, the dominant chord system, and the subordinate chord system. From the perspective of music theory, the computer can automatically and quickly analyze the music, and establish a set of algorithms for configuring the chord accompaniment for the main melody, called the symmetrical circle of fifths algorithm, SCFA (Symmetrical Circle of Fifths Algorithm). SCFA can immediately confirm the key, perform harmony analysis, configure chord accompaniment for the main melody, and effectively and correctly complete any given melody or interval. It can… More >

    Y. A. Amer1, A. T. EL-Sayed2, M. N. Abd EL-Salam3,*

    Sound & Vibration, Vol.56, No.2, pp. 89-104, 2022, DOI:10.32604/sv.2022.011838

Abstract In our consideration, a comparison between four different types of controllers for suppression the vibrations of the cantilever beam excited by an external force is carried out. Those four types are the linear velocity feedback control, the cubic velocity feedback control, the non-linear saturation controller (NSC) and the positive position feedback (PPF) controller. The suitable type is the PPF controller for suppression the vibrations of the cantilever beam. The approximate solution obtained up to the first approximation by using the multiple scale method. The PPF controller effectiveness is studied on the system. We used frequency-response equations to investigate the stability… More >

Abstract In the recent decade, different researchers have performed hardware implementation for different applications covering various areas of experts. In this research paper, a novel analog design and implementation of different steps of fuzzy systems with current differencing buffered amplifier (CDBA) are proposed with a compact structure that can be used in many signal processing applications. The proposed circuits are capable of wide input current range, simple structure, and are highly linear. Different electrical parameters were compared for the proposed fuzzy system when using different membership functions. The novelty of this paper lies in the electronic implementation of different steps for… More >

LCF: A Deep Learning-Based Lightweight CSI Feedback Scheme for MIMO Networks

    Kyu-haeng Lee*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.3, pp. 5561-5580, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.024562

Abstract Recently, as deep learning technologies have received much attention for their great potential in extracting the principal components of data, there have been many efforts to apply them to the Channel State Information (CSI) feedback overhead problem, which can significantly limit Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO) beamforming gains. Unfortunately, since most compression models can quickly become outdated due to channel variation, timely model updates are essential for reflecting the current channel conditions, resulting in frequent additional transmissions for model sharing between transceivers. In particular, the heavy network models employed by most previous studies to achieve high compression gains exacerbate the impact of… More >

They are built on rigid-body mechanisms. The advancement of robotic production now depends on the inclusion of staff in manufacturing processes, allowing for the completion of activities that need cognitive abilities that are now beyond the scope of artificial networks. Hydrostatic pressure is used to achieve high deflections of structures that are based on the elastomeric in Fluid Actuators (FAs). Soft actuators based on the fluid are a popular choice safe for humans and… More >

Abstract Controlling feedback control systems in continuous action spaces has always been a challenging problem. Nevertheless, reinforcement learning is mainly an area of artificial intelligence (AI) because it has been used in process control for more than a decade. However, the existing algorithms are unable to provide satisfactory results. Therefore, this research uses a reinforcement learning (RL) algorithm to manage the control system. We propose an adaptive speed control of the motor system based on depth deterministic strategy gradient (DDPG). The actor-critic scenario using DDPG is implemented to build the RL agent. In addition, a framework has been created for traditional… More >
