Muhammad I. Masud*, Iqbal A. Khan

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.44, No.3, pp. 2425-2438, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.027570

Abstract A novel, carbon nanotube field effect transistor (CNTFET) based fully differential first order all pass filter (FDFAPF) circuit configuration is presented. The FDFAPF uses CNTFET based negative transconductors (NTs) and positive transconductors (PTs) in its realization. The proposed circuit topology employs two PTs, two NTs, two resistors and one capacitor. All the passive components of the realized topology are grounded. Active only fully differential first order all pass filter (AO-FDFAPF) topology is also derived from the proposed FDFAPF. The electronic tunability of the AO-FDFAPF is obtained by controlling the employed CNTFET based varactor. A tunabilty of pole frequency in the… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.73, No.2, pp. 3795-3814, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.029134

Abstract In the literature, numerous techniques have been employed to decrease noise in medical image modalities, including X-Ray (XR), Ultrasonic (Us), Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), and Positron Emission Tomography (PET). These techniques are organized into two main classes: the Multiple Image (MI) and the Single Image (SI) techniques. In the MI techniques, images usually obtained for the same area scanned from different points of view are used. A single image is used in the entire procedure in the SI techniques. SI denoising techniques can be carried out both in a transform or spatial domain. This paper is concerned… More >

Coordinated Control Strategy for Harmonic Compensation of Multiple Active Power Filters

Jianfeng Yang*, Rende Qi*, Yang Liu, Yu Ding

    Energy Engineering, Vol.119, No.2, pp. 609-620, 2022, DOI:10.32604/ee.2022.016969

Abstract In order to minimize the harmonic distortion rate of the current at the common coupling point, this paper proposes a coordinated allocation strategy of harmonic compensation capacity considering the performance of active power filters (APF). On the premise of proportional distribution of harmonic compensation capacity, the harmonic compensation rate of each APF is considered, and the harmonic current value of each APF to be compensated is obtained. At the same time, the communication topology is introduced. Each APF takes into account the compensation ability of other APFs. Finally, three APFs with different capacity and performance are configured at the harmonic… More >

An Experimental and Numerical Study on the Cleaning of Pleated Bag Filters Using Low-Pressure Pulsed-Jets

    Lumin Chen1, Wanying Sun2, Fuping Qian1,*, Can Fang2, Zhimin Zheng1, Qianshuang Zhuang3, Yunlong Han2, Jinli Lu2

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.18, No.1, pp. 41-56, 2022, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2022.017523

Abstract Pulsed-jet cleaning is recognized as the most efficient method to regenerate bag dust collectors traditionally used in industrial processes to control the emission of particulates. In this study, non-woven needle felt filter bags with and without a film coating material have been analyzed considering different geometries (different number N of pairs of pleated filter bag sides) in the frame of dedicated low-pressure pulsed-jet cleaning experiments. The flow structure inside the bag and the response characteristics of its wall have also been analyzed numerically through a computational fluid-dynamics/structural-dynamics (CFD-CSD) unidirectional fluid-solid coupling method. As shown by the experiments, the peak pressure… More >

An Adaptive SAR Despeckling Method Using Cuckoo Search Algorithm

Memoona Malik*, Iftikhar Azim, Amir Hanif Dar, Sohail Asghar

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.29, No.1, pp. 165-182, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.017437

Abstract Despeckling of SAR imagery is a crucial step prior to their automated interpretation as information extraction from noisy images is a challenging task. Though a huge despeckling literature exists in this regard, there is still a room for improvement in existing techniques. The contemporary despeckling techniques adversely affect image edges during the noise reduction process and are thus responsible for losing the significant image features. Therefore, to preserve important features during the speckle reduction process, a two phase hybrid despeckling filter is proposed in this study. The first phase of the hybrid filter focuses on edge preservation by employing a… More >

Fuzzy Based Adaptive Deblocking Filters at Low-Bitrate HEVC Videos for Communication Networks

    Anudeep Gandam1,*, Jagroop Singh Sidhu2

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.66, No.3, pp. 3045-3063, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.013663

Abstract In-loop filtering significantly helps detect and remove blocking artifacts across block boundaries in low bitrate coded High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) frames and improves its subjective visual quality in multimedia services over communication networks. However, on faster processing of the complex videos at a low bitrate, some visible artifacts considerably degrade the picture quality. In this paper, we proposed a four-step fuzzy based adaptive deblocking filter selection technique. The proposed method removes the quantization noise, blocking artifacts and corner outliers efficiently for HEVC coded videos even at low bit-rate. We have considered Y (luma), U (chroma-blue), and V (chroma-red) components… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.66, No.3, pp. 3363-3382, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.013314

Abstract Collective improvement in the acceptable or desirable accuracy level of breast cancer image-related pattern recognition using various schemes remains challenging. Despite the combination of multiple schemes to achieve superior ultrasound image pattern recognition by reducing the speckle noise, an enhanced technique is not achieved. The purpose of this study is to introduce a features-based fusion scheme based on enhancement uniform-Local Binary Pattern (LBP) and filtered noise reduction. To surmount the above limitations and achieve the aim of the study, a new descriptor that enhances the LBP features based on the new threshold has been proposed. This paper proposes a multi-level… More >

    Detian Huang1, Peiting Gu2, Hsuan-Ming Feng3,*, Yanming Lin1, Lixin Zheng1

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.26, No.2, pp. 313-322, 2020, DOI:10.31209/2019.100000105

Abstract To tackle the problem of illumination sensitive, scale variation, and occlusion in the Kernelized Correlation Filters (KCF) tracker, an improved robust tracking algorithm based on KCF is proposed. Firstly, the color attribute was introduced to represent the target, and the dimension of target features was reduced adaptively to obtain low-dimensional and illumination-insensitive target features with the locally linear embedding approach. Secondly, an effective appearance model updating strategy is designed, and then the appearance model can be adaptively updated according to the Peak-to-Sidelobe Ratio value. Finally, the low-dimensional color features and the HOG features are utilized to determine the target state… More >
