    Abstract This study investigates the potential of Tin Slag Polymer Concrete (TSPC) strengthening through confinement using basalt fiber reinforced polymer (BFRP) and aramid fiber reinforced polymer (AFRP) confinement. TSPC short cylindrical column samples have been wrapped with BFRP and AFRP in a single layer (30 mm overlap) using Sikadur-330 epoxy and final samples were coded as TSPC-UC, TSPC-BF and TSPC-AF for unconfined, BFRP and AFRP for confined respectively.     Abstract Leather manufacturing process involves a lot of waste disposal which pollutes environment, some of the processes are inevitable. In the present investigation, 3D printing technology was used to reduce the wastage and to cover defective regions in leather.     Abstract With the advancement of oilfield extraction technology, since oil-water emulsions in waxy crude oil are prone to be deposited on the pipe wall, increasing the difficulty of crude oil extraction. In this paper, the mesoscopic dissipative particle dynamics method is used to study the mechanism of the crystallization and deposition adsorbed on the wall.     Abstract The natural convection from a vertical hot plate with radiation and constant flux is studied numerically to know the velocity and temperature distribution characteristics over a vertical hot plate. The governing equations of the natural convection in two-dimension are solved with the implicit finite difference method, whereas the discretized equations are solved with the iterative relaxation method. The results show that the velocity and the temperature increase along the vertical wall.     Abstract Social determinants of health (SDOH) affect quality of life. We investigated SDOH impacts on self-perceived resilience among people with adult congenital heart disease (ACHD). Secondary analysis of data from two complementary studies: a survey study conducted May 2021–June 2022 and a qualitative study conducted June 2020–August 2021. Resilience was assessed through CD-RISC10 score (range 0–40, higher scores reflect greater self-perceived resilience) and interview responses.     THERMAL PERFORMANCE ENHANCEMENT OF PARAFFIN WAX WITH AL2O3 AND CuO NANOPARTICLES – A NUMERICAL STUDY

    Abstract The heat transfer enhancement of paraffin wax, a cheap and widely used latent heat thermal energy storage material, using nanoparticles is investigated. The effects of nanoparticle volume fraction on both the melting and solidification rates of paraffin wax are analysed and compared for Al2O3 and CuO nanoparticles. Present results show that dispersing nanoparticles in smaller volumetric fractions increase the heat transfer rate. The enhancement in thermal performance of paraffin wax is greater for Al2O3 compared with that for CuO nanoparticles. More >
