A Novel Collaborative Evolutionary Algorithm with Two-Population for Multi-Objective Flexible Job Shop Scheduling

Cuiyu Wang, Xinyu Li, Yiping Gao*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.137, No.2, pp. 1849-1870, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.028098

Abstract Job shop scheduling (JS) is an important technology for modern manufacturing. Flexible job shop scheduling (FJS) is critical in JS, and it has been widely employed in many industries, including aerospace and energy. FJS enables any machine from a certain set to handle an operation, and this is an NP-hard problem. Furthermore, due to the requirements in real-world cases, multi-objective FJS is increasingly widespread, thus increasing the challenge of solving the FJS problems. As a result, it is necessary to develop a novel method to address this challenge. To achieve this goal, a novel collaborative evolutionary algorithm with two-population based… More >

Qingsong Fan, Qijie Rao, Haisong Huang*

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.137, No.2, pp. 1825-1848, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.028369

Abstract In present-day industrial settings, where robot arms perform tasks in an unstructured environment, there may exist numerous objects of various shapes scattered in random positions, making it challenging for a robot arm to precisely attain the ideal pose to grasp the object. To solve this problem, a multistage robotic arm flexible grasp detection method based on deep learning is proposed. This method first improves the Faster RCNN target detection model, which significantly improves the detection ability of the model for multiscale grasped objects in unstructured scenes. Then, a Squeeze-and-Excitation module is introduced to design a multitarget grasping pose generation network… More >

    Junru Liu, Yonggui Lv*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.37, No.2, pp. 2421-2439, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.040262

Abstract Numerous clothing enterprises in the market have a relatively low efficiency of assembly line planning due to insufficient optimization of bottleneck stations. As a result, the production efficiency of the enterprise is not high, and the production organization is not up to expectations. Aiming at the problem of flexible process route planning in garment workshops, a multi-object genetic algorithm is proposed to solve the assembly line balance optimization problem and minimize the machine adjustment path. The encoding method adopts the object-oriented path representation method, and the initial population is generated by random topology sorting based on an in-degree selection mechanism.… More >

    Dong Chen1, Tanping Zhou1,2,3,*, Xu An Wang1,2, Zichao Song1, Yujie Ding1, Xiaoyuan Yang1,2

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.37, No.2, pp. 2477-2497, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.039238

Abstract Smart grid (SG) brings convenience to users while facing great challenges in protecting personal private data. Data aggregation plays a key role in protecting personal privacy by aggregating all personal data into a single value, preventing the leakage of personal data while ensuring its availability. Recently, a flexible subset data aggregation (FSDA) scheme based on the Paillier homomorphic encryption was first proposed by Zhang et al. Their scheme can dynamically adjust the size of each subset and obtain the aggregated data in the corresponding subset. In this paper, firstly, an efficient attack with both theorems proving and experimentative verification is… More >

    Muhammad Rashid1,*, Omar S. Sonbul1, Muhammad Arif2, Furqan Aziz Qureshi3, Saud. S. Alotaibi4, Mohammad H. Sinky1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.76, No.1, pp. 1009-1025, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.039901

Abstract This work presents a flexible/unified hardware architecture of Elliptic-curve Cryptography (ECC) and PRESENT for cryptographic applications. The features of the proposed work are (i) computation of only the point multiplication operation of ECC over for a 163-bit key generation, (ii) execution of only the variant of an 80-bit PRESENT block cipher for data encryption & decryption and (iii) execution of point multiplication operation (ECC algorithm) along with the data encryption and decryption (PRESENT algorithm). To establish an area overhead for the flexible design, dedicated hardware architectures of ECC and PRESENT are implemented in the first step, and a sum of… More >

Numerical Investigation on Vibration Performance of Flexible Plates Actuated by Pneumatic Artificial Muscle

    Zhimin Zhao1,2, Jie Yan3, Shangbin Wang1,2, Yuanhao Tie4, Ning Feng1,2,5,*

    Sound & Vibration, Vol.56, No.4, pp. 307-317, 2022, DOI:10.32604/sv.2022.028797

Abstract This paper theoretically introduced the feasibility of changing the vibration characteristics of flexible plates by using bio-inspired, extremely light, and powerful Pneumatic Artificial Muscle (PAM) actuators. Many structural plates or shells are typically flexible and show high vibration sensitivity. For this reason, this paper provides a way to achieve active vibration control for suppressing the oscillations of these structures to meet strict stability, safety, and comfort requirements. The dynamic behaviors of the designed plates are modeled by using the finite element (FE) method. As is known, the output force vs. contraction curve of PAM is nonlinear generally. In this present… More >

    Hina Zahir*

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.6, pp. 1507-1519, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.022520

Abstract The interaction of nanoparticles with a peristaltic flow is analyzed considering a Prandtl-Eyring fluid under various conditions, such as the presence of a heat source/sink and slip effects in channels with a curvature. This problem has extensive background links with various fields in medical science such as chemotherapy and more in general nanotechnology. A similarity transformation is used to turn the original balance equations into a set of ordinary differential equations, which are then integrated numerically. The investigation reveals that nanofluids have valuable thermal capabilitises. More >
