    Tariq Qayyum1, Zouheir Trabelsi1,*, Asadullah Tariq1, Muhammad Ali2, Kadhim Hayawi3, Irfan Ud Din4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.77, No.2, pp. 1739-1757, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.043684

Abstract Federated Learning (FL) enables collaborative and privacy-preserving training of machine learning models within the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) realm. While FL effectively tackles privacy concerns, it also imposes significant resource requirements. In traditional FL, trained models are transmitted to a central server for global aggregation, typically in the cloud. This approach often leads to network congestion and bandwidth limitations when numerous devices communicate with the same server. The need for Flexible Global Aggregation and Dynamic Client Selection in FL for the IoV arises from the inherent characteristics of IoV environments. These include diverse and distributed data sources, varying data quality,… More >

Multi-Branch Deepfake Detection Algorithm Based on Fine-Grained Features

    Wenkai Qin1, Tianliang Lu1,*, Lu Zhang2, Shufan Peng1, Da Wan1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.77, No.1, pp. 467-490, 2023, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2023.042417

Abstract With the rapid development of deepfake technology, the authenticity of various types of fake synthetic content is increasing rapidly, which brings potential security threats to people's daily life and social stability. Currently, most algorithms define deepfake detection as a binary classification problem, i.e., global features are first extracted using a backbone network and then fed into a binary classifier to discriminate true or false. However, the differences between real and fake samples are often subtle and local, and such global feature-based detection algorithms are not optimal in efficiency and accuracy. To this end, to enhance the extraction of forgery details… More >

Abstract Path planning is a prevalent process that helps mobile robots find the most efficient pathway from the starting position to the goal position to avoid collisions with obstacles. In this paper, we propose a novel path planning algorithm–Intermediary RRT*-PSO-by utilizing the exploring speed advantages of Rapidly exploring Random Trees and using its solution to feed to a metaheuristic-based optimizer, Particle swarm optimization (PSO), for fine-tuning and enhancement. In Phase 1, the start and goal trees are initialized at the starting and goal positions, respectively, and the intermediary tree is initialized at a random unexplored region of the search space. The International Conference on Computational & Experimental Engineering and Sciences, Vol.26, No.2, pp. 1-1, 2023, DOI:10.32604/icces.2023.08941

Abstract P This paper presents and validates a new local to global (L2G) FEM approach that can analyze multiple, interactive fracture processes in 2D solids with improved numerical efficiency and robustness. The method features: 1) forming local problems for individual and interactive cracks; and 2) parallel solving local problems and returning local solutions as part of the trial solution for global iteration. It has been demonstrated analytically (through a simple 1D problem) and numerically (through several benchmarking examples) that, the proposed method can substantially improve the robustness of the global solution process and significantly reduce the costly global iteration for convergence.… More >
