    Anupam Bhandari*

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.20, No.3, pp. 475-486, 2024, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.041618

Abstract The thermal behavior of an electrically non-conducting magnetic liquid flowing over a stretching cylinder under the influence of a magnetic dipole is considered. The governing nonlinear differential equations are solved numerically using a finite element approach, which is properly validated through comparison with earlier results available in the literature. The results for the velocity and temperature fields are provided for different values of the Reynolds number, ferromagnetic response number, Prandtl number, and viscous dissipation parameter. The influence of some physical parameters on skin friction and heat transfer on the walls of the cylinder is also investigated. The applicability of this… More > Graphic Abstract

Abstract Sintered silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) are widely used in high-power electronics due to their exceptional properties. However, the material reliability is significantly affected by various microscopic defects. In this work, the three primary micro-defect types at potential stress concentrations in sintered AgNPs are identified, categorized, and quantified. Molecular dynamics (MD) simulations are employed to observe the failure evolution of different microscopic defects. The dominant mechanisms responsible for this evolution are dislocation nucleation and dislocation motion. At the same time, this paper clarifies the quantitative relationship between the tensile strain amount and the failure mechanism transitions of the three defect types by… More >

L’impact du Terrassement des Versants sur L’érosion Dans le Pourtour Occidental du Plateau du Jord Tannourine-Aaqoura (Liban)

Hussein El Hage Hassan1,*, Laurence Charbel2, Ninon Blond3

More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.138, No.3, pp. 2973-3012, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.029681

Abstract A patient co-infected with COVID-19 and viral hepatitis B can be at more risk of severe complications than the one infected with a single infection. This study develops a comprehensive stochastic model to assess the epidemiological impact of vaccine booster doses on the co-dynamics of viral hepatitis B and COVID-19. The model is fitted to real COVID-19 data from Pakistan. The proposed model incorporates logistic growth and saturated incidence functions. Rigorous analyses using the tools of stochastic calculus, are performed to study appropriate conditions for the existence of unique global solutions, stationary distribution in the sense of ergodicity and disease… More >
