    K.V. Chandra Sekhar*

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.19, pp. 1-8, 2022, DOI:10.5098/hmt.19.36

Abstract The current study explores heat and mass transfer analysis of unstable MHD boundary layer flow of electrically conducting Casson fluid near an infinite Perpendicular porous plate, moving with variable velocity. Mass diffusion equation was described by the homogenous first order chemical reaction. The equations controlling the flow converted into dimensionless form and solved by applying Laplace transform method and the expressions for velocity, temperature and concentration of the flow are acquired in exact form. To understand the physical insight of the problem a detailed study of involved parameters of the flow was done and explained in detailed with graphs. The… More >

THERMOPHORESIS IMPACT ON A MICROPOLAR FLUID UNDER CHANGEABLE HEAT FLUX IN CONDUCTING FIELD

    P. Chandra Reddya, B. Hari Babub,*, K. Sreenivasuluc

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.19, pp. 1-5, 2022, DOI:10.5098/hmt.19.27

Abstract This examination carried out on thermophoresis impact on a micropolar fluid under heat flux which is not changeable in conducting field. The flow past a vertical porous plate is taken with the influence of thermal radiation and diffusion simultaneously. The flow governed non linear partial differential equations in this model are distorted to a structure of non-linear ordinary ones through fitting corresponding transformations and later solved by Runge–Kutta Fourth order with shooting technique method. The effects of selected corporal parameters on the dimensionless velocity, microrotation and temperature profiles are examined and handled graphically. Lastly, numerical table values of the extended… More >

    Amnart Boonloia, Withada Jedsadaratanachaib,*

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.19, pp. 1-13, 2022, DOI:10.5098/hmt.19.26

Abstract CFD analyses of flow characteristics and heat transfer topology in a heat exchanger duct (HXD) placed with three various configurations of the double V-baffles (DVB) are reported. Parameters of interest are DVB height ratios (b/H = 0.05 – 0.25), gap spacing ratios (g = 0.05 – 0.40), flow directions (+x, -x), and DVB configurations (Type I, II and III). Laminar flow with Reynolds numbers (based on the inlet conditions) between 100 – 2000 is measured. The present problem is solved with the finite volume method (a commercial program). Fluid flow and heat transfer characteristics in the tested duct are described.… More >

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.92, No.6, pp. 1831-1840, 2023, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2023.028085

    Abstract

Micronutrient nanoparticles (NPs) are currently an option for chemical fertilization and biostimulation in crops. However, there is little information on the phytotoxic or biostimulatory effects of NPs at low concentrations of some elements, such as Zn. In this study, the effect of low concentrations of Zn oxide (ZnO) NPs on germination, growth variables, and nutritional attributes of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) was evaluated in comparison to Zn sulfate. Romaine lettuce seeds were treated with ZnSO4-- × 7H2O and ZnO NPs at Zn molar concentrations of 1 × 10−3, 5 × 10−3, 1 × 10−4, 5 × 10−4, 1… More >

Abstract Derailment of trains is not unusual all around the world, especially in developing countries, due to unidentified track or rolling stock faults that cause massive casualties each year. For this purpose, a proper condition monitoring system is essential to avoid accidents and heavy losses. Generally, the detection and classification of railway track surface faults in real-time requires massive computational processing and memory resources and is prone to a noisy environment. Therefore, in this paper, we present the development of a novel embedded system prototype for condition monitoring of railway track. The proposed prototype system works in real-time by acquiring railway… More >

    Narit Hnoohom1, Sakorn Mekruksavanich2, Anuchit Jitpattanakul3,4,*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.36, No.3, pp. 3371-3385, 2023, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2023.036551

Abstract Falls are the contributing factor to both fatal and nonfatal injuries in the elderly. Therefore, pre-impact fall detection, which identifies a fall before the body collides with the floor, would be essential. Recently, researchers have turned their attention from post-impact fall detection to pre-impact fall detection. Pre-impact fall detection solutions typically use either a threshold-based or machine learning-based approach, although the threshold value would be difficult to accurately determine in threshold-based methods. Moreover, while additional features could sometimes assist in categorizing falls and non-falls more precisely, the estimated determination of the significant features would be too time-intensive, thus using a… More >
