    Mehiar, D.A.F., Azizul, Z.H.*, Loo, C.K.

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.26, No.3, pp. 447-454, 2020, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2020.013921

Abstract In this paper we show how the quantum-based particle swarm optimization (QPSO) method is adopted to derive a new derivation for robotics application in search and rescue simulations. The new derivation, called the Quantum Robot Darwinian PSO (QRDPSO) is inspired from another PSO-based algorithm, the Robot Darwinian PSO (RDPSO). This paper includes comprehensive details on the QRDPSO formulation and parameters control which show how the swarm overcomes communication constraints to avoid obstacles and achieve optimal solution. The results show the QRDPSO is an upgrade over RDPSO in terms of convergence speed, trajectory control, obstacle avoidance and connectivity performance of the… More >

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.33, No.3, pp. 187-202, 2018, DOI:10.32604/csse.2018.33.187

Abstract Nowadays, Big Data, a large volume of both structured and unstructured data, is generated from Social Media. Social Media are powerful marketing tools and social big data can offer the business insights. The major challenge facing social big data is attaining efficient techniques to collect a large volume of social data and extract insights from the huge amount of collected data. Sentiment Analysis of social big data can provide business insights by extracting the public opinions. The traditional analytic platforms need to be scaled up for analyzing a large volume of social big data. Social data are by nature shorter… More >

Numerical Simulation on Oil Spilling of Submarine Pipeline and Its Evolution on Sea Surface

    Yi Wang*, Mohan Lin

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.124, No.3, pp. 885-914, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2020.09810

Abstract Due to the interaction and corrosion of the seawater, submarine pipelines are easy to be broken to spill oil. The special environment of subsea restricts the technical development of pipeline maintenance. Therefore, the study on the oil spilling model of submarine pipeline is very important for predicting the movement and diffusion of spilled oil, so that oil spilling traces and relating strategies can be determined. This paper aims to establish an oil spilling model of a submarine pipeline, study the movement characteristics of spilled oil in seawater by numerical simulation, and determine the traces, diffusion range, time to sea surface,… More >

Mitigating and Monitoring Smart City Using Internet of Things

    Sudan Jha1, Lewis Nkenyereye2, *, Gyanendra Prasad Joshi3, Eunmok Yang4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.65, No.2, pp. 1059-1079, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.011754

Abstract The present trends in smart world reflects the extensive use of limited resources through information and communication technology. The limited resources like space, mobility, energy, etc., have been consumed rigorously towards creating optimized but smart instances. Thus, a new concept of IoT integrated smart city vision is yet to be proposed which includes a combination of systems like noise and air loss monitoring, web monitoring and fire detection systems, smart waste bin systems, etc., that have not been clearly addressed in the previous researches. This paper focuses on developing an effective system for possible monitoring of losses, traffic management, thus… More >

Weighted or Non-Weighted Negative Tree Pattern Discovery from SensorRich Environments

    Juryon Paik*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.26, No.1, pp. 193-204, 2020, DOI:10.31209/2019.100000140

Abstract It seems to be sure that the IoT is one of promising potential topics today. Sensors are the one that lead the current IoT revolution. The advances of sensor-rich environments produce the massive volume of raw data that is enlarging faster than the rate at which it is being handled. JSON is a lightweight data-interchange format and preferred for IoT applications. Before JSON, XML was de factor standard format for interchanging data. The common point is that their structure scheme is the tree. Tree structure provides data exchangeability and heterogeneity, which encourages user-flexibilities. Therefore, JSON sensor format is an easy… More >

Implementation of Local Area VR Environment using Mobile HMD and Multiple Kinects

    Soo-Kyun Kim1, Chang-Hee Lee2, Sun-Jeong Kim2, Chang-Geun Song2, Jung Lee2,*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.26, No.1, pp. 99-105, 2020, DOI:10.31209/2019.100000131

Abstract Recently, the development of HMDs such as Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and PSVR has led to an increase in the interest of people in virtual reality (VR), and many related studies have been published. This leads to an additional cost increase in configuring the VR system. Also, space problems are caused. When the treadmill is installed, additional space is required, which may adversely affect the popularization of VR. In this paper, we propose a local area VR environment that solves cost and space problems using human tracking using several Kinect and solves the hygiene problems using smartphone-based mobile HMD. Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.24, No.2, pp. 241-248, 2018, DOI:10.1080/10798587.2016.1264695

Abstract The paper deals with supervised robot navigation in known environments. The navigation task is divided into two parts, where one part of the navigation is done by the supervisor system i.e. the system sets the vector marks on the salient edges of the virtual environment map and guides the robot to reach these marks. Mobile robots have to perform a specific task according to the given paths and solve the local obstacles avoidance individually. The salient point’s detection, vector mark estimation and optimal path calculation are done on the supervisor computer using colored Petri nets. The proposed approach was extended… More >

Abstract Substation inspection work plays a very important role in ensuring the normal production and the safe operation of a transformer substation. Use of a substation inspection robot can effectively solve the omission problems of a manual inspection. It can further improve the unmanned and automation of substation and improve security of station. A substation inspection system requires the establishment of a spatial position relation between the robot and the inspection object in the monitoring station. Key technology is the spatial location of the object being detected in the substation. The position of inspection object is unknown. This paper gives technical… More >
