    N. Vijayaa,*, Sunil Babu Gb , Vellanki Lakshmi Nc

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.15, pp. 1-8, 2020, DOI:10.5098/hmt.15.23

Abstract Present investigation aims at scrutinizing the properties of heat and mass transfer phenomena of liquid thin film of Casson Nano fluid over elongated sheet under the influence of thermophorosis and Brownian motion. Casson Nano particle effect on thermophorotic force and on Brownian force is studied. Variables of similarity were induced to transmute partial differential equations into dimensionless equations and are resolved numerically by elegant method bvp 4c. Thin film thickness is calculated using MATHEMATICA for different values of critical parameters. Velocity profiles diminishes for higher values of Casson parameter and magnetic field parameter. The temperature escalates for higher values of… More >

    Silpisikha Goswamia,b, Dipak Sarmab

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.16, 2021, DOI:10.5098/hmt.16.12

Abstract This study includes the observation of electrically conducting non-Newtonian fluid flow through a vertical porous plate considering the effect of the induced magnetic field. Our approach is numerical to investigate how the variation of magnetic Prandtl number and Eckert number effect the flow profiles. Influence of Casson parameter and Hartmann number in the profiles is also observed and depicted in graphs. The rate of heat transfer, the rate of mass transfer and the skin friction are calculated and presented in tables. A significant effect of magnetic Prandtl number and Eckert number is observed. We compared our results with some previous… More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.18, pp. 1-8, 2022, DOI:10.5098/hmt.18.42

Abstract In this paper, a steady and laminar flow of ferrofluid (Fe3O4/Water) in a uniformly heated tube under the effect of non-uniform magnetic field arranged periodically along the tube is numerically analyzed using the finite volume method. The analysis sheds light on the flow pattern, Nusselt number, friction factor and the Performance Evaluation Criterion, at laminar flow regime (102Re ≤ 103 ) and for various magnetic numbers (Mn = 0, 2.83 · 104 , 6.37 · 104 and 1.13 · 105 ). The obtained results show that the magnetic field generated by periodic arrangement of the wire pitches, forces… More >

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.18, pp. 1-9, 2022, DOI:10.5098/hmt.18.33

Abstract To study the electric furnace melting process of different process parameters (e.g., current frequency, electric current intensity, the insertion depth of the electrode column, and water wall temperature) for each field quantity change and the impact of electric furnace slag conditioning, the mathematical model of the electromagnetic and temperature fields of the slag tempering process in electric furnace was established, and the numerical simulation was analyzed by the ANSYS finite element software. Research results show that current skin effect appears with the increase in current frequency, while the difference between the two ends and the center of the magnetic induction… More >

Abstract This study is focused on the investigation of magneto hydrodynamic mixed convection radiative heat and mass transfer flow of a steady, viscous, incompressible electrically conducting Newtonian fluid which is an optically thin gray gas over a permeable vertical infinite plate in the presence of first order chemical reaction, temperature gradient heat source, induced magnetic field and magnetic Prandtl number. The governing equations for this flow model are formulated and solved using perturbation technique. The velocity, temperature, concentration and induced magnetic field are studied through graphs, and the skin friction coefficient, Nusselt number and Sherwood number are discussed through tables in… More >

EFFECT OF DIFFUSION-THERMO ON MHD FLOW OF MAXWELL FLUID WITH HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER

Muhammad Ramzana,*, Zaib Un Nisab , Mudassar Nazara,c,†

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.19, pp. 1-9, 2022, DOI:10.5098/hmt.19.12

Abstract A magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) flow of fractional Maxwell fluid past an exponentially accelerated vertical plate is considered. In addition, other factors such as heat generation and chemical reaction are used in the problem. The flow model is solved using Caputo fractional derivative. Initially, the governing equations are made non-dimensional and then solved by Laplace transform. The influence of different parameters like diffusion thermo, fractional parameter, Magnetic field, chemical reaction, Prandtl number and Maxwell parameter are discussed through numerous graphs. From figures, it is observed that fluid motion decreases with increasing values of Schmidt number and chemical reaction, whereas velocity field decreases… More >

NUMERICAL STUDY OF STAGNATION POINT FLOW OF CASSON FLUID OVER A CONTINUOUS MOVING SURFACE

Muhammad Amin Murada,*, Faraidun Hamasalhb, Hajar F. Ismaelc

Frontiers in Heat and Mass Transfer, Vol.20, pp. 1-8, 2023, DOI:10.5098/hmt.20.7

Abstract In this paper, we study the behavior of heat transfer of Casson fluid at the magnetohydrodynamic stagnation point with thermal radiation over a continuous moving sheet. The appropriate similarity transfer is used to transfer the governing differential equations into the ordinary differential equation and then solved by the collocation method based on spline function. The obtained results are investigated with the existing literature by direct comparison. We found that an increment in the value of the shrinking parameter, magnetic parameter, and Casson fluid parameter enhances the velocity distribution and depreciate the temperature profile both Casson and Newtonian fluids. Furthermore, the… More >

    Samia Rani1, H. A. M. Al–Sharifi2, Mohammad S. Zannon3, Abid Hussanan1,*, Zafar Ullah1

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.19, No.7, pp. 1875-1896, 2023, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2023.025224

Abstract Sodium-alginate (SA) based nanofluids represent a new generation of fluids with improved performances in terms of heat transfer. This work examines the influence of the nanoparticle shape on a non–Newtonian viscoplastic Cu–nanofluid pertaining to this category. In particular, a stretching/shrinking sheet subjected to a transverse magnetic field is considered. The proposed Cu–nanofluid consists of four different nanoparticles having different shapes, namely bricks, cylinders, platelets, and blades dispersed in a mixture of sodium alginate with Prandtl number Pr = 6.45. Suitable similarity transformations are employed to reduce non–linear PDEs into a system of ODEs and these equations and related boundary conditions… More >
