    Khadija A. Al-Hassani1, M. S. Alam2, M. M. Rahman1,*

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.17, No.1, pp. 1-20, 2021, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2021.013497

Abstract Nanofluids have enjoyed a widespread use in many technological applications due to their peculiar properties. Numerical simulations are presented about the unsteady behavior of mixed convection of Fe3O4-water, Fe3O4- kerosene, Fe3O4-ethylene glycol, and Fe3O4-engine oil nanofluids inside a lid-driven triangular cavity. In particular, a two-component non-homogeneous nanofluid model is used. The bottom wall of the enclosure is insulated, whereas the inclined wall is kept a constant (cold) temperature and various temperature laws are assumed for the vertical wall, namely: θ = 1(Case 1), θ = Y(1 – Y)(Case 2), and θ = sin(2πY)(Case 3). A tilted magnetic field of uniform… More >

    Ling Cheng1,2,3,*, Bingqing Guo1,2, Kecheng Li1,2

    FDMP-Fluid Dynamics & Materials Processing, Vol.17, No.1, pp. 49-70, 2021, DOI:10.32604/fdmp.2021.011062

Abstract The performances of a hybrid energy system for decentralized heating are investigated. The proposed energy system consists of a solar collector, an air-source heat pump, a gas-fired boiler and a hot water tank. A mathematical model is developed to predict the operating characteristics of the system. The simulation results are compared with experimental data. Such a comparison indicates that the model accuracy is sufficient. The influence of the flat plate solar collector area on the economic and energy efficiency of such system is also evaluated through numerical simulations. Finally, this system is optimized using the method of orthogonal design. The… More >

    Hamdy A. Ziedan1, Hegazy Rezk2,3, Mujahed Al-Dhaifallah4,*

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.67, No.1, pp. 491-518, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.014493

Abstract A new accurate algorithms based on mathematical modeling of two parallel transmissions lines system (TPTLS) as influenced by the mutual effect to determine the fault location is discussed in this work. The distance relay measures the impedance to the fault location which is the positive-sequence. The principle of summation the positive-, negative-, and zero-sequence voltages which equal zero is used to determine the fault location on the TPTLS. Also, the impedance of the transmission line to the fault location is determined. These algorithms are applied to single-line-to-ground (SLG) and double-line-to-ground (DLG) faults. To detect the fault location along the transmission… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.67, No.1, pp. 477-489, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.012739

Abstract The investigation of local thermal transport rate in the nanolubricants is significant. These lubricants are broadly used in environmental pollution, mechanical engineering and in the paint industry due to high thermal performance rate. Therefore, thermal transport in ZnO-SAE50 nanolubricant under the impacts of heat generation/absorption is conducted. The colloidal suspension is flowing between parallel stretching disks in which the lower disk is positioned at z = 0 and upper disk apart from distance d. The problem is transformed in dimensionless version via described similarity transforms. In the next stage, an analytical technique (VPM) is implemented for the solution purpose. The… More >

Isa Abdullahi Baba1,*, Bashir Ahmad Nasidi1, Dumitru Baleanu2,3,4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.66, No.3, pp. 3089-3106, 2021, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2021.012301

Abstract As the corona virus (COVID-19) pandemic ravages socio-economic activities in addition to devastating infectious and fatal consequences, optimal control strategy is an effective measure that neutralizes the scourge to its lowest ebb. In this paper, we present a mathematical model for the dynamics of COVID-19, and then we added an optimal control function to the model in order to effectively control the outbreak. We incorporate three main control efforts (isolation, quarantine and hospitalization) into the model aimed at controlling the spread of the pandemic. These efforts are further subdivided into five functions; u1(t) (isolation of the susceptible communities), u2(t) (contact… More >
