    Abdelmajid Krouma1,2,*

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.92, No.7, pp. 2133-2150, 2023, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2023.029048

Abstract Iron is an essential element for plants as well as all living organisms, functioning in various physiological and biochemical processes such as photosynthesis, respiration, DNA synthesis, and N2 fixation. In the soil, Fe bioavailability is extremely low, especially under aerobic conditions and at high pH ranges. In contrast, plants with nodules on their roots that fix atmospheric nitrogen need much more iron. To highlight the physiological traits underlying the tolerance of N2-fixing common bean to iron deficiency, two genotypes were hydroponically cultivated in a greenhouse: Coco nain (CN) and Coco blanc (CB). Plants were inoculated with an efficient strain of… More >

Abstract KANADI (KAN) is a plant-specific gene that controlled the polarity development of lateral organs. It mainly acted on the abaxial characteristics of plants to make the lateral organs asymmetrical. However, it had been less identified in woody plants. In this study, the members of the KAN gene family in Populus trichocarpa were identified and analyzed using the bioinformatics method. The results showed that a total of 8 KAN family members were screened out, and each member contained the unique GARP domain and conserved region of the family proteins. Phylogenetic analysis and their gene structures revealed that all KAN genes from… More >

    Zhuoli Yang1, Xianbin Hou2, Leyang Dai2,*

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.11, No.6, pp. 2941-2951, 2023, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2023.025723

Abstract Plasma-assisted ball milling was carried out on the Al+C3H6N6 system and Al+C4H4N4 system, respectively. The phase structure, functional groups and synthesis mechanism were analyzed by XRD and FT-IR, and the differences in the synthesis process of nano-AlN with different solid nitrogen sources were discussed. The results show that C3H6N6 has a stable triazine ring structure, and its chemical bond is firm and difficult to break, so AlN cannot be synthesized directly by solid-solid reaction at room temperature. However, there are a large number of nitrile groups (-CN) and amino groups (-NH2) in C4H4N4 molecules. Under the combined action of plasma… More >

    Abstract

Nitrogen (N), the building block of plant proteins and enzymes, is an essential macronutrient for plant functions. A field experiment was conducted to investigate the impact of different N application rates (28, 57, 85, 114, 142, 171, and 200 kg ha−1) on the performance of spring wheat (cv. Ujala-2016) during the 2017–2018 and 2018–2019 growing seasons. A control without N application was kept for comparison. Two years mean data showed optimum seed yield (5,461.3 kg ha−1) for N-application at 142 kg ha−1 whereas application of lower and higher rates of N did not result in significant and economically higher seed… More >

    Abstract

Due to the characteristics of reservoir formation, the producing level of low permeability reservoir is relatively very low. It is hard to obtain high recovery through conventional development schemes. Considering the tight matrix, complex fracture system, low production level of producers, and low recovery factor of M block in Xinjiang oilfield, it is selected for on-site pilot test of nitrogen foam flooding. Detailed flooding scheme is made and the test results are evaluated respectively both for producers and injectors. The pressure index, filling degree, and fluid injection profile are found to be all improved in injectors after injection of nitrogen… More >

Synergistic Modification of PVC with Nitrogen-Containing Heterocycle and Tung-Oil Based Derivative for Enhanced Heat Stabilization and Plasticization Behavior

    Mei Wang1, Xinzhu Fan1, Quan Bu1, Puyou Jia2,3,*, Shouqi Yuan4

    Journal of Renewable Materials, Vol.11, No.4, pp. 2015-2031, 2023, DOI:10.32604/jrm.2023.026063

Abstract The additives present in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) materials are the major source of organic by-products during PVC degradation. The thermal stabilizer and plasticizer are the main additives that endow PVC with the required properties during its processing. However, these two additives easily migrate when samples are obtained by physical mixing of the additives with PVC. This causes the reduction of PVC sample efficacy and the increase in the formation of organic by-products in the radiolysis process. In this work, two kinds of grafted PVC samples (tung-oil derivative grafted PVC and Atz grafted PVC, abbreviated as P-GT4 and P-AZ3) were synthesized… More > Graphic Abstract
