    PRNU Extraction from Stabilized Video: A Patch Maybe Better than a Bunch

    Abstract This paper presents an algorithm to solve the problem of Photo-Response Non-Uniformity (PRNU) noise facing stabilized video. The stabilized video undergoes in-camera processing like rolling shutter correction. Thus, misalignment exists between the PRNU noises in the adjacent frames owing to the global and local frame registration performed by the in-camera processing. The misalignment makes the reference PRNU noise and the test PRNU noise unable to extract and match accurately.     Abstract The authors propose a technique to detect centimeter internal damages in large-scale composite structures, using an optical fiber network running throughout the structure. A Brillouin-based distributed strain sensing system with centimeter-order spatial resolution (pre-pump pulse Brillouin optical time domain analysis (PPP-BOTDA)) was utilized to detect residual non-uniform strain in the damaged area.     Abstract In the present work the iterative effective medium approximation (IEMA) is appropriately used for wave dispersion and attenuation predictions in fiber-reinforced composites that microscopically exhibit a non-uniform fiber distribution. Two types of composites with such irregular topology of fibers are considered. The first contains a regular distribution of clusters of fibers embedded in a composite matrix with uniformly distributed fibers, and the second a uniform distribution of matrix-rich inclusions embedded in a fiber-rich regular composite medium.     Abstract In this paper, we explore the numerical approximation of discrete differential operators on non-uniform grids. The Voronoi cell and the notion of natural neighbors are used to approximate the Laplacian and the gradient operator on irregular grids. The underlying weight measure used in the numerical computations is the {\em Laplace weight function}, which has been previously adopted in meshless Galerkin methods. We develop a difference approximation for the diffusion operator on irregular grids, and present numerical solutions for the Poisson equation.     Abstract This paper presents an adaptive multi-level computational model that combines a conventional displacement based finite element model with a microstructural Voronoi cell finite element model for multi-scale analysis of composite structures with non-uniform microstructural heterogeneities as obtained from optical or scanning electron micrographs.
