    Shaher Alshammrei1, Sahbi Boubaker2,*, Lioua Kolsi1,3

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.72, No.3, pp. 5939-5954, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.028165 - 21 April 2022

Abstract Optimal path planning avoiding obstacles is among the most attractive applications of mobile robots (MRs) in both research and education. In this paper, an optimal collision-free algorithm is designed and implemented practically based on an improved Dijkstra algorithm. To achieve this research objectives, first, the MR obstacle-free environment is modeled as a diagraph including nodes, edges and weights. Second, Dijkstra algorithm is used offline to generate the shortest path driving the MR from a starting point to a target point. During its movement, the robot should follow the previously obtained path and stop at each… More >

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.72, No.3, pp. 4817-4832, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.026845 - 21 April 2022

Abstract In this study, a hyper-redundant manipulator was designed for detection and searching in narrow spaces for aerospace and earthquake rescue applications. A forward kinematics equation for the hyper-redundant manipulator was derived using the homogeneous coordinate transformation method. Based on the modal function backbone curve method and the known path, an improved modal method for the backbone curves was proposed. First, the configuration of the backbone curve for the hyper-redundant manipulator was divided into two parts: a mode function curve segment of the mode function and a known path segment. By changing the discrete points along More >

A Novel Approach for Deciphering Big Data Value Using Dark Data

    Surbhi Bhatia*, Mohammed Alojail

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.33, No.2, pp. 1261-1271, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.023501 - 08 February 2022

Abstract The last decade has seen a rapid increase in big data, which has led to a need for more tools that can help organizations in their data management and decision making. Business intelligence tools have removed many of the obstacles to data visibility, and numerous data mining technologies are playing an essential role in this visibility. However, the increase in big data has also led to an increase in ‘dark data’, data that does not have any predefined structure and is not generated intentionally. In this paper, we show how dark data can be mined… More >

Enhancing Task Assignment in Crowdsensing Systems Based on Sensing Intervals and Location

    Rasha Sleem1, Nagham Mekky1, Shaker El-Sappagh2,3, Louai Alarabi4,*, Noha A. Hikal1, Mohammed Elmogy1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.71, No.3, pp. 5619-5638, 2022, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2022.023716 - 14 January 2022

Abstract The popularity of mobile devices with sensors is captivating the attention of researchers to modern techniques, such as the internet of things (IoT) and mobile crowdsensing (MCS). The core concept behind MCS is to use the power of mobile sensors to accomplish a difficult task collaboratively, with each mobile user completing much simpler micro-tasks. This paper discusses the task assignment problem in mobile crowdsensing, which is dependent on sensing time and path planning with the constraints of participant travel distance budgets and sensing time intervals. The goal is to minimize aggregate sensing time for mobile… More >

A Machine-Learning Framework to Improve Wi-Fi Based Indoorpositioning

    Venkateswari Pichaimani1, K. R. Manjula2,*

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.33, No.1, pp. 383-397, 2022, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2022.023105 - 05 January 2022

Abstract The indoor positioning system comprises portable wireless devices that aid in finding the location of people or objects within the buildings. Identification of the items is through the capacity level of the signal received from various access points (i.e., Wi-Fi routers). The positioning of the devices utilizing some algorithms has drawn more attention from the researchers. Yet, the designed algorithm still has problems for accurate floor planning. So, the accuracy of position estimation with minimum error is made possible by introducing Gaussian Distributive Feature Embedding based Deep Recurrent Perceptive Neural Learning (GDFE-DRPNL), a novel framework.… More >
