    Xiaoli He1, 2, Hong Jiang1, *, Yu Song1, 3, Muhammad Owais4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.63, No.3, pp. 1273-1296, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.09908

Abstract This paper investigates the power control and routing problem in the communication process of an energy harvesting (EH) multi-hop cognitive radio network (CRN). The secondary user (SU) nodes (i.e., source node and relay nodes) harvest energy from the environment and use the energy exclusively for transmitting data. The SU nodes (i.e., relay nodes) on the path, store and forward the received data to the destination node. We consider a real world scenario where the EH-SU node has only local causal knowledge, i.e., at any time, each EH-SU node only has knowledge of its own EH process, channel state and currently… More >

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.123, No.2, pp. 525-570, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2020.08854

Abstract With the growing number of Web services on the internet, there is a challenge to select the best Web service which can offer more quality-of-service (QoS) values at the lowest price. Another challenge is the uncertainty of QoS values over time due to the unpredictable nature of the internet. In this paper, we modify the interval data envelopment analysis (DEA) models [Wang, Greatbanks and Yang (2005)] for QoS-aware Web service selection considering the uncertainty of QoS attributes in the presence of desirable and undesirable factors. We conduct a set of experiments using a synthesized dataset to show the capabilities of… More >

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.89, No.2, pp. 385-403, 2020, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2020.09259

Abstract Quantitative real-time reverse transcriptase PCR (qRT-PCR) technology has been extensively used to estimate gene expression levels, and the selection of appropriate reference genes for qRT-PCR analysis is critically important for obtaining authentic normalized data. Acer palmatum is an important colorful leaf ornamental tree species, and reference genes suitable for normalization of the qRT-PCR data obtained from this species have not been investigated. In this study, the expression stability of ten candidate reference genes, namely, Actin3, Actin6, Actin9, EF1α, PP2A, SAMDC, TIP41, TUBα, TUBβ and UBQ10, in two distinct tissues (leaves and roots) of A. palmatum under four different abiotic stress… More >

    Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany, Vol.89, No.2, pp. 329-344, 2020, DOI:10.32604/phyton.2020.08874

Abstract Quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) is widely used for investigating gene expression patterns and has many advantages, including its high sensitivity, fidelity, and specificity. Selecting a satisfactory internal reference gene is crucial for obtaining precise gene expression results in qRT-PCR analyses. In this study, the transcriptomic data of 2 potato varieties were screened for housekeeping genes with stable expression patterns. A total of 77 putative genes were selected, which were highly and stably expressed. Then, qRT-PCR analyses were performed to examine the expression levels of these 77 candidate reference genes in various potato tissues, including leaves, flowers, stolons, and tubers. Gene… More >

    Lei Wang1, Jian Liu1, Changming Zhao2, 3, *, Alan Yang4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.63, No.1, pp. 401-416, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.06680

Abstract In this paper, we investigate the performance of secondary transmission scheme based on Markov ON-OFF state of primary users in Underlay cognitive radio networks. We propose flexible secondary cooperative transmission schemewith interference cancellation technique according to the ON-OFF status of primary transmitter. For maximal ratio combining (MRC) at destination, we have derived exact closed-form expressions of the outage probability in different situations. The numerical simulation results also reveal that the proposed scheme improve the secondary transmission performance compared with traditional mechanism in terms of secondary outage probability and energy efficiency. Performance Analysis of Relay Based NOMA Cooperative Transmission under Cognitive Radio Network

    Yinghua Zhang1, 2, Jian Liu1, *, Yunfeng Peng1, Yanfang Dong2, Guozhong Sun2, Hao Huang3, Changming Zhao4, 5

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.63, No.1, pp. 197-212, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.07059

Abstract This paper proposes a hybrid spectrum accessing mechanism by using NOMA-based cooperative transmission and beam-forming technology. In this mechanism, the secondary user employs spectrum-sensing technology to detect the existence of the primary user. If the primary user does not exist, the secondary source user directly transmits data to the destination user. If the primary user exists, the secondary source user finds the optimal relay according to certain selection principle before transmitting data to the destination user through the chosen relay node. For the signal receiving stage, the secondary user takes use of beam-forming technology to receive the signal from both… More >

Cooperative Relay Selection Mechanism in Multi-Hop Networks

    Jian Liu1, Lei Wang1, Changming Zhao2, 3, *, Alan Yang4

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.63, No.1, pp. 119-130, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.06074

Abstract In this paper, we consider a three-hop relay system based on interference cancellation technique in Underlay cognitive radio (CR) network. Although underlay CR has been shown as a promising technique to better utilize the source of primary users (PUs), its secondary performance will be severely degraded. On one hand, by adapting the Underlay spectrum sharing pattern, secondary users (SUs) would observe the strict power constraints and be interfered by primary users. On the other hand, limited transmit power results in limited transmission range, which greatly degrade the secondary transmission capacity. To solve the problems above, we propose an interference cancellation… More >

Abstract Wireless communications have to face to several different security issues in practice due to the nature of broadcast. The information theory is well known to provide efficient approaches to address security issues in wireless communications, which attracts much attention in both industry and academia in recent years. In this paper, inspired by information theory, we study the outage probability of the opportunistic relay selection based on cognitive decode-and-forward relaying with the secrecy consideration. Specifically, the closed-form expression of the outage probability is proposed. Moreover, the asymptotic performance evaluation on the basis of the analytical results is investigated. A Novel Bidirectional LSTM and Attention Mechanism Based Neural Network for Answer Selection in Community Question Answering

    Bo Zhang1, Haowen Wang1, #, Longquan Jiang1, Shuhan Yuan2, Meizi Li1, *

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.62, No.3, pp. 1273-1288, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmc.2020.07269

Abstract Deep learning models have been shown to have great advantages in answer selection tasks. The existing models, which employ encoder-decoder recurrent neural network (RNN), have been demonstrated to be effective. However, the traditional RNN-based models still suffer from limitations such as 1) high-dimensional data representation in natural language processing and 2) biased attentive weights for subsequent words in traditional time series models. In this study, a new answer selection model is proposed based on the Bidirectional Long Short-Term Memory (Bi-LSTM) and attention mechanism. The proposed model is able to generate the more effective question-answer pair representation. Experiments on a question… More >
