    Abstract In order to obtain the combustion characteristics of the CH4/Air premixed flame under the action of the wall interaction, a study on the impact of the jet flame on the wall at different separation distances was carried out. The separation distance from the burner outlet to the lower surface of the wall is changed and the flame structure is obtained through experiments.     Genetic separation of chalkiness by hybrid rice of Huanghuazhan and CS197

    Abstract The present study focused on the segregation of the percentage of grains with chalkiness (PGWC), using Huanghuazhan as the female parent and CS197 as the male parent to construct the hybrid rice F2 population. Molecular markers were used for genotype analysis among the extremely low and extremely high PGWC individuals from the F2 population. The results revealed that the genotypes of 10 extremely low PGWC individuals were 80.00% and 3.33%, which is identical to Huanghuazhan and CS197, respectively. The heterozygotes accounted for 16.67%.     Abstract A review on phenomenological fracture criteria is given, based on the energy balance for cracked bodies, and the respective toughness parameters are related to micromechanical processes. Griffith's idea of introducing a "surface energy" and Barenblatt's concept of a "process zone" ahead of the crack tip build the foundation of modern cohesive models, which have become versatile tools for numerical simulations of crack extension.     Abstract Kinetics of the ordered phase growth in a melted multi-component liquid crystalline mixture subjected to a deep cooling was studied using polarizing optical microscopy. The droplets of the ordered phase revealed in the optical images across the phase transition were segmented and treated statistically. In the resulting histograms, two overlapping statistical ensembles related to two main components of the mixture were recognized. These ensembles were successfully described using principles of irreversible thermodynamics and the mean droplet diameters within both ensembles were determined.     Abstract The impact of polymerization protocol on phase structure and properties of entirely lipid-derived thermoplastic poly(ester urethane)s (TPEU)s was investigated. The TPEUs were synthesized from 1,7-heptamethylene diisocyanate, polyester diols and 1,9-nonanediol (ND) as chain extender. A two-stage polymerization method was used to prepare two TPEUs; one in which ND was added in the first stage of polymerization as part of the prepolymer and another in the second stage after the prepolymer was formed.
