    Ying Zhang1, Wei Li1,*, Guidong Yang1, Snezana Kirin2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.138, No.3, pp. 2177-2199, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.030728

Abstract The Mean First-Passage Time (MFPT) and Stochastic Resonance (SR) of a stochastic tumor-immune model with noise perturbation are discussed in this paper. Firstly, considering environmental perturbation, Gaussian white noise and Gaussian colored noise are introduced into a tumor growth model under immune surveillance. As follows, the long-time evolution of the tumor characterized by the Stationary Probability Density (SPD) and MFPT is obtained in theory on the basis of the Approximated Fokker-Planck Equation (AFPE). Herein the recurrence of the tumor from the extinction state to the tumor-present state is more concerned in this paper. A more efficient algorithm of Back-Propagation Neural… More >

Attention-Based Residual Dense Shrinkage Network for ECG Denoising

    Dengyong Zhang1,2, Minzhi Yuan1,2, Feng Li1,2, Lebing Zhang3,*, Yanqiang Sun4, Yiming Ling5

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.138, No.3, pp. 2809-2824, 2024, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2023.029181

Abstract Electrocardiogram (ECG) signal is one of the noninvasive physiological measurement techniques commonly used in cardiac diagnosis. However, in real scenarios, the ECG signal is susceptible to various noise erosion, which affects the subsequent pathological analysis. Therefore, the effective removal of the noise from ECG signals has become a top priority in cardiac diagnostic research. Aiming at the problem of incomplete signal shape retention and low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) after denoising, a novel ECG denoising network, named attention-based residual dense shrinkage network (ARDSN), is proposed in this paper. Firstly, the shallow ECG characteristics are extracted by a shallow feature extraction network… More >

Abstract Visible light communication (VLC), which is a prominent emerging solution that complements the radio frequency (RF) technology, exhibits the potential to meet the demands of fifth-generation (5G) and beyond technologies. The random movement of mobile terminals in the indoor environment is a challenge in the VLC system. The model of optical attocells has a critical role in the uniform distribution and the quality of communication links in terms of received power and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). As such, the optical attocells positions were optimized in this study with a developed try and error (TE) algorithm. The optimized optical attocells were examined… More >

Speech Separation Methodology for Hearing Aid

    Joseph Sathiadhas Esra1,*, Y. Sukhi2

    Computer Systems Science and Engineering, Vol.44, No.2, pp. 1659-1678, 2023, DOI:10.32604/csse.2023.025969

Abstract In the design of hearing aids (HA), the real-time speech-enhancement is done. The digital hearing aids should provide high signal-to-noise ratio, gain improvement and should eliminate feedback. In generic hearing aids the performance towards different frequencies varies and non uniform. Existing noise cancellation and speech separation methods drops the voice magnitude under the noise environment. The performance of the HA for frequency response is non uniform. Existing noise suppression methods reduce the required signal strength also. So, the performance of uniform sub band analysis is poor when hearing aid is concern. In this paper, a speech separation method using Non-negative… More >

Image Denoising Using a Nonlinear Pixel-Likeness Weighted-Frame Technique

    P. Vinayagam1,*, P. Anandan2, N. Kumaratharan3

    Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing, Vol.30, No.3, pp. 869-879, 2021, DOI:10.32604/iasc.2021.016761

Abstract Recent advances in the development of image denoising applications for eliminating the various sources of noise in digital images have employed hardware platforms based on field programmable gate arrays for attaining speed and efficiency, which are essential factors in real-time applications. However, image denoising providing for maximum denoising performance, speed, and efficiency on these platforms is subject to constant innovation. To this end, the present work proposes a high-throughput fixed-point adaptive edge noise filter architecture to denoise digital images with additive white Gaussian noise in realtime using a nonlinear modified pixel-likeness weighted-frame technique. The proposed architecture works in two stages.… More >

    Ling Ding1, 2, Huyin Zhang1, *, Jinsheng Xiao3, Junfeng Lei3, Fang Xu3, Shejie Lu2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.122, No.2, pp. 675-690, 2020, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2020.07987

Abstract The ultimate goal of image denoising from video is to improve the given image, which can reduce noise interference to ensure image quality. Through denoising technology, image quality can have effectively optimized, signal-to-noise ratio can have increased, and the original mage information can have better reflected. As an important preprocessing method, people have made extensive research on image denoising algorithm. Video denoising needs to take into account the various level of noise. Therefore, the estimation of noise parameters is particularly important. This paper presents a noise estimation method based on variance stability transformation, which estimates the parameters of variance stability… More >

    Mingxu Yi1, Lifeng Wang1,2, Yalin Pan1, Jun Huang1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.109-110, No.5, pp. 427-446, 2015, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2015.109.427

Abstract Active cancellation stealth is a significant developing direction in modern stealth technology field. In this paper, according to characteristics of linear frequency modulated (LFM) signal and nonlinear frequency modulated (NLFM) signal, the cancellation signal was designed. An important parameter called cancellaty which is used to measure the effect of cancellation is proposed. The basic theory of active cancellation stealth is introduced. Based on radar target fluctuation models, the formulas of the radar detection probability are given. Combining the definition of cancellaty with radar detection probability, the effective scope of the cancellaty is ensured. Simulation results show the effectiveness and the… More >
