    Abstract Development of temperature rise in massive concrete structure such as a roller compacted concrete dam is attributed to hydration of concrete and environmental boundary conditions. These thermal changes in the material affect the elastic, creep properties of the material, and in turn, the stress fields within the structure.     Abstract In this article, the post-peak softening stage of the constitutive relation and the elastic stiffness degradation of concrete are investigated, and a highly reasonable constitutive relation curve is proposed. At the material level, the energy change in the concrete failure process is studied based on the different stress-strain curves of concrete under uniaxial tension and compression. The concrete failure criterion based on elastic strain energy density is deemed suitable and consistent with the experimental phenomena.     Abstract Lunar lander may experience various impact loadings when it makes a landing on the lunar surface. Due to the reason, shock absorption system of lunar lander should be designed to absorb the landing energy of lunar lander efficiently for a successful lunar mission. Shock absorption system should be reliable, and the entire landing energy should be absorbed into the shock absorption system to prevent a critical bouncing or turn-over.     Development and Evaluation of Linear Characteristic of a Complex Flexure Hinge

    Abstract This paper concentrates on the development and evaluation of linear characteristics of a complex flexure hinge with high accuracy and large stiffness. The flexure hinge mechanism is used to clamp the shaft of a micropositioning stage based on the inchworm principle. Six key parameters of the flexure hinge are optimized by using finite element method. Developed flexure hinge has very good effects on the clamping and resilience that are accurate and reasonable.     A Three-Point BVP of Time-Dependent Inverse Heat Source Problems and Solving by a TSLGSM

    Abstract We consider an inverse problem for estimating an unknown time dependent heat source H(t) in a heat conduction equation ut(x,t) = uxx(x,t) + H(t). First this inverse problem is formulated as a three-point boundary value problem (BVP) for ODEs discretized from the transformed homogeneous governing equation. To treat this three-point BVP we develop a two-stage Lie-group shooting method (TSLGSM). The novel approach is examined through numerical examples to convince that it is rather accurate and efficient; the estimation error is small even for identifying discontinuous and oscillatory heat sources under noise.
