    Abstract This paper aims to perform a comparison of deterministic and stochastic models. The stochastic modelling is a more realistic way to study the dynamics of gonorrhoea infection as compared to its corresponding deterministic model. Also, the deterministic solution is itself mean of the stochastic solution of the model. For numerical analysis, first, we developed some explicit stochastic methods, but unfortunately, they do not remain consistent in certain situations.     Abstract In recent single-particle tracking (SPT) measurements on Listeria monocytogenes motility in cells [Kuo and McGrath (2000)], the actin-based stochastic dynamics of the bacterium movement has been analyzed statistically in terms of the mean-square displacement (MSD) of the trajectory. We present a stochastic analysis of a simplified polymerization Brownian ratchet (BR) model in which motions are limited by the bacterium movement. Analytical results are obtained and statistical data analyses are investigated.     Abstract This paper presents a method for the large strain consolidation analysis of soft-clay road embankment with stochastic parameters to random excitation. Based on the large strain theory of continuum material, Biot consolidation theory and Neumann stochastic finite element method (NSFEM), the large strain consolidation NSFEM (LSC-NSFEM) has been established. A program of LSC-NSFEM is designed to analyze soft-clay road embankment. The residue iteration method is used to deal with the nonlinear fluctuating part of stiffness matrix, and the approximate algorithm of the fluctuating part of stiffness matrix is designed to improve LSC-NSFEM program efficiency.     Abstract A stochastic optimization approach is used to design a tetrahedral spacecraft formation for the NASA Magnetospheric Multiscale (MMS) mission whose performance characteristics are robust with respect to differential semimajor axis errors.
