Information Monitoring Technology for Support Structure of Railway Tunnel During Operation

    Licai Zhao1,*, Shishuenn Chen

    Structural Durability & Health Monitoring, Vol.12, No.1, pp. 35-50, 2018, DOI:10.3970/sdhm.2018.012.035

Abstract In the process of railway construction, because of the inconvenience of geological condition, water bursting and mud surging happen frequently, and the later deformation of support structure on the happening geology section would threaten the normal running of railway. The limit difference of deformation control value of the support structure section where geological accidents frequently happen, is small, and artificial half-automatic supervisory technology cannot get the health condition of tunnel in time, resulting many cars speed-down accidents due to deformation of support structure. Through design innovation, we introduce TGMIS in the later period of Yanzishan railway construction to quickly capture… More >

    Molecular & Cellular Biomechanics, Vol.16, No.2, pp. 153-161, 2019, DOI:10.32604/mcb.2019.06873

Abstract Cardiovascular diseases are closely associated with deteriorating atherosclerotic plaques. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is a recently developed intravascular imaging technique with high resolution approximately 10 microns and could provide accurate quantification of coronary plaque morphology. However, tissue segmentation of OCT images in clinic is still mainly performed manually by physicians which is time consuming and subjective. To overcome these limitations, two automatic segmentation methods for intracoronary OCT image based on support vector machine (SVM) and convolutional neural network (CNN) were performed to identify the plaque region and characterize plaque components. In vivo IVUS and OCT coronary plaque data from 5… More >

Abstract Intravascular optical coherence tomography (IVOCT) is becoming more and more popular in clinical diagnosis of coronary atherosclerotic. However, reading IVOCT images is of large amount of work. This article describes a method based on image feature extraction and support vector machine (SVM) to achieve semi-automatic segmentation of IVOCT images. The image features utilized in this work including light attenuation coefficients and image textures based on gray level co-occurrence matrix. Different sets of hyper-parameters and image features were tested. This method achieved an accuracy of 83% on the test images. Single class accuracy of 89% for fibrous, 79.3% for calcification and… More >

A Robust Inverse Method Based on Least Square Support Vector Regression for Johnson-cook Material Parameters

    Hu Wang1, Weiyi Li1, Guangyao Li1

    CMC-Computers, Materials & Continua, Vol.28, No.2, pp. 121-146, 2012, DOI:10.3970/cmc.2012.028.121

Abstract The purpose of this study is to propose a robust inverse method for estimating Johnson-Cook material parameters. The method is shown through illustrative examples for two different advanced high strength steel (AHSS) materials (DP980 and TRIP780) using set of data from impact experiments with different velocities. Compared with widely mixed numerical experimental methods, the suggested inverse method has the capability to guarantee the robustness of the obtained parameters by considering uncertainties. The inverse problem is converted into multi-objective optimization problems. Furthermore, in order to improve the performance in efficiency and accuracy, metamodeling techniques and global optimization method are integrated. The… More >

    Wei Guo1,2, Chen Zeng1,2, Hongye Gou3,*, Yao Hu1,2, Hengchao Xu4, Longlong Guo1,2

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.120, No.3, pp. 491-515, 2019, DOI:10.32604/cmes.2019.06162

Abstract CRTS-II slab ballastless track on bridge is a unique system in China high speed railway. The application of longitudinal continuous track system has obviously changed dynamic characteristics of bridge structure. The bridge system and CRTS-II track system form a complex nonlinear system. To investigate the seismic response of high speed railway (HSR) simply supported bridge-track system, nonlinear models of three-span simply supported bridge with piers of different height and CRTS-II slab ballastless track system are established. By seismic analysis, it is found that shear alveolar in CRTS-II track system is more prone to be damaged than bridge components, such as… More >

Atomic Exponential Basis Function Eup(x,ω) - Development and Application

    Nives Brajčić Kurbaša1, Blaž Gotovac1, Vedrana Kozulić1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.111, No.6, pp. 493-530, 2016, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2016.111.493

Abstract This paper presents exponential Atomic Basis Functions (ABF), which are called Eup(x,ω). These functions are infinitely differentiable finite functions that unlike algebraic up(x) basis functions, have an unspecified parameter - frequency w. Numerical experiments show that this class of atomic functions has good approximation properties, especially in the case of large gradients (Gibbs phenomenon). In this work, for the first time, the properties of exponential ABF are thoroughly investigated and the expression for calculating the value of the basis function at an arbitrary point of the domain is given in a form suitable for implementation in numerical analysis. Application of… More >

Approximation of Unit-Hypercubic Infinite Noncooperative Game Via Dimension-Dependent Samplings and Reshaping the Player’s Payoffs into Line Array for the Finite Game Simplification

    Vadim V. Romanuke1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.108, No.2, pp. 113-134, 2015, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2015.108.113

Abstract The problem of solving infinite noncooperative games approximately is considered. The game may either have solution or have no solution. The existing solution may be unknown as well. Therefore, an approach of obtaining the approximate solution of the infinite noncooperative game on the unit hypercube is suggested. The unit-hypercubic game isomorphism to compact infinite noncooperative games allows to disseminate the approximation approach on a pretty wide class of noncooperative games. The approximation intention is in converting the infinite game into a finite one, whose solution methods are easier rather than solving infinite games. The conversion starts with sampling the players’… More >

Exact Elasticity Solution for Natural Frequencies of Functionally Graded Simply-supported Structures

    S. Brischetto1

    CMES-Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences, Vol.95, No.5, pp. 391-430, 2013, DOI:10.3970/cmes.2013.095.391

Abstract This paper gives an exact three-dimensional elastic model for the free vibration analysis of functionally graded one-layered and sandwich simply-supported plates and shells. An exact elasticity solution is proposed for the differential equations of equilibrium written in general orthogonal curvilinear coordinates. The equations consider a geometry for shells without simplifications, and allow the analysis of the cases of spherical shell panels, cylindrical shell panels, cylindrical closed shells and plates. The main novelty is the possibility of a general formulation for these geometries. The coefficients in equilibrium equations depend on the thickness coordinate because of the radii of curvature for the… More >

Abstract Rock surrounding the circular roadway with uniform and local support is one of the most common phenomenons in roadway support engineering, which needs to be studied thoroughly at the theoretical level. The existing literatures on stress field function of rock surrounding the roadway is largely restricted to analytical solutions of stress for roadways with a uniform support or no support at all, the corresponding stress solution under conditions of local support has not been provided. Based on the mechanical models of uniform support and local support, the methods of the complex variable function and the complex Fourier series, using the… More >
